Appreciate the new thread, was M.I.A to make the next one this time around.
Would've shuffled the servers around in the OP to indicate Classic isn't our "first" server to favor anymore (and potentially swap-out Agaia for Classic-Europe after gathering some more information on it), plus the header is missing its expected title, but the rest looks solid.

Appears my departure from this title was especially short-lived...! Not missing-out on the chance to see new blood giving Starscape a proper shot for the first time, as the server's rather small population could certainly benefit from a little popularity boost.
Plus my 'rig is finally back in working order once again, thank goodness. From period-appropriate hardware during my brief time in Classic, to a proper 4k/240hz setup for Starscape, just as it should be.

Fair enough. This title has a long history of Anon-centric Guilds being spun-out and splintered-off. Were Clover not entirely dead, I gladly would've invited (You) and anyone else willing to give Starscape a shot over there, but them's the breaks.

Right, I'm aware the attacks have since moved on to Starscape, now that Classic has thoroughly unraveled itself at record pace. (Seriously, in the 20+ years I've been around the genre, I've never seen a server collapse quite that fast before. It's impressive, but certainly in a good way).

Previously, it was speculated that the showrunner for Akeron/Nova was behind the DDOS/Injection attacks on Classic, as they had planned to launch their own v31/v32 server in EU around the time NA's Classic received its unexpected surge in attention.
Since there'd be monetary incentive for Akeron's admin to keep more of TERA's splintered private server scene under their control, taking down their competition could've made sense. Disregarding the fact that absolutely nobody in their right mind from NA would want to play on an RU server, especially in a game as ping-reliant as this one...

The attacks on Starscape, however, have next to no such incentive. It's a very small server by comparison, maybe ~50-100 natives in total, and the markets for v32 and v100 don't usually overlap much.
Safe to say what Starscape is suffering from now comes entirely out of spite, from some immensely vindictive schizo wanting to make everyone else as miserable as they are. Incredibly frustrating, never seen anything like this on the wider private server circuit before for ANY title.

Oh geez, that's going back about ~12-13 years. Pretty sure it was "Valveris" or something, a Femani Lancer.
Was briefly in the original TFT on MT for a little bit around ~2012/2013 or so, but to be entirely honest with (You), the sheer tedium of the leveling process back then turned me off from the game on multiple occasions. Could never make it past the 40s or so before being too bored to carry on.
Didn't help that I was a rather shy sort during those days, psyching myself out from running most Dungeons (despite being a tank), and seldom ever saying anything in Guild Chat. Certainly wasn't a known figure by any means.
Even if v100 is about as far removed from those ancient days as you could get, and v32 is still a good ways off from a hypothetical v1.00 experience, I'm still glad to have given both Starscape and Classic a shot, if only to properly discover a title and community which I might've otherwise written-off unfairly.

Basically spoofs your ping to be a fake 0ms to the server. Functions sort of similarly to the latency plugin for XIV Alexander, if you ever used that mod launcher for FFXIV.
It's not perfect though, as you'll start getting animation rollbacks and dropped cooldowns (ghosting) if you're playing above ~150-185ms or so, with it happening more often the higher above that breakpoint you're sitting at when in combat.
If you're on the east coast of NA or living in the UK, you could probably play on Arborea without too much issue. If you're near the west coast of NA, Canada, or basically the entirety of SA, I would be wary of trying EU servers out.

Recently got an uptick in population due to Classic completely imploding on itself. Still a smaller server, but it's easier to find groups for dungeons now at least, and possibly Corsair's on weekends.

Well, if you're after action-y KMMOs specifically, I can vouch for both Vindictus and Dragon Nest. The former does have an official server still active to this day (and it's pretty fun to see how crazy recently-added characters can get), but the latter only has private servers to its name these days.
Believe DN in particular has its own "Classic" progression server, replicating the patch cycle of the original title, as well as another server which took the base of DN and went wild with custom content and such.
Either Vindi or DN might be worth looking into, if you're jonesing for a more mission and lobby-based experience.

RaiderZ is another rather unique and ambitious take on the action-MMO themepark, originally made by the team who developed the cult classic GunZ: The Duel. It only lasted just a couple of years on the market, and certainly carries the feel of being an unfinished project, but I had fun with it for a couple of weeks a while back.
There's two private servers for RaiderZ, to my knowledge. One closer to a "Classic"-esque experience with an emphasis on party-play (even very early on - it's quite difficult to roll solo when leveling), and another one features more content and slightly less dependency on partying up to get anything done. Not fantastic, per-say, but interesting in its own way.

