I got all 8 Kanto badges in gen 2. no point in even attempting Red; I'll end the Nuzlocke on a high note. I had quite a few casualties (Xatu, Rhydon, even the Primeape I EXP Share trained) but I still managed to beat 97.5% of the game. it's crazy how much easier the early gens are compared to gen 5.
>>57844342this is 99% the same type of tranny to spam spadeson edits btw
Tried to do a Ice Monotype run with following rules on Photonic Sun:
- Level caps
- No items from bag
- Set mode
Wiped to Hala so many times that I gave up. Unless you EV train or get Jynx and/or Frosslass, it's an uphill battle.
With same rules, I will try some other meme runes like Gen2 only, mono steel/electric, gifts only etc. Thought of other similar romhacks but dropped the idea later on. Renegade Platinum as fairy types which I don't like in Gen4 games. Blaze Black2 (Redux as well) is set on Unova which I don't like at all.
>>57844485Weird. You're absolutely sure it didn't use Future Sight again? That's the only explanation I can think of.
>>57845381I don't remember what moves it did those two turns, but it definitely wasn't Future Sight. it did two other attacks and then Future Sight 2 electric boogaloo happened.

Kriss Krass Dynamaxes and hits Gossifleur with Max Knuckle. Gossifleur uses Rapid Spin again.
Another Max Knuckle gets the KO.
>Eldegoss
I decide to go for Max Strike for high damage, but it only does about half, and then Max Overgrowth sets Grassy Terrain and heals Eldegoss. Kriss Krass reverts.
Max Overgrowth hits hard, leaving Kriss only 10 HP, and he hits back with Revenge sending Eldegoss in the red.
Thankfully, Kriss is faster than Eldegoss, and gets the KO with Tackle.

EV training guys for some future Littlemon teams. It's frustrating how the Ice trainer is often the hardest when Ice is the worst defensive type pretty much. I'm planning for Mankey and Sneasel to bro-up on a future team. One of these on any team could be crucial anyway.

