FUCK NOODLE ARMS AND FUCK RNG (SWAY)!
I have over 7000 hours in this game, I've played this game religiously for over 5 years. Been involved in the comp side of this game and also as a server hoster admin.
Before the ICO, Squad (imho) was the best milsim on the market. Even though I’ve had the opportunity to play comp (comp is short for "competitive" wich is the Squad equivalent to a counter-strike pro gamer, but in my opinion it has an even higher status than a CS pro because Squad comp is like 25 vs 25 instead of just 5vs5 and thus requires higher iq strategy) with some of the best teams in the world, am a moderator on one of the major German Squad servers, and a co-organizer of one of the last big Squad events, I unfortunately cannot recommend the game at the moment. Comp is still somewhat playable thanks to the comp community and GLOBAL ESCALATION. As someone who has more experience with real assault rifles than probably most gamers and especially the "devs" at OWI, I can tell you: Squad is currently a disaster! I tell this not to boast but to prove that i am not a mere blueberry. The developers have ruined the game – real soldiers do not behave like 12-year-olds with toy guns, the gameplay is unbalanced, unrealistic, and leaves no room for TRUE skill. My team was not just a bunch of gamers but a circle of true friends bound by comradery but now all there is left to do for us, thanks to OWI, is to share reaction gifs on discord. The overhaul has destroyed everything – the game is basically dead now and everybody has quit playing. Hopefully, they’ll revert the ICO, or the game will be dead.