There's also a private server up for the UE3 incarnation of the original Blade&Soul, if you're wanting to see what TERA's spiritual sibling might've been like.
Beautiful title for the engine it's in, and the Lyn are super cute (with decent slider-fu), but its gameplay isn't as intricate as what's offered in TERA. Very small NA population as well, sadly, if you're in that region.

Okay the Mabi new player experience is VERY confusing and intrusive. All I wanted to do was learn how to gather some herbs in the starter town because I saw the medicinal life skill, but some blonde NPC literally took me across the entire world and I had no idea where I was and no idea what they wanted me to do, and there were like 10 events going on, I was constantly getting free stuff and pets (12 character name limit and your pet names HAVE to be unique) and all this with a very limited inventory.

The guy that hosts this neolithic tera server only runs a PVE server right now, but says he's looking into starting a PVP server. If so, this would be ideal. The admin would be playing on the PVE server and would be impartial and unbiased to things that are happening on the PVP server. Additionally, the PVE server appears to be totally free with no p2w. I know some people were looking at Everyn after the classic fallout, but it's a pve server with some pvp stapled onto it, and the guy who runs it says the reason he made the server was to appeal to casuals that weren't able to complete the content on the main servers.

If you're interested, maybe hop into their discord and show interest in a pvp server, might raise the admin's priority on making the PVP server.

I mean it seems fine so far. Nothing jarring, and apparently you can kinda just go explore wherever you want without worrying about level, since it has global level-scaling. You can also solo everything in the game and set the difficulty level of dungeons. Basically if you want better loot you'd need to increase the difficulty which likely requires more people to help you out. Of course it has 0 sex/cute factor. The NPCs/character creation is fine but nothing to goon over.

For me at least, when I played OG tera, I always wanted to see how the game would feel if the servers were closer. I live in cali, so starscape gave me that opportunity for the first time. Also since I'm west coast NA, EU servers are more like 250ms for me. I've tried it before and it felt like shit even with SP. More power to the people who do it, but I'd rather just play other games than deal with that.

Not to mention most of the private servers have the shitty flying mount update with all those invisible walls that killed most means of adventuring to unfinished areas. I liked to goat out of bounds during queues and while socializing and that was a big chunk of my favourite TERA memories. I've been doing it on Classic and it's been a blast.

You're seeing so many amazing set pieces, gear, NPCs, monsters, BAMs, an entertaining story, getting some lore, and all with strangers out and about to adventure with. There's a lot of joy in resting by a quest hub campfire together and chatting or seeing someone pass you by while you're out killing stuff. Maybe someone will party invite and you can do quests together. Maybe a passerby kind healer will throw you buffs or heals while you're soloing a BAM. Maybe a cheeky DPS will outlaw flag and rape your ass while you were vulnerable. It's a good time.

You don't see the world in endgame only simulators. Everyone just AFKs in the highest level city and waits for a group. And it was a fucking ugly dark and dirty zone in Lost Ark. They do the same 3 raids each week, and then log off. Games should never have to feel like a job you have to get over with and then be relieved to leave as soon as it's done. Levelling in TERA feels like a fulfilling hobby. A little bit of work, but a labour of love. Very fun. It's not quite complete but always thinking about it and can't wait to go back to it.

From what I understand in the Classic discord, it's weakness in the infrastructure of Tera itself, since at the end of the days, it's spaghetti codes, and there's like hundred of these that have to be patched, and you know how things like that end up...

He's probably just using well known/common SQL injection methods. However, these can't really be blocked from the DB end. The server software would need to be patched. It looks like it is old leaked binaries these servers are probably running. So that makes it extremely hard to fix without a lot of reverse engineering I would be inept at.

However, if he is indeed using some 'skiddie level SQL Injection attacks you may be able to just intercept them with Suricata then automatically block the IPs with fail2ban. You might even be able to do it with some pre-canned rules if you're lucky.

Although I admit it might not be so trivial depending.

Difficult but not undefendable. If game server and database are running on separate machines you could put a network-based SQL firewall between them and log all sql queries and match regex patterns or enforce query structures or block unauthorized queries. I just don't know how that would impact the games performance and this is based on the idea that this even is unsanitized raw sql from the server application. Also complex to setup and most likely expensive eg. Imperva, IBM Guardium.

An alternative would be inline network inspection using IDS/IPS like Snort or Suricata and write rules to match SQL injection attempts in TDS. (If running SQL Server).