Hello everyone, im back.
I will be doing pokemon nuzlockes starting from gen 1 all the way to gen 9. In order it will be firered, heartgold, emerald, platinum, black, white 2, x, ultrasun, sword and scarlet.
The idea is this. I can't catch a pokemon I have again but this also counts for the other games. For example if I used Zubat in one nuzlocke, I can't use it in another nuzlocke, if you get my drift.
Other than that, it will be the same usual rules. Lose a pokemon, it's dead. Can only get one pokemon per area. Starter pokemon is chosen based on the last number of my ID, 123 grass, 456 fire and 789 water. If 0 then I can choose.
Think of this as one long nuzlocke with all the games. If I lose a battle, I move onto the next game. Only battles that don't matter are first rival battles because you can't given any time to prepare.
A bit of a wild ride to the finish line
After grinding up two new teammates after another awful fumble near the end, it was finally time to take on the league. Sidney and Phoebe were easily taken out by Naphtha and Trachea, respectively, but already at Glacia things started happening. Brush the Third started out strong, taking out her two Sealeos, but her first Glalie just barely survived a Water-type Weather Ball and used an Icy Wind. This was barely enough to have it outspeed and use Crunch, which meant the second Glalie would absolutely outspeed. I switch out to Naphtha who takes a Shadow Ball with ease, doing about half with Thunderbolt, but then the thing decides to use Explosion...and gets a critical hit, killing Naphtha. Luckily Brush the Third was able to take out Walrein with a Thunder, but now we were already at the backleg. Drake was thankfully not too much trouble, Brush oneshotting everything but Kingdra who puts up a bit of a fight, but thankfully goes down after a few Ice Beams to the face.
(cont.)
With Naphtha dead, what I had in mind as my main answer to Wallace, I was at a bit of a loss for what to do, putting Trachea first, intending to put a heavy dent in his team before dying a martyr's death. Trachea seemed to have other plans, two-shotting Walrein (taking a weakened Water Spout) and oneshotting Tentacruel with a crit, leaving Ludicolo to Grumblinda who Aerial Aces the annoyance to death. Milotic poses a big threat, nothing that I have left can really deal with it reliably, I send in Peter Eater expecting to have to sacrifice him too, but he powers through the menace with only a Toxic to show for it, leaving only two. Dainty Dan comes in on an Earthquake from Whiscash, paralyzes it with Stun Spore which procs immediately for a free turn, Giga Drain ending up critting to oneshot the thing anyway. Gyarados is Stun Spored as well, I sense a Hyper Beam coming after a Dragon Dance so I send in Trachea, it does and she nulls it. Thunderbolt just barely misses out on the kill, but once again we are saved by a lucky paralysis proc, allowing us to try again and again as Wallace heals until we get a high damage roll, ending the fight with no deaths, and only one death overall in the league. The early loss of Naphtha was unfortunate, second Regice I've trained up and then lost in the Hoenn league, but so be it, I managed to champ not only Castform but Beautifly of all mons, I'm pretty dang happy about that all things considered. Stoked about finally getting to move on from Gen 3, it's been a long ride, but now the DS generations await!
>Wurmple is pure bug-type, not poison
huh
>>57862518holy shit, people have been doing the Orre games as nuzlockes? How does that even work for encounters? Aren't you like forced to fight the same trainer with a shadow pokemon in each area? Though, I suppose it could be a little easier in some respects since you can't do 100% completion.
Day 1.
My Kanto adventure kicked off with receiving a fiery Charmander from Professor Oak before stepping out of Pallet Town. I quickly began filling my team, catching a Pidgey, a scrappy Mankey, a Ratatta, and a Caterpie in Viridian Forest—who soon evolved into a stoic Metapod. After passing through the calm of Viridian City, I arrived in Pewter City, ready to face my first true challenge: Gym Leader Brock. Mankey came through clutch, bringing down both Geodude and Onix with well-timed Low Kicks. But the victory was bittersweet. Not long after, I faced a trainer whose Spearow unleashed five relentless Fury Attacks. My brave Charmander fell in battle—my first loss, and a painful one. Pressing on, Metapod emerged from its cocoon as a full-fledged Butterfree, and I added a feisty Spearow to my ranks. I now stand just before Mt. Moon, my journey only beginning—but already marked by triumph and tragedy.
my Lv. 24 Gastly just fucking died. I got into a double battle with it in battle because it had the EXP share and I wanted to get 75% EXP. unfortunately, the opponent had a Murkrow with Pursuit. I didn't switch out, but Golem missed Rock Blast and Gastly's Hypnosis also missed. (if just one would have hit, Gastly would have survived.)
>>57862615Since the encounters work so differently in the Orre games, I just about completely eschew the normal encounter rule, instead just making it so that I only have one shot to capture each Pokemon and a fail is a fail. I figure that the original capture rule is there to give you a limited amount of Pokemon where you might be forced to use some you usually wouldn't, in the Orre games you choices are limited by default and I usually go for unconventional options anyway, so I'm fine with being loose with the rule as long as I follow the others stringently
>>57862650>>57863589Rip.
Gastly is great but so frail
>>57863964Gengar is great but Gastly is a dud stage. I got greedy for EXP and shouldn’t have sent him out. You also shouldn’t evolve Gastly too early because Gengar has a lot of trouble dealing damage without a special attack (Shadow Ball). I got too impatient in a previous run once and ended up losing Gengar in battle because of it.
>>57857430but it is my Staraptor who is attacking first, sorry if I worded that wrong. Staraptor switches in and takes a -1 DClaw, and then outspeeds and kills Salamence
>TURN 1Enemy Sceptile uses Screech
Staraptor U-turns and OHKOs
(My) Flygon switches in
Enemy Sceptile faints and Enemy Salamence switches in
>TURN 2Flygon U-turns
Staraptor switches in
Enemy Salamence uses DClaw
>TURN 3Staraptor OHKOs Enemy Salamence with Brave Bird (!)
Staraptor was slower and should've fainted to the faster Salamence right there. You can check the video I linked to see how it plays out
>>57860908yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way. I just keep repelling the area until she leaves now.
>>57865008>>57856616Trainers who use perfect IV Pokemon aren't in the pool until your streak is in the 40s. The Salamence you OHKO'd had a lower speed stat

