If you are wearing endgame gear and you are chasing hard cap gear, it is a month of grind (1 hour per day) for +1 on a piece of gear.

In endgame grindspots the gankers are too scared to gank because there are hard capped players grinding there and one mistake can mean 6 broken crystals for the ganker. I'm serious, I have over 120 hours at DSR and Tungrad ruins combined, during these hours I got 3 treasure pieces and 1 gank, that's how rare the ganks are.

Because this is it. MMOs across the board are falling out of favor. The companies have no answer to player demands - the discontinuity between player retention and driving profits has swung fully into bleed-out mode. In fact, I'm starting to get the feeling BDO has about 3-4 years of rope left and then the player count & profitability of the game will drop low enough to warrant closure.

The audience are to burned out by years after year of this shit from so many different companies that there's no serious clamor for a new MMO. Yes, maybe amongst the aging millennials and the smaller cohort of zoomers who did fall in to the scene, but it's been a constant downtrend since 2016. I don't think BDO is to blame. I'm using 1440p and the default scaling is fine, not even close to tiny. But if you insist on using scaling, you need to ensure it's a multiple that scales well. Think about what scaling is doing: it's stretching the UI across a larger number of pixels than originally intended. If you scale at a random number, say 123%, then you have to take what previously was an integer number of pixels and multiply that by 1.23.
I was using a 4k TV for a while and 50% scaling wasn't blurry, perhaps 20 or 25 might do but I haven't counted the pixels to see if it multiplies to be an integer. One final thing I noticed is that when selecting your percentage on the scaling slider, it sometimes can have two 'ticks' on the bar whilst still showing the same number, so be careful of that when scaling. One will be correct then the other will be 1% off, leading to a bit of blur.

Right now there is a hot time event with +1000% XP so heading to any grindspot is going to be good XP. Don't forget the daily +200% scroll from Y that you can collect 3 to make a +600%, also the 530% scrolls with loyalties, these alone should be enough to push your character to 61 quickly while grinding anywhere.
Speaking of grindspots, you should check the infinite HP and Mana pot spots, there is an event running now which you can check out to finish them faster, and the HP pot spots aren't half bad either. After your graduation, there is also a Levelling Aid questline from Fughar, that will also send you to these spots again which will reward you with 3k Caphras stones and another "kill X monsters" for 100 Atanis Elements, which are filler pities for any of the 2 pots. So you can kill 3 birds with one stone by trying these spots. Oh, and since everyone will also be in these spots, it's time to learn about Marni realm. For 1 hour, you can enter a private grinding zone where no one can annoy you and you can grind in peace. For the timer to recharge, sit online outside Marni realm for 1 hour and you can go back into Marni again if you wish.

There should be some scrolls in the loyalty shop. Every day you get 300 loyalties, and in the F3 shop there should be a Loyalties tab, basically the f2p portion of the shop. I'm pretty sure there should be some 530% combat XP scrolls there for a very cheap price.

You can do them all in one week. Also if my guildies are correct, you can also do the usual weekly quest, giving you 5 pities, and then returning to the NPC to also pick the event weekly for 15 pities, meaning 20 pities per spot, per week.

I think the option opens up after doing the Valencia questline, or some other main questline. But ye, the option exists later on.

There's some truth to it and most will just pick whatever makes them money anyway, but personally? Ever since seasonal stuff only lasts for like Lv60, I prefer going to the gravestones near Marie Cave when gear is sufficient enough, hitting that level before graduating. Elvia Orcs is doable in season gear but if you just want to get out of season ASAP, it's whatever. Hammering out Lv62 or higher with a tag is good enough, dunno if Elvia Giants or Hexe are still up there but they're still good EXP if you're also grinding for silver. And if it's Skill EXP you're after, they are probably still fine, it's hardly as big an issue these days anyway.

To be frank the AFK training books are slow and I don't think they really have too much of a place anymore.

