Looks like rods just increase the bar size in the minigame, while each bait has a different effect. Of course they're going to tell you to run straight attack boost and only holy burst and shit like that because they want to beat shit in 2 minutes standing still with a single pal with never dodging instead of actually playing the video game, killing something within the TEN MINUTES and FIVE PALS the game lets you use. If you want your electric pal to use electric skills and have Lord of Lightning because the name looks cooler on the stat screen, you're gonna be fucking fine for anything in the real game that people actually play.

Will I have any issues if I repeatedly install and uninstall mods?

It's a shame that this place has basically no space to build a base in, it's one of the coolest looking places in the game imo.
They even sealed it off with rocks. Moonlord is an abundantly available boss to farm unlike the other three needing much more farming for the slabs and it's far more casual friendly with being susceptible to common shooting moves rather than holy burst and the like autism.

Now fishing gives you free guaranteed rainbow passives and the operating table lets you insert almost any yellow and white passives.

Level 2 mining is weird, it's virtually nonexistent, and the pals that have it are just generally busted base pals like Penking(s) and Braloha. The dedicated early game miner Digtoise is level 3, as well as most other burrowing themed creatures like Reptyro and Xenogard. (And Palumba, because reasons).
Additionally, before Penking Lux, there were ZERO electricity pals that could mine.
For the most important base skill, its progression is very strange.

They really need to find a better use for Cooling pals
As of right now, going above level 2 or 3 hardly matters. Ooh, my food will degrade at a rate of once every 10 hours instead of every 5 hours, what a huge difference... not.
They tried with the new crusher, but I hardly use that thing. Doesn't feel worth it to use a base slot on another cooling pal just for that.

Try to think of it like this: Imagine the game only had pals that spawn from level 1 to 20, and pals that spawned from level 40 to 65. The only exceptions are level 30 wild tombats and penkings. I know it doesn't, but imagine a world where it did. He's pointing out that it's kind of weird that in this world that very few pals spawn between levels 20 and 40, not complaining he couldn't find the two pals that DO spawn at level 30.

So apparently the wind gust jump things don't prevent you from building on them. In fact, you can place foundation directly upon them.
Which means you can make some nifty base concepts with these things. I'll probably build tall base around one of these that gives a big launch and use that to get to upper floors. Or even just construct a base that is up in the sky on pillars and can only be accessed through this, that sounds fun too.

Actually, I'll just drop some numbers, just in case you're that nutcase doing a hardcore playthrough. My base pals have around 1200-1500 defense, they generally take 300-500 damage at level 60 in normal difficulty, I believe base research is accounted into these numbers, but not sure. Generally at the end of each battle, most pals would have over 80% HP left, most having a total healthpool over 10000, but I am using green Lyleen, and I've seen her heal on occasion, though I usually take on 20 raids consecutively
