Aerec hid this from the other Developers in his Pull Request so they wouldn't notice that it applies Treasure Hunter -1.

CriticalXI created the custom treasure hunter necklace quest before quitting Horizon due to their refusal to remove Kipling. They fucked over Setsuko and also lost vital members of staff. But Aerec is solely focused on Tyler Ninja Blevins' wealth. The tinfoil hat was likely meant to delay rare drops until the rebase is completed

use your lockouts. each dynamis lockout is like 500k, each limbus like 250k w/ a duo, and certain ENM lockouts have an EV of like 150k/run. on one character, this works out to be over 1M a week.

you can supplement this by finding a decent farm that you can repeat indefinitely. stalk THFs with Mandaus to figure out where the best spots are, but be curious and explore. zero competition for 50k/hr is better than a camp that peaks at 150k/hr but has 4+ ppl there. there are elemental farming spots that will be almost 100% afk and get you like 20-40k/hr. if you're creative and resourceful, you can find uncontested 70-80k/hr farming spots even today (i see them open in /sea!). using an alt to farm two spots at once can be great, but you'll burn out fast.

crafting helps. sairuiran printing can be >50k/hr if you have a mostly empty satchel+inventory and are optimal about movement (e.g., taking airships to craft at dock/on the ship). most other prints are 30-40k/hr (e.g., kodoku), or only available in limited quantities (e.g., holy water). if you're patient, you can watch the markets and snipe guild point items or transiently-profitable crafts. almost every craft is demand-limited, so don't expect to repeat your 150k/hr craft forever - gotta wait for stuff to sell eventually.

certain BCNMs are great value if you're willing to look for them, and you can find a duo/trio group to clear them. certain merc markets are really good, but like crafting, they're only open transiently and they require you to have a few talented/geared friends to help you clear the content.

most important is to pick a farm that has low competition during your playtimes, and that doesn't drive you insane. ppl build relics on months of WFH 30k/hr. good luck!

Sometimes I think about coming back to Horizon as I reminisce about all the fun I had during launch just to see how many of the people I knew are still playing. But then I check what has actually been updated over the past two years and realize there isn't really a point.

I look at retail and think there's tons of things I could come back and manage solo but the game is better with friends. My old LS is probably dead and finding a new group sounds like a pain. That and I just really hate JP farming.

I love FFXI so much but maybe it's just not for me anymore.

Einherjar, 95~99% complete Nyzul Isle (it's functional, but last I checked several months ago there's some very minor bugs), a few salvage zones from KnowOne who ported them from Eden. The HNMs probably reasonably work (though I am sure they will be buffed for horizon and that is not much work).

All the jobs are implemented reasonably to a level 75 cap. iirc most missions already work too.
