Yeah, Feybreak can be confusing, some of the bounty targets are hidden in a similar fashion, not to mention the Legendary Friendly Pal Tamer as an unmarked NPC, which you can fight in the master arena

I like how the music you hear all the time like the general battle and tower boss themes are all awful garbage, but the ones you hear very rarely like the Legend theme or the more recent boss themes are absurdly good and need to be way louder

Still in the early game and raids are starting to get annoying. Do I need to build walls around the whole base yo delay them, or can I just build them in front of their seemingly pre-determined path? I’d like to try to have them attack the walls while my pals AOE them to death. They’ve become annoying enough that I have to actively defend along with the base pals now.

Xenolord is the coolest fucking thing in the world, I both love and hate that it's locked at the absolute end of the game

there are a couple of bug fixes with this update that should help issues with the server.
dimensional storage should be back, backups should work better, and performance should not degrade after a couple hours past a restart
provided it doesnt crashloop like last time

I was playing at 12fps for 7 entire months from some fucked patch in december and now there is no issue, cpu and gpu actually have utilization and back up to 100fps epic

The palworld team is 50 people that are all, by the CEO's actual word, terrible entry level devs that don't command real salaries. We can infer from old comments (and the game's development) that all the devs are bro friends that probably work short hours and aren't pressured into any deadlines Valve style.
You then remember that Palworld was literally the best selling game on all of steam. Say they only got 20 dollars from each 30 dollar sale, from 15 million pc players (number from 2 years ago) and 10 million, (even ignoring playstation and switch), that would still be 500 million dollars. They have more money than they even know what to do with from their opening weekend alone, and refuse to hire more or more competent devs.
Money will never be a concern for the game in anybody's lifetime. They can literally, genuinely do whatever they want and it will never run out.

You can build defenses to micromanage it ahead of time, or build defensive walls so that they can bang their heads on it for a while. You have to encircle the base though with them. Leave no gap uncovered, plus have it be high enough to avoid flying pals getting in.

the supply drops in feybreak guarantee a skill book every time and usually the sakurajima ones have one as well. you can always edit your settings to make supply drops more frequent. the default timer is 3 hours but I made it 30 minutes on my dedicated server

I think tasks just have a hidden priority to each of them, for example a cooling pal will always prioritize cooling a food box but at the same time won't prioritize a refrigerated crusher over a random transport task. It's the main reason why I stopped relying on Ghangler Ignis despite them easily being able to get both 5 kindling and 5 watering and even having transport. It sounds perfect on paper but then they will always prioritize kindling, stop any task to randomly transport something, and rarely do watering tasks if there is any other task available. A true priority focus system like RimWorld's would make Palworld a god-tier base management game.

The Pal Residence Building is a little Rectangular unfortunately. The personal residence is more varied in shape.There's another balcony on the far side.

I think putting out content every few months that adds another 20-30 hours of gameplay to my playthrough is a perfectly reasonable pace for that team size. Xenolord is a bad localization that implies Xenolord has much more significance than it actually does.

Xenovader is called Xenoveda
Xenogard is called Xenoloda (Presumably pronounced "Shenorde", so basically Xenard, this was actually localized really well).

And then Xenolord is called Xenodran (Xenodoran).
Putting the characters for doran into google translate will literally just give you doran, as if it's just a name. Searching for doran will get you obscure results saying it's basically a word for a disturbance, upheaval, riot, etc.

Someone else would have to read the japanese journal entries to see if The Calamity is referred to as a doran, which would be insane lore confirmation.

I thought I had something when I saw that the japanese wiki had Jetragon's name auto translated to "Jedran", which would be pronounced "Jedoran", making the naming of Xenolord obvious, but the kanji very clearly says "Jedoragon"

But either way, Xenolord is apparently genuinely just meant as the third level of Xeno invader, the raid is just game mechanics, the trailer where Bjorn is attacked by multiples is not a mistake, and localizers ruin everything.

Wanna know what's funny about that? That extra passive slot over Mimog is a "dead slot". Mimog has to waste a slot on Nocturnal, but it gets to have Swift/Runner/Legend for a total boost of +65%. I think for the first time I will actually use pal edit to skip some of this, probably the breeding. There is nothing more I loathe more than just sitting afk in my bed on my breeding base waiting for bars to fill

honestly it's not as bad as it was before. i used a yakumo and kept trying to catch pals until i could at least breed all the passives i want, but now with the surgery table all i need to wait for is remarkable craftmanship and work slave, artisan and serious i can just add myself. and i'm constantly swimming in anywhere between 1-2 million gold from constantly selling pal spheres below legendary and all the precious pal materials i get from bosses and dungeons etc.
braloha also cuts down the sex time in half at max rank which helps as well. i felt like default egg timer sucked so i dialled it down to 1

It's still a massive pain in the ass to do 15 times over, even if you have a Braloha and don't need to farm money, soul/breed/book farming alone is probably 50 hours, bare mininmum, of straight grinding for 15 pals. Who can even guess how long it would've taken pre tides, probably literal hundreds.

I've used a comfortable multi-floor setup on a dedicated base since pre-Sakurajima, and it's gotten way faster with the release of more QoL features. Before large-scale incubators I had tight grids of 21 basics per ranch and the muscle memory to cycle them quickly. Most projects don't take super long unless I'm rolling for mutated passives on raid pals.

I can't do that, my pc shits itself, but I don't envy you either, I'm pretty comfy with 5 or 6 breeding pens, as you said, most projects don't even take that long even with my limited setup, couple hours maybe and most of that is just condensing. I admire your 'tism though, I can't commit to more than this

I finally get what the 3 tiers of favorite are for. They're just tags for letting you sort shit easier. If you're breeding an army, just favorite the ones with the traits you want so you can sort for them and condense them easy, set party pals to another favorite, etc. I would kind of rather you could set any kind of tag and have the same effect and sort by them. When you click the favorite icon, it gives a wall of emojis and you can pick one to use as a tag. Then you open the sort menu on the palbox and you can sort by any of them.

Everyone enjoys breeding with hatch time set to zero, I just feel kind of cheesy for it. I really think the electric incubator should be instant hatch no matter your settings because by level 60 you have to mass breed to engage with most of the remaining content and you're past the point where it's hatch time is a reasonable limiting factor.

you have to save any changes made twice though. first time you save it'll take you to the morpheus page, then save again and it'll actually save the file. Was able to remove the advanced lantern thankfully.

sorry i meant compared to the regular lantern - when the terraria update came out i didn't realise both could be toggled via the menus, so i thought the advanced one was a direct upgrade in that regard.
it definitely does reset to auto. probably a similar bug to how base work mode kept resetting upon loading a save.