You don't have to do them all, and especially you don't have to do them all, back to back, at the same day. If you grind one hour per day, it's better to go and experiment at blood wolves, doing the 2 weeklies, instead of staying at Soldier's Cemetery for 1 hour. At the cemetery, you will get 5 atanis elements at best, meanwhile at the wolf spot you have 20 guaranteed from the quests, plus whatever extra it drops, plus a chance for a Kagtunak which is close to half a billion after you craft one of the 2 crystals. Worst case scenario, try these spots with your second character if grinding with shai is too much of a chore.

Don't see it as a mistake, you are playing a game, not a chore through a guide. The only thing you should be worrying about is after graduations, there will be some rewards on the Y tab, like a PEN Blackstar weapon. If you decided that Shai won't be your main class, don't open them with her, and leave them on Y for your second class that you will graduate. There are workarounds if you open them with the Shai, or in general if you want to change your main class, so even if you do open them with her or want to try her a bit more in harder spots, feel free to try them. Btw have you decided what is going to be your second class?

I get what you meant. Shai isn't a class for the early grindspots that ask for mobility and high mob count. She is designed for group spots like Oluns and Turos, Party Shrines, and lifeskills. And yea, picking a shai as your first character made your life a bit harder, but that's it.

All valid choices, Drakania and Tamer are a bit on the challenging side while Guardian and Nova are somewhat easier to get into. Ignore the meta and pick what you like the most.

For a new player usually Item Collection Increase Scrolls are the best, if you grind a lot you'll use them up, if you grind infrequently then you need fewer of course but you never want to be without.

Take the loot scrolls, the alternatives are low tier failstacks for gear enhancing, which you can also get from world bosses. The ways to get loot scrolls are limited and usually a chore to do. Guardian is fun, and both her succession and awakening are great.

A generic PvE page looks like this. If the Void versions of Ah'krads and Destructions are out of your budget, use the cheaper versions. Keep the crimson flames till you get the other 2 macalods. Elkarrs aren't needed, accuracy shouldn't be an issue nowadays for PvE. You can also keep your frost bitterness instead of replacing it with a stalwart fortitude if you feel squishy in spots. And get that full Girin, they have been minlisted for a while now.

You have the gear to go pretty much everywhere, with the exception of 3-4 spots. The lack of Kabua artifacts may make you feel squishy in some, but nothing you can't handle. Dehkia Crescents and Cadrys if you want to burn some agris and grind debos, Tungrad ruins if you want to make some failstacks or you can just sell the origins, Dokkebi (Arsha) if you want to grind for essences of dawn although they will start dropping in price soon, Dehkia Thornwood for more caphras, Oluns/Doluns if you have friends or guildies or if you want to try group grinding, or you can keep grinding Elvia Trolls and craft Vell upgrades to sell them. I wouldn't try DSR without the Kabuas if I were you, but you can try if you want to. Depends on which spots you enjoy more, personally.

Special evasion removed, converted to extra HP. Evasion got reworked in general, now rather than a binary hit/miss it's a different form of reduction in damage which considers the defenders evasion and the attackers accuracy, at least for an overly simple explanation.

I think there should be more things we can spend excess skill points on. The extra weight is great, I would like to also see passive combat/skill/life exp increase, perhaps stamina as well. Some more combat damage focused ones might be cool as well, things that cost a few hundred skill points for only a small buff to make it fair. Perhaps there could be specialisations for the BSR buff, like older classes used to have. You invest SP in adding to the buff some of attack speed, crit rate, crit damage, AP, or perhaps even some defensive stats. But you could select only one or two out of all the skills, in the same way as the one additional effect to awakening skills.

the only meaningful decisions you make are maybe choosing between prime and absolute skills and disabling others
if they do this, they should have a tree for stat boosts so you have to choose what to spec at the cost of something else, otherwise they're no different from buffs everyone will have anyways

If you are starting out then I'd still suggest trying to get the best you can with Tuvala accessories. Getting that shit to TRI is braindead now at least, you might as well give it a try. Also:

I know how skill points used to be five or six years ago, I was there. I'm not suggesting to go back to that but now they are completely useless.
A lot of people in this game have this stupid take where they feel 'forced' to do something they don't like when in actuality there's almost nothing you're forced to do. Don't like grinding for weight, or don't want to grind the last few skill points? Don't do it, it's that simple. I'm 755 GS but am three or four DP short from Journals. It's by far the 'easiest' DP gains I could get but I simply don't want to do them.
These things are seen as must-haves but really they should be considered more similar to high-tier enhancements. No-one expects you to realistically have DEC weapons and accessories, or all the treasure items, or whatever. Extra skills would be just the same sort of thing.

