Tera leveling was never this slow and tedious, at the very least you'd have the option of elite and double xp.
Not to mention a whole week of being 65 and doing dungeons daily and I'm yet to have a single gear piece. This server is incredibly lucky to have been blessed with the streamer audience, but it's clear as day most people are dropping off at the necro tomb grind, you can even see it on the graph on the site. There's barely any 65s doing content relative to the number of players online, the queues are pretty quiet.

Make mob farming actually doable in parties because this is an MMO with holy trinity and not BDO, and excluding healers from mob grind is extremely retarded. This will probably get buried in the ongoing "Classic is shit, actually" debate, but apologies for not being around these past couple of nights/mornings.
Spent much of yesterday trying to get my supposed "Dream Rig" working again (as seen here: >>1844444), to largely disappointing results.

Second 9800X3D is installed (first one was RMA'd), and it seems to be functioning as intended. Marks and temperatures during Cinebench24 looked just fine.
RAM slots on this motherboard have suddenly become a very big issue, however. Bought two new compatible DDR5 sticks (same ones as I used before in this setup), both of which are individually confirmed to work in testing. Yet nearly all arrangements of RAM result in the machine failing to survive POST.
Only installing a single stick into A2 (and /only/ A2) can get past POST and boot into BIOS or my OS. BIOS is on the latest version, its settings are defaults, and the CMOS has previously been cleared.

Additionally, trying to launch any vidya in this state has become incredibly inconsistent.
TERA Classic just crashes upon selecting the server, guaranteed. Guild Wars 2 only /sometimes/ loads, with most attempts hanging when rendering character select (yet sometimes it works just fine with all settings maxed, proving it's not a GPU-related issue). Etc.

At this point, I've come to the conclusion that there's no point in trying to work with this shoddy ASRock Taichi X870E motherboard any further, and am looking into just replacing it outright with something far more reliable.

If (You) have any suggestions for a respectable X870E motherboard, or even a solid B850 one which won't die-out on me in the short time it's taken this crappy ASRock Taichi to do the same, please let me know.

the leveling process was a bit more rough than i expected, took a week to get to 65 for me, no one is doing it in a weekend unless you're nolifing with a premade group and consider friday as part of that weekend

as a dps, sometimes ques would instant pop and sometimes take 20 minutes, it definitely slowed down with higher dungeons, and is going to slow down more as the hype starts to die down, further hindering new players

i think the fix would be just giving the story quests more xp so you aren't dependent on 'extracurricular' stuff for leveling, while it still won't be quick, at least you have a light at the end of the tunnel instead of just sitting around waiting for a dungeon que to pop or soloing some bams and zone quests which may or may not be a pain in the ass

i haven't even bothered to try 65 dungeons yet, and I already know SC and BR and RG so they aren't particularly interesting to me anyways, but I never did this version of dreadspire, however I expect you need to be geared for it

Very true. Leveling DPS is pretty rough, but healers are beyond fucked if they don't get through their leveling soon, before new players stop trickling in and the entire server is idling in Highwatch.
Soloing BAMs is feasible for most DPS classes when queues aren't going, but it's the slowest, most mind numbing shit imaginable as a priest or a mystic. If anyone wants to play a healer on classic, they'd better get to leveling one within the next couple of weeks at the very latest before queues dry up.

Managed to catch my first-ever population control party, culling the horrifying amount of ravenous bears on the otherwise-scenic outskirts of Velika. Can't be easy for merchants to make deliveries along these roads, when there's about 300 bears between them and their destination. How the hell did there get to be so many of these things...?
It's a shame the wildlife has grown so obscenely out-of-control around these parts, but hey, look on the bright side. There's something so inherently satisfying about bundling-up a giant Katamari of monsters, burning 'em all down, and standing triumphant over the mountain of corpses you and your allies just cleaved through.

Perhaps not as interesting as delving into dungeons with an expedition team, but there's no denying that these bear-culling sessions are most certainly an option to break through the awkward 58-60 bracket.
Only managed to snag about half a level at 59 before needing to bow-out, however. Maybe I'll catch the rest of it later today.

I believe what killed exploration was walk mode no longer allowing you to scale steep surfaces, they patched it so it would make you fall after a couple times. This version doesn't have that patch so we should be able to get anywhere in the game. Velika Wilds had a patch to prevent you from getting to it/scaling the top of Velika itself but I doubt this version has it. Very fucking strange the gooks even bothered doing that in the first place, though I vaguely recall pvp exploits was the reason.