This is a custom V100.02 server (Pacific Northwest America) that at its core value removes Apex and Exodor.

That does mean some changes are afoot!
1. Avatar weapons have been nerfed from double crit rate to 25% crit rate.
2. Equipment progression has been fully reduced to level 60, though VM2 is level 70, as it is the max level.
3. Endgame bosses have pet versions that are very rare and are distributed to the whole party when they drop.
4. Elite everful nostrum has been changed to minor battle solution and 100% exp bonus removed.
5. Flying mounts, servants, skill advancements, and phys/magic stats are not present.
6. Gearing progression is basic 60->Steadfast->Wonderholme->Nightforge.

While the wider state of TERA's private server 'scene might still be under siege by some nebulous hacking group (or just one guy with a colossal vendetta), Starscape has indeed been spared from the endless assault of crashes and unplanned downtime. As such, those who were once second-guessing their time here have returned with renewed interest, myself included.

Been playing quite a bit with the newbloods from Tired's new Guild as of late.
While I still hold some reservations about integrating with a predominantly normalfag crew such as this one (certainly not my usual preference for titles such as these), the folks I've ran expeditions with so far have been alright at least, and it's novel to see wide-eyed first impressions to time-honored v100 customs from those freshly learning of them. Plus, knowing there's a non-zero amount of Anon lurking within its ranks (most of which I happened to know during my time in Clover) does help pave-over some of the Guild's more bristly parts for me.

Priest doesn't have to worry about Lock-ons much, as you'll always be running the Velocity augment on Group Heal, and the only real healing spell you'd need to gain a target lock with is Healing Immersion which is strictly single target anyway.
Don't use Auto-Lock/Auto-Heal/Auto-Cleanse from the Toolbox, those are all bannable offenses on Starscape.

Classic's endgame is honestly not that different from levelling, it's more like a natural extension of it which is why I assume some people can't fathom the difference. Especially if they never touch anything even remotely challenging and just farm braindead shit all day.

After trying out Zerker in Ardborea, it will feel bad to go back to Classic.
It has everything the class needs...

1. A fucking charge in the form of Overwhelm instead of having to rely on Leaping strike + Lethal Strike to escape stuff.
2. A normal I-frame roll instead of just having E-smash and they don't even charge CD
3. Tenacity has a 9k heal on top of the 900 MP without having to Glyph the 12% heal (and it stack with the 12% heal anyway)
4. Lethal Strike is now an instant skill that is now part of your BnB and is actually super powerful both in PVP and PVE
5. All movement restriction on charging skills removed

From what I've read so far it seem a lot of the Apex changes made the other classes kind of shitty but so far I've only seen improvement on the Berserker side of things.

Maybe for something like CW, but every other Dungeons in endgame Classic can actually kill you even with a healer, or has actual mechanic that you need to dodge/block.

Even something like RG can kick your ass multiple times if you don't pay attention (many people dies to the fucking phantom Bird attacks on the first and second boss).

BRNM, let alone HM, ask you to use your skills and CC, and to respect the last boss.

SCNM (Haven't done HM yet) waves of mobs being basically a gear/skill check for the first boss is cool, having to respect the second boss laser if your dps gear isn't good enough is cool as well, and Darkan being a step above whatever you had been fighting so far is pretty cool.

You are correct, but my point was that while it's indeed a step up compared to levelling it's not as much of a jump compared to apex servers where nothing is the same as levelling, your class got 10x more complex to play and bosses are three times as fast as they used to be, even in the lowest tier of dungeons.
Of course harder content on classic gives the same endgame vibe, but 99.9% of people on the server never even touched SCH or DSU.

I'm in the camp that leveling should be a journey, which it totally has been for me in Classic.
Visiting all the vistas the game had to offer, getting a group going and getting to the dungeons, doing normal yellow quests on the road and the MSQ stuff, while killing BAMs when I see them, was honestly very fun.
Tera art direction is phenomenal.

One thing that also seriously shocked me was that the game actually rewarded you for visiting stuff out of bonds.
I don' think I've ever seen a MMO do that, usually devs would patch these sort of things out real quick.
Meanwhile the Tera devs put those World of Wordscraft things and achievement in these crazy spots, that's so cool and funny.

The only real bad thing I could say about Tera (in classic at least) was that the BGM and OST of the game is surprisingly super weak and generic, but from what I heard it improved a lot in this regard later down the line.
(I say surprisingly because usually OST/BGM are usually one of the main appeal of KRMMOs game, even from those in 00s like Flyff, RO, Mabinogi...etc).