Nah, you good senpai, go make your guardian. Btw, now you have 2 options about the starting main quests. You can start from ancient stone chamber, but when you meet Alustin in Velia, he will give you the option for the simplified questline which will let you skip the main quest and still get most of the rewards, like inventory slots. Your other option would be to start from the mountain of eternal winter. It's a short questline introducing you to that area and lore. Do NOT pick the LoML start, it's an important questline, but leave this for later. The LoML rewards are important, don't get me wrong, but it's such a boring and long questline that even if you spam R through the quest it will still take you some hours, and I'm sure that's the last thing you want to do with a new character.

Literally every spot feels like shit now except for darkseeker's retreat, and I actually ended up doing quite a bit more damage to them than before the patch. All the other spots seem fucked though. All the dehkia treasure spots, lower gyfin, trolls, cyclops, cadry, even regular ash feels way worse kek. They definitely messed something up. It's like they tried to offset the agris buff by making the mobs tankier but made them too tanky.

I leeched my guildies at gyfin for 2 hrs after the patch and made around 25k with agris + despairs both hours. I used to make over 35k trash loot without agris if I got despair and around 30-31k without. I just finished my trolls hour and got 9.7k with agris, before this patch I was making around 15-16k before the change and I didn't need agris for that. Cyclops and cadry are much worse too, and the agris doesn't make up for it.

Endgame spots are the only ones that were improved, it's to the point where they're noticeably squishier and deal way less damage. I can nearly AFK in darkseekers now and even orzekea mobs don't hurt nearly as much. It's like they reversed how it feels to grind mid game and end game but only if you have the gear.

Let's say for the sake of the example that I love grinding Tungrad ruins and I spend 2 hours of grinding per day. Before the agris update, if I wanted to be efficient, I would go grind an agris spot first, like Dehkia Crescents or DSR just to burn 20k agris points, and then spend my second hour at Tungrad ruins. I can't burn agris at Tungrads because it will eat 100k points in 20 minutes. After this update, I can just do 1 hour at Tungrads with agris and 1 hour without agris. Or if I didn't grind the last 2 days because I was busy, I can do both hours with agris. For years, Agris is what split the grindspots into 2 groups, the spots for people that grind 1 hour per day and the spots that people want to grind till their eyes and fingers hurt. But what happens if I grind 1 hour per day, and the spot I like grinding is in the other group? What happens is that agris will go to waste, one way or another. Either I spend my whole agris pool in 20 minutes, or I let it sit at full for months. The whole purpose of agris was to promote people to grind at least 1 potent hour, and later have diminishing returns when agris was over. The problem was that this thing only worked on a handful of spots, and that changed today.

I'm only playing the devil's advocate here because I know a big portion of the playerbase didn't bother redoing their addons after the patch dropped. Some people I've met in the game haven't touched their addons for the past 5 years. Some people didn't bother with lightstones, at all. A guy I met slotted in the +18 AP to monsters and didn't bother changing it until he reached Orzekea. The meta changed, give it a week or 2 till the jewtubers figure this out and the masses watch their vids and realize that stacking AP when every spot has a 5% AP cap isn't working anymore.

Now if only I didn't have to risk my horse dying while entering/leaving the Marni spot at Hexe's; does Krogdalo horse gear even make much of a difference? The other option is overleveling the horse.

I feel like the update is working as intended? Instead of just being stuck at trolls when you are far beyond their AP, you should go to a spot closer to your gear.

