Idgi, this never was a problem for me in overwatch, especially since the heros in that game don't even have to build momentum to strafe and have no friction, but my enemies strafing in place just breaks my ankles in this game.

You're probably picked up by the EOMM system as decent mechanically and you therefore get negative hitreg and magicbullet bullshit against you.
The majority of people you're fighting are playing on controller with aim assist, they don't have to worry about strafing in any particular way to keep aiming while keeping 50% accuracy.
Visually OW is easy to track, Apex is difficult so you require some built in pre-knowledge of what people will be doing (I know it's retarded) to keep track of them at all.

Just know that taking high ground and headglitching is essential.
Cover is also really important, you're in a bad season now where everyone is playing OP Ash which totally negates any normal way of playing Apex so really it's hard to give any advice on how to play right now.
I'm not even playing this season, nothings left except retarded controller aim assist aping and whitelisted retards.

So many guns in this game feel pinpoint accurate even while hipfiring, but only for the first 5-7 shots.
It also helps you actually see your target through the massive muzzle flash, fat yellow bullets, red lightning cloud of shield being broken, etc. etc.

And yes I am hardstuck in Apex because I'm at the exact skill rating where people start being able to kill in one mag because I can't hit shit when full autoing.

The matchmaking is completely wack and it's full of hotdropping shits who leave the game at the drop of a hat (since there's no leaver penalty on pubs).

So basically just treat Ranked like it were the regular casual mode, don't care too much about ranked points and everything will be fine.

Spend more time in the firing range trying these things out. get your friends to warm up with them and try out the kits against live targets. Loba is boring, but at least she has movement. The name of the game is being able to close the distance when you crack or get a knock. Crypto doesn't fit in this game because his kit makes him sit in one spot while everyone else does the action. They have the technology to make the drone follow you or move without logging on to the steam deck, but that would require the devs to care.

I don't know the extent of what the whitelist entails, but it seems like the enemies are at a much lower skill level than he is. You rarely see him roll up against a three stack. When he does, the ankleweights go down first, and somehow he cleans up. At tournaments and scrims, usually he gets steamrolled. This just doesn't add up when you put him beside someone like Wattson. I think conversely he was shit talking the game and refused to buy a couple of events before his short hiatus recently, and his enemies suddenly seemed a lot more coordinated.
Can't speak for Faide and others, but I'm sure you'll see similar patterns. There's guys who are cracked but never go compete. Makes me wonder why?

Whitelisted used to mean much easier lobbies.
But it's changed, it now manipulates hitreg, magicbullet variable etc instead.
If two whitelisted players meet they are at equal footing so whoever plays better comes up on top.
If you come up against a whitelisted player you will have bad hitreg on them and they will have amazing hitreg on you.
If it's your turn to win and you're not whitelisted it usually means there will be no whitelisted people in the lobby and your hitreg and magicbullet variable is cranked up a bit, you basically become whitelisted for like one game.

Before this general moved over to /vm/ this was being discussed a lot. I ended up quitting for a whole split because I would get no regs and frame drops suddenly when a fight starts despite my hardware being able to handle the game fine previously. A couple games later it would be fine with no stutters. One game I'd pick up the dirty thirty and hit targets from 200m away that I had no business landing, other games I can't hit a stationary target at 100m. My smg hipfire bullets would bend around a gibby or pathfinder in a duel (and move as fast as nerf darts), other times they feel really crispy and connect.
I haven't put money into the game in a while and only jam mix tape. Did some ranked at the end of last split and got to play in the timmy pool for a bit which was fun--and this is another conversation--but the responsiveness is totally different in BR compared to mixtape.
All in all, I'm post-caring with this game. Was holding out for the Watto mythic (pic unrelated) and it sucks. Saved up my goy coins and crafting metals just to be rugpulled by the "milsetone" gatcha box thing. Had enough to do the trick where you craft the epics and then buy the legendary with coins. Silver lining is that the theme sucks.
tl;dr, Not a great idea to play a game just for the paid cosmetics, especially when EA is involved.The only metric should be about how much fun you're having.

Two gametypes for earning shields.
The new to satisfy Musical Chairs players, the "Light Looting Walking Sim". These types can have random shield (parts?) back in a simpler loot pool, that you find and not earn (like these pkayers want). This is the voluntary first person shooter game for those perma hard stuck at 300 damage a game. A filter mode for the people who cannot/refuse to learn all the rules of modern apex, with the power fantasy backed off from reach out and poke.

Sign Posting with quest arrows to teach shitters how to rotate through the different rings is practically necessary for mainline apex, not voicelines. How about voicelines warning to not be in the obvious kill box at the wrong time, or too early, so that shitters can actually begin to believe in finding a real game out there in space and not rat, because shooting brings only punishment. Let them waste time looking at all the types of grass, they want that.

Unfortunately the 'games printed' metric goes up with intentionally bad lobbies. I don't care about playing with shitters, just not their self imposed rules that is still begging for armor upgrades from the floor, actually inside poi's, to exist to create UNEARNED advantage. If you ever had that moment where you unexpectedly dropped the wrong weapon, spilling all its attachments all over the floor, this is probably what caused it.
This mostly accidentally happens after initial drop or a respawn, when you're still scrambling for guns and swapping them around in your inventory.
