I was told about this Turtle WoW game and how it was the go to private server for Vanilla WoW. I've always been a big WoW player, but recently unsubbed from official WoW servers and wanted to give private servers a try, figure it must be legit if there are so many playing them. I downloaded the client. No problems so far. Then when I launched the Turtle WoW launcher my computer begin to slow down. I didn't think much of it, because I guess it's a new file or something, idk; so, I restarted my computer and this is when I felt something was off. I noticed my usual startup time took much longer than before. I have a nicer PC build BTW, but this just didn't seem right. I launched Turtle WoW launcher again I suspected this might be the issue. I opened WoW anyways and it wasn't opening and then finally opened after like 5 minutes, which is just obsurd. I decided to run a malware virus scan and sure enough Turtle WoW file had Malware and a virus attached to it. WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I'm never downloading a private servers again and I hope anyone who is interested in playing private server be cautious. I'm not happy with Blizzard, but this seemed like a cool thing to try. This is not cool. I thought this server was the go-to server. Who the fuck is running Turtle WoW and I get a virus from installing their launcher?

I've already reported this site to the FTC so hopefully others will not get a virus, but FTC will likely not do anything. I guess I'm fucking retard for trying to play WoW for free.

You can literally play a more accurate 1.12 WoW using a 3.3.5 client while also keeping all the improvements. There's no reason to use the old one, other than exploit the security flaws.