The game opens up both a new weapon, as well as a buffed mainhand style at Lv56. Both don't really reach their potential until Lv60, leveling isn't difficult or that tedious these days. Pic related. Anyway, Awakening Guardian has great AoE and is pretty easy to play, Succession is also fairly straightforward.

Shai's combat role is being a support bitch with no choice between movesets and was originally designed as a life skill character. She's good in group grindan though. What are you looking for in a class? I'd also consider using the trial character slots to playtest movesets.

We should have a /bdog/ competition. Obviously doing PvP across servers is a challenge, the first easiest thing that comes to mind is the Black Shrine and comparing times for a specific boss and calamity level, but even then certain classes are always at an advantage or disadvantage against each boss.

What part of Guardian you don't like her? Some of her issues get fixed at 56 when you decide whether you want to pick succession or awakening, basically that's when classes get completed. Same goes for every class in the game, even the Shai you picked, pre-56 Shai is a buffer with no buffs, basically a potato with a boomerang. Now, if you are still 100% sure that Guardian isn't a class you would like to play, you can store all of her items in a city storage, especially the naru/tuvala stuff and the time-filled black stones, delete your Guardian and start another season character. This way, you won't lose your season ticket and you can continue your season pass progress with your next class. A season ticket only gets consumed when you graduate.

Again, don't pick a class for meta reasons. Pick whatever you think looks cool, hot, or fun. Just like my latest seasonal awak zerker, that is all of the aforementioned.

I dunno what you niggas are smoking these last 2 days. I went to DSR, forgot to use buffs and got almost the same loot as my average hours. Mobs were dying on the same speed and skills needed as before the update.

I know classes aren't complete till awk/succ but guardian is boring to level up, I found her even more boring that shai and shai is also boring to level up, shes too slow and simple I guess even more so than shai. I'll decided if I keep her after I get to level 56, it's good to know I don't lose the ticket. I already tried all classes on trial characters and she didn't seem so bad then but it's different when you trial a char and when you have to grind mobs in rotation.

Yeah fair enough. The Magnus can be done in an evening but it's a slog with huge benefits at least. And to be frank leveling a season character is quick enough, it's Lv50-56 where you kind of have to know to rope the moveset together better and then learning a new one that's incomplete for the remainder.

What exactly do you want to do with the Shai that you can't do with the other classes? You can just have 2 main classes, that's what most people do. People have 2 characters tagged, some main 1 grinder class and keep a Shai tagged for group spots and party content. If you don't find any other class you like enough to grind with, nothing should stop you from grinding with Shai if that's what you like to do. Sure, she is terrible at early oneshot spots like Blood Wolves, but that's not where the game ends.

What you want to do is a good plan, don't get me wrong. It's just that people first try to find a class they like for the active gameplay, their active grinder, and later they make a Shai to tag these 2 together.

That's exactly what everyone does. Everyone's bosses alts are old seasonal characters that they tried them, didn't like them enough to replace their main and parked them next to a boss. Back when the game first released, the leveling journey actually felt pretty good when the gear progression and level progression somewhat overlapped. Like by the time you hit 56 you'd naturally have obtained a decent amount of gear unless you were really unlucky. The amount of gear you'd have between 56 and 60 is like 700 gs and 750 gs today just because of the time required to reach 60. It wasn't alt friendly at all but it was rewarding to finally unlock your last few skills, and you could really tell who was dedicated to their class by the way they played and how high of a level they were.

Considering dropping Void Destructions for Olucas on PvE sets just for the 2% attack speed. Not sure if there's much more I can do in the offensive crystal space but I guess it opens up options for defensive ones?
It's a shame the only trade-off for defense generally is more AP e.g. All-Out Attack or Distos/Vahas, rather than attack speed or more crit damage. Or am I forgetting about something? Perhaps we need a new artifact type which focuses on offense rather than the defense that Kabuas gives.

Dehkia Ash 2 is now a good spot and it's always busy.