Gen 4 is off to a roaring start, Sondheim managing to get a clean sweep on Roark thanks to a lucky Hidden Power type, not even needing the help of the other two. I'm pretty stoked about getting to spruce up my Sinnoh runs quite a bit, already seeing two interesting catches in Lotad and Ralts thanks to the Dual-Slot method and the Pokeradar, respectively. I'm curious to find out what more I'll be able to find, it sure beats the usual Bidoof and Starly
Day 2.
I ventured into the shadowy depths of Mt. Moon and caught myself a Zubat, training him as we pressed forward through the cavern's twists and turns. Along the way, I claimed a Helix Fossil—perhaps a sign of hope for the future. Once I emerged into daylight, I caught an Ekans and made my way into Cerulean City. Feeling confident, I headed north to the famed Nugget Bridge. But that’s when fate struck. My rival, Twat, challenged me—and this would mark the end of my Kanto journey. I’d taught Mankey Rock Tomb to counter his Pidgeotto, but the bird struck first, bringing Mankey down. I managed to take out some of his team, but his Squirtle became a merciless executioner—defeating Zubat, Ratatta, Pidgey, Butterfree, and Spearow one after another. With all my Pokémon gone, I was forced to abandon my dream and flee Kanto. My adventure had come to a bitter end... or so it seemed. I’ve since made it to Johto, where a new journey awaits. As for Ekans—he wasn’t with me during the battle. Left behind, he slithered back into the wild, free but forgotten.
>>57866396What romhack is this? How do you get Lotad in Sinnoh before Roark?
>>57844342Why do people make these posts in the first place?
>>57866468It's the vanilla game, but I copied the save onto a second copy of Diamond, finished the game and got the national dex on the second save, so now any Pokemon I catch on that file will match the main file that I'm now nuzlocking. I'm still following capture rules as I'd usually do, but now I have a chance of getting something that's not just the standard 4 mons that are in all DPPt nuzlockes. Lotad I got on Route 204 by inserting Sapphire in the second slot and using a Repel that I found on Route 203 to avoid Budew, Ralts was actually guaranteed on Route 204 because all the other encounters were either excluded by Dupes Clause (Starly, Shinx, Bidoof) or Champs Clause (Abra), so I just needed to be patient with the Pokeradar until it appeared (otherwise it's a 10% encounter)
Ralts was actually guaranteed on Route *203 (always mix up those two)
>>57844318 (OP)Are there any rebalance hacks of XY that actually make it hard?
Even with multiple rulesets the game is A mashingly easy.
Questions:
1. Is it okay to hack in rare candies for a nuzlocke of romhacks? Grinding sucks balls
2. Do I have to be good in VGC/Smogon or other competitive battles to beat those romhacks?
I tried Renegade Platinum and was filtered before second gym.
>>57866928There's Eternal X and Wilting Y on Rebalanced and Insanity mode. Insanity mode has a lots of doubles, triples and rotation battles.
I couldn't get past Korrina on Rebalanced mode of Wilting Y on nuzlockes.
Ancestral X is there which is "built for nuzlocking".
>>57867319>1. Is it okay to hack in rare candies for a nuzlocke of romhacks? Grinding sucks ballsit's your challenge man, ultimately the rules are self imposed and you have to decide for yourself whether you're ok with that. lots of people do it, others don't. nobody's gonna come knock on your door and take away your license to nuzlocke. you just have to figure if you can feel good about doing it or not.
>>57867319while it is your run, you're clearly looking for validation, so what I would do is: If you can grind for ~20 minutes against wild pokemon (on speedup) and reach your goal, I'd say keep grinding. There are definitely areas of wild pokemon where there still is a significant risk of a loss (emerald victory road). If you have a vs seeker, then always just grind as trainer battles are always going to have significant risk. Otherwise, I would candy it up to the current cap.
>>578673191. Use candies if it makes the challenge more fun for you. Personally I'm never going back to grinding, its fucking boring.
2. Not at all, playing against another person is a completely different skill set. The important thing in nuzlockes is knowing how the trainer ai works and your basic pokemon knowledge.
>>57867379My only reason for asking is because as the name implies Rare Candy is actually rare. But I guess if I am already playing a romhack, it doesn't really matter.
>>57867555This sounds like a good idea. Thanks.
>>57868417>The important thing in nuzlockes is knowing how the trainer ai works and your basic pokemon knowledgeDo you have some references to this? I found view videos talking about how switch AI works but I want to know more.
>>57867319>romhacksPersonally, I don't use Rare Candies but if you're playing romhacks: I say go for it. Romhackers don't know shit about game balance, so you have to fight bullshit with bullshit.
Another solo victory courtesy of Sondheim, although that's not so unexpected for a Fire type in a Grass gym. Roserade was a bit of a nuisance as it hit Stun Spore and had Sondheim locked for three whole turns, but he got his revenge with a crit Flame Wheel that knocked it out clean. I'm starting to remember how much easier Diamond and Pearl are compared to Platinum, but I can't allow myself to become complacent, hubris is one of the biggest killers in my runs, things can take a turn at any moment.
>>57867319 I feel like it depends on the romhack really, I would generally advise against using Rare Candies in nuzlockes just because the grinding is another thing that makes losses so meaningful, that's time and dedication you put into that mon, it should hurt a lil (at least if you go by the original spirit of the challenge). That being said, in romhacks that are designed to fuck you over I feel like it's justified, you're kinda meant to trial and error those, so at that point you're just saving yourself the time.
>>57870420Cool monkey. Roserade is kinda scary and strong. I've always liked the Roselia line

Yanma is pretty strong too. Deerling and Koffing are support and extremely valuable to the team. Lileep is like the weird one of the group. It won't be killed by almost anything. Snorunt is the random member with Protect and Moody.
Pretty good team when most guys can cover for each other if things start going south. My rule is to have a reliable strat but this time I made an exception and let Snorunt's Moody come into play (it does beat Froslass 8 times out of 10. Day 3.
My Johto adventure begins with receiving a Chikorita from Professor Birch. While it’s not the strongest choice, I accept the challenge and commit to making the most of it. With my new partner by my side, I set off toward Violet City. Along the way, I build up my team—catching a watchful Hoothoot, a sturdy Geodude, a sneaky Spinarak, and a determined Bellsprout. I spend what feels like an eternity scouring Dark Cave for a rare Dunsparce, but persistence pays off, and I finally catch one. Upon reaching Violet City, my luck continues as I manage to catch a Mareep to round out my growing squad. Now, with a diverse team and fresh resolve, I prepare to take on my first Gym Leader tomorrow. A new region, a new team, and a second chance at greatness. Johto, let’s see what you’ve got.

