Counterside is an urban fantasy gacha game with gameplay similar to battlecats. A spiritual sequel is coming soon called Star Savior.
The game is generous but getting close to being in maintenance and content updates are slow. The game isn't shutting down though so it wouldn't be difficult to play and catch up on the story if you are interested in the sequel.
Just reroll for a strong awakened dps character and they can carry you.

My pc build got delayed a week, new test came out showing the AIO I got specifically sucks just for my particular CPU. I was very frustrated because I had done so much research and thought I had made a good choice. Had to send it back and the replacement won't be here until next wednesday. I quit a few months after new origin and have been lurking csg ever since to see that it has never recovered after that disaster. Too many red flags to stick around especially the creator abandoning his child, whether you call it a PR move or not. Anything positive afterwards were just temp bandaid solutions that only held it together for a month or two, only to take two steps back again with poor decisions later.

Watching some CZN looks like a fun roguelike done right, but I don't wanna pick up another gacha yet. They also likely fucked it up by trying to make it a progression based roguelite. What that usually means is that the dev intends you to not win X times, so you unlock permanent buffs and there's nothing more boring than that.

I have a nice local store that listens to what you want, what money you wanna spend and gets it all ready with the experience of what's actually good.

I think the whole whale skin system is part of what fucked them at new origin. Every whale already spends enough to get them so there's no extra money there and I really doubt that many f2p or low spenders became whales for the sake of obtaining these skins. You end up with barely anyone actually spending any money on these skins but you still get the bad optics of being a whale game that sells $400 skins.