Shame to say that if it's PvP you're after above all else, you might want to give Classic a shot instead, even if the version difference between the two servers might as well make it an entirely different game built atop the same foundation (v32 vs. v100).
Starscape is very much a PvE-focused server, so while you might find the rare attempt at Corsair's being formed over Global Chat and LFGs here-and-there, you shouldn't go in expecting to get your Arena fix by any means.

But unless things are somehow gear-equalized in the open world (which to my knowledge has never once transpired in these sorts of titles), there's not much counterplay beyond "bigger number win", be that in gear or army size.
That said, those immensely rare moments where the stars align for open world PvP, and you get into an actual, proper test of skill, are super memorable all the same. It's quite the dragon for many to chase.

It was fun exploring, it was fun skipping bams and getting bitten in the ass when the bams we decided not to fight was an instance boss and we didn't know its moveset. This whole drama is so hilarious I'm actually keeping my eyes glued to the server because I don't want to miss another implosion. From the mods saying these etchings drop in scn with a 6% chance, to only 5 people in the server having it and all of them allegedly being tied to the mods/the guild mods are in, to the trade being done between a level 32 player and whoever it is that got the etching, to the person that has the great etching and generation gear not even doing the endgame. Then there's also this (same ?) person that has special jewelry that they could obtain only with belli/ks credits before there were even enough people to do pvp and obtain these credits, and them telling players this jewelry drops from naturetune jewelry boxes... 10/10.

It's a combination of things building off themselves to form larger frustrations with the server.

- Ghillieglade had its entries massively reduced for Elite members without any of its resources being added to other dungeons, meaning anyone who didn't spam the hell out of it before is now at a noticeable disadvantage on the gear climb.
- The Horn Statue exploit was patched, so just as with GG, anyone who didn't capitalize to rack-up tons of Federation Bills is at a disadvantage both economically (through buying outfits to sell on the trade broker) and aesthetically.
- Recently implemented countermeasures against DDOS attacks have lead to unusually high skill delay for some players, even at low latency, basically making the game unplayable for those people.
- Mod corruption seems to be underfoot, with certain players getting etchings and gear well ahead of everyone else, possibly favors to summon items into inventories, etc. (This is pretty common on private servers in general due to there being no real oversight to keep admins/mods/GMs in check, but it's still never a good look).
- Class balance is moving at a glacial pace, with Gunner only getting a slap on the wrist despite being wildly stronger than everything else.
- Leveling still takes forever (fine for tanks, sucks for everyone else).
- DDOS/Injection attacks are getting old (not the server's fault, just the way it is).

The shine's starting to come off the apple for those who aren't already invested.

Here on Classic, I'm sitting on a pile of 14k in my bank at 64 and that's after blowing 3k on alkahest and zyrks.

Of course, even that's stingy compared to the patch 100+, that's set to shower you with gems every 15 minutes. I could dump 1k gold into bank every time I bothered to log in and had well over 100k by the cap doing fucking nothing. But the easier you get it the more worthless it feels.

Classic is based off of an early 2015 version of the game so it would be similar to that.

Newer dungeons are definitely harder than older ones though. Along with classes having more skills and other items giving shorter cooldowns and higher attack speeds making everything much higher APM.

Its problem in pvp is that it makes archer irrelevant. It needs some of its skills to have a larger CD and another damage nerf for pve and pvp and remove certain cc in both pve and pvp. This class literally prevents everyone else from doing damage, that needs to get removed or modded to make it so when enemies are launched they can still be attacked like normal instead of given an anti-melee iframe given to them by gunner

I can not for the life of me remember a single thing about classes in this game. What do you main and why? I've read though the class guide mentioned in the op but it doesn't give the greatest insight on playstyles.

There is three main roles. Tanking, healing, and dps. Every class plays pretty uniquely to itself.
I currently main Gunner on Classic because I had a Gunner alt on retail so I was already familiar with how it worked, but I mained a Valkyrie on retail. Valk is not available on Classic (yet). Not really any other reason. I don't even like ranged dps that much (gunner, archer, sorc, which all play very differently from each other btw).

Can't talk about PvP because I really dislike it to begin with in gear-based games. PvE balance is the most important part to me and Reaper doesn't even come close to feeling opressive - rather an all around good state that every class should meet at minimum.

The statistic shows it's even, by far, the least played class on the Sever.

Reaper was always fair, it's just easy cause it has access to 100% damage immediately rather than building up to it and the further geared people get the more average it becomes.

I got lucky with some dungeon runs with only the old classes and the difference was pretty dramatic. Tanking, nobody would steal aggro from me, even without spamming Challenging Shout. The bosses took a reasonable time to beat, and the screen wasn't full of aoe effect soup. Still, nobody was yelling how we weren't fast enough. It was actually fun.
