Want to play classic Mario Party N64 and Gamecube games with other retarded anons? This is the place to be.

>What do I need to play?

https://github.com/MarioPartyNetplay/Project64-MPN (for N64 games)
https://github.com/MarioPartyNetplay/Dolphin-MPN (for Gamecube games)
use your method of choice to obtain ROMs for any Mario Party you want to play (1-7)
>! please use .z64 versions for N64 games and .rvz versions for GCN games !
don't fuck with the advanced settings unless someone tells you to

>How do I join?

when someone hosts:
>configure your controller of choice (please do this before joining)
>select the "Online Play" button
>go to the "Connect" tab
>paste the provided room code into the part that says "Host Code"
>wait for it to start

>When do we play?

I don't know yet! But I want to at some point. I'll be keeping the thread open for potential interest and if there are enough people to play and figure out when. People also sometimes advertise on /v/, so look out for those.

This thread can also serve as a hub for NSO parties, Superstars, and Jamboree if anyone wants to host those.

the fact that /v/ never does netplays on emulators makes me sad. They are fucking free, and IIRC dolphin actually has built in chat. I'll just check in here from time to time for any lobbies. Hopefully the ping won't be too high.

as long as it's under 100 or so things tend to go pretty smoothly

You need to check more often, because N64 netplay via Gopher has been getting a lot of threads on /v/ recently. That being said, I understand why people don't use Dolphin and Project64 more often; while they're serviceable, they are not only ping restrictive but sensitive to any jitters that are generally glossed over with more proper netcode.

Fuck, really? I never once saw one of those threads, the only ones i saw where anons playing MK8 or MP on the switch. What the actual fuck, i have muscle memory to input the URL on my phone and lurk while doing shit, they probably do it when i'm sleeping. Yeah, i think dolphin can be very finnicky on the netcode part, it's just that it's very easy to just get the thing going, and everybody knows the emulator, so they probably already have it on their machine.
