>12-30% of total competitive FPS players are hacking

How do you feel about the fact you'll probably be playing against cheaters in every game?

Not all of them are idiots with zero recoil. Some just use soft aimbots and ESP no one can tell the difference from a really good player. Even Valorant has hackers despite having the strictest anticheat.

It's not that high. I'd say maybe 5% on average, though it depends on the game, recent sales, gamemode, region, etc. The most common remain aimbots and wallhacks, and for the aimbots it's almost always "soft" these days as anything else gets caught too quickly. Over time I've seen fewer triggerbots (although this can be tricky since newer ones sometimes add a delay or variable delay) and more anti-aim (or auto-movement when the cheater is targeted, which has the same effect but looks natural)

How do I feel about it? It's annoying. I'm good enough to thrash most cheaters but at the same time I find myself doing more and more pub stomping and less competitive gamemodes, because when a player who is skilled under normal circumstances starts using soft hacks, good fucking luck proving it. And that shit just ruins competition.

it's why I stopped playing PvP games in general
little timmy can just use his mom's credit card to buy the latest wallhax so he can prefire every corner, but only when there's a player to be killed, and you get called a schizo for pointing it out

The only enjoyable time I have playing FPS is low rank. Because everyone there either is starting/sucks/plays for fun. While the moment you begin to climb in rank you get some faggot who has cheats. Which makes no sense, does the person think the moment they hit Predator/Celestial/I don't know other rank names they're going to get signed to an esports organization?

To be fair that's because lower ranks are full of actual punching bag level noobs and you can easily dunk on them all with minimal effort.

maybe if recoil wasn't so random in modern shooters people wouldn't feel the need to circumvent it. recoil diamonds take skill out of the equation.

Eventually all games will require SSN and to provide documentation of who you are, sort of like Asia. Then you will see cheating curbed in really nice games. It’s a problem that only exists right now due to technological limitation. When your entire life is wound up in biometric dna and tracking into your gaming life, unable to circumvent or use other peoples identities, gaming will flourish. But is that really how you want it to be?

Even if 5% was the best case (it's probably higher) that means that every other game is ruined by a cheater in a 5v5.
And that every apex lobby has cheaters.

The three truths:

- Blatant cheating is easy to detect.
- Soft cheating is indistinguishable from strong players.
- No lobby can be perfectly evenly matched.

Maybe I lost to a cheater or maybe I lost to the strongest player in the match. Why worry if I can't know?

because there is no point in playing a game without fair play

this is like going to boxing championship where nobody is screened for steroids and injecting lead in their gloves

honestly the only fps game i've played where i'm convinced A LOT of people cheat is CSGO/CS2

i've been killed by a cheater in cod warzone but i never saw the rampant cheating others talk about. hunt showdown i used to see people talking about cheaters all the time but i put a lot of hours into that game and i dont think i was ever killed by a cheater

Cheating in videogames is retarded. If you want to be a hacker just get a job in the intelligence community(Earth Intelligence Agency(EIA)) and fight crime or do cybersecurity. IMHO the best solution is delayed killcams and taking the 'score'/'stat tracking' out of games so theres no incentive to cheat. For example, one of the best FPS games out there, Squad, had no unlocks and no persistent stats, so there are generally fewer cheaters.

The last time I played a multiplayer FPS (and the last time I hacked) was the original Planetside. I got tired of getting sniped by hackers from the other side of the map and decided to snipehack them back. And then I got banned within 20 minutes. Good thing I didn't buy that game.

I'm not gonna' lie. I don't hack, but I do cheat. I use rapid fire and Anti-Recoil and a setting the wiggles my character to engage RAA. I got tired of getting lasered by people clearly cheating the same way I do now, so I just joined them. Fuck it.

It probably varies by region. Everywhere outside North America seems to have a cheating problem. North America has a history of playing games for fun while respecting other people's fun. Third worlders want to feel powerful at everyone else's expense.

And Western Europe gets forced to play with second worlders from Eastern Europe, whether that's due to the region including them, or them using VPNs to escape each other.

Asian face saving is tragic. It's embedded in their culture that cheating is valid. They can lie straight to your face while simultaneously believing it's reality. The win is all that matters and they'll mock you like they earned it fair and square while having no self awareness whatsoever. The other end of the spectrum are the legit sweaty tryhards how play 80+ hours a week and exploit every min max and cheese to maximize the win potential. At least they are playing, but they're both a cancer.

In about every fps on the market, once you hit a certain elo/mmr, you start to see more and more people cheating. People pre aiming angles, people hitting nutty headshots consistently despite having no game sense. Its subtle but you'll see a not so insignificant amount of people using shit like cornus zens, xims and other bullshit.

Yep, like JP devs being outraged over Palworld "stealing" from Pokemon, while their videogame history is full of shit they stole from western devs. Like Castlevania stealing western horror characters, Castlevania 2 stealing cover art from a D&D module, Metal Gear using a traced scene from Terminator for western box art, Metal Gear 2 using the likenesses of a bunch of western celebs, etc.