I spent a short while testing out regular Turos now that it's a solo spot. I took my main there so was massively overgeared but I think it could be an okay spot for characters just after season. I have an alt with TET Blackstar weapons and she is already over the AP cap with my normal crystals, so some Kabuas and the KD resist crystals from Ash and we're good to go.
The trash wasn't fantastic silver/h but it dropped loads of Caphras, and Turo's Blood and Hearts seem quite common too. To top it off I got the Lung so overall I'm rather happy with my experiment.
Might try Dekhia now and see how that is for my main.

I've actually been using Vicious Shadows since I set up my lightstones, back then I didn't want to sacrifice the defenses for that much damage. If you reached endgame and you need 30 hours of grind to get 30 bil, either you aren't in endgame or you are doing something really wrong. An agris hour at Darkseeker's Retreat, Dehkia 2 Ash Forest, Orzekea or Fortunate Pig Cave if you manage to find it active, should be close to 2.5bil on dry hours and 3bil+ on lucky hours. Doing some semi-afk lifeskill for a couple hours while you are working, or just staying alt tabbed, can bring somewhere close to 800m per hour. There are a handful of cooking recipes that can achieve this number or you can just barter for 2 refreshes per day for 1.2bil. Mercing for guild bosses is another alternative, or you can stack it on top of your semi-afk lifeskills, 30 minutes for 1.2bil in gold bars plus extras. Also, you should have an imperial delivery alt wearing your lifeskill gear when you aren't using it, wearing every lifeskill mastery event buff you can get, that's an easy 300m silver for 10 seconds of your time, 200m if you buy the meals. And then you have fishing as well, what is an average night of Velia Beach fishing? 700m?

If we add up, an unlucky hour of grind and 2 hours of a semi-afk activity, let's say 2 barter refreshes and the imperial daily delivery, we sit at 4bil per day. 4.7bil if you are bothering with fishing. 5.9bil for the days where you also find a guild to merc. As you can imagine, this number can go even higher when you take into account the lucky drops like a BON at the Pig Cave or a Limbo token which may drop once every 7-8 hours. Even if you do half of these and aim for the 4bil per day, that's only 1 hour of active grinding and 2 hours of semi-afk lifeskilling per day, to achieve the 30bil per week.

30 bil is like 10-14 days of afk fishing, if you add an hour of grinding you can easly make 30b in like 7-9 days

Anyone got any good dye examples for La Orzeca? I've tired a few but it either looks a bit mismatched when you have gloves/boots different to the body or very bland if you have everything the same.

Succ has stamina and shard issues. Awk is borderline impossible to grab because her SA rotation is with movement+zero stamina issues+almost every skill with cc+spiral can bypass FG, with new grab mechanics that means she can easily out cc you or destroy your stamina. Good awk mystic is probably the worst class you can play against in the game.

I don't think that the multiplayer aspect of Crimson Desert is the focus, it seems to me that PA is trying their hand at storytelling to try and make something akin to The Witcher, and the multiplayer is a bonus since they obviously have more experience there. We've basically gone about this the opposite manner, I have no Crons but ~50bil. With the free 10k coming soon and my silver I hopefully should also hit PEN. I just gotta get my Caphras now, and figure out if I am going to buy from the MP do I expect prices to increase again when the Sovereign Offhand is finally released.

This game needs more things like Gatekeepers and Mutant Trolls/Ogres (perhaps these aren't a perfect example since they are a bit silly to fight), more optional 'bosses', which I am envisioning as similar to those you might find hidden away in a Final Fantasy game.
There could be one designed for a party to fight which rewarded a 24h stat buff for each party member, or a super difficult one that gave a server-wide enhancement chance buff for a few hours, and of course they would drop decent loot as well.
There are plenty of places which are rarely used anymore, for example the Calpheon Shrine could have some sort of corrupted Priest of Kzarka down a back corridor or in the circular outer area when you've gone all the way through the shrine.
The Field Bosses are kind-of like that but they have become far too planned, and I also think they don't quite fit my idea since they need more people than a party to fight.