Day 4.
I explored the mysterious Ruins of Alph and managed to catch an Unown—an odd addition to my team, but a curious one. From there, I trained in the Sprout Tower, where I also caught a mischievous Ghastly lurking among the shadows. Feeling prepared, I challenged Violet City’s Gym Leader, Falkner. Despite being blinded by several Sand Attacks, Geodude stood firm and managed to take down Pidgey with raw determination and a barrage of Tackles. Then Mareep stepped up, zapping Pidgeotto with Thunder Shock and even paralyzing it to slow the bird’s aerial assault. With Falkner defeated, I earned my first Johto Gym Badge. I set my sights on Azalea Town next, trekking through the winding tunnels of Union Cave. Along the way, I caught a feisty Sandshrew, and just outside the cave, I added a carefree Hoppip to my party. Now in Azalea Town, my journey continues to unfold—stronger, wiser, and more hopeful than ever.

In Azalea Town, I uncover a disturbing plot—Team Rocket is harvesting Slowpoke Tails for profit. Determined to stop them, I descend into Slowpoke Well to confront the grunts. During the skirmishes, my Mareep evolves into a proud Flaaffy, and I manage to catch a Slowpoke amid the chaos. The showdown with Executive Proton follows. Geodude makes short work of his Zubat with a solid Rock Throw, and when Hoothoot is poisoned by Proton’s Koffing, Geodude steps in again to finish the fight. With Team Rocket driven out, peace returns to the town—for now. I continue through Ilex Forest and catch an Oddish among the lush foliage. Then comes my next challenge: Azalea Gym Leader Bugsy. His Scyther, a dangerous Bug/Flying type, goes down instantly to Geodude’s Rock Throw. Ghastly handles Metapod easily, exploiting its limited move pool, and Hoothoot finishes Kakuna with a flurry of Pecks. Victorious once more, I set off toward Goldenrod City. Along the way, I encounter and catch a Drowzee before finally arriving in the bustling heart of Johto—Goldenrod, where new opportunities (and challenges) await.

Also it feels like a bit of a meme. If you have time to set up evasion then you have the time to set up something like dragon dance/nasty plot and have a guaranteed sweep.
>>57878769Switch to a mon that isn't made of tissue paper and weak to electric?
>>57876622It's just like other anon, said, the time you spend on evasion can be spent on setting up attack or speed, and the ai just hits through your +6 anyway.
>get lucky enough to catch Gible>some Roselia kills it from green with a crityeah, I'm deleting this file. I simply cannot escape the curse of crits.
to think I caught an Abra at full health (like 27% odds) with a Twisted Spoon (10% chance iirc) and also a Clefairy in Mt. Coronet (never seen one in Platinum before, didn't even know they appeared there). maybe this is why people hack infinite Rare Candies.
>>57878815Geodude was already out. I guess I could have switched to Kadabra but Spark is a physical move.
>>57880561Man, the worst luck i've ever had with crits was sa Bidoof critting back to back in the early Platinum game before i fled. There's only so many times it can be stated how bad your luck is.

Also why tf are you using in gible in real fights? Leave it in the box or something until it gets to gabite at least.
I feel like you're just playing badly and blaming it on bad luck.
So a few days ago I started a Seaglass nuzlocke. Never posted anything because nothing interesting happened until now because Maxie's Ursaring killed my Swampert WITH GRAV APPLE WHAT THE FUCK WHY
Day 6
Before facing Goldenrod City’s Gym, I decide to grind and strengthen my team. I head north and catch a Nidoran, then enter the Bug-Catching Contest in the National Park. I manage to catch a Kakuna—not exactly a prizewinner, but it'll have to do. I also catch a wild Stantler roaming nearby. With my team bolstered, I return to Goldenrod, ready to challenge the infamous Gym Leader, Whitney—though I’ll admit, her... distracting presence nearly threw me off. Once the battle began, Geodude crushed her Clefairy with two clean Rock Smashes. Then Flaaffy came in clutch, paralyzing the dreaded Miltank with Thunder Wave. With the cow slowed, Geodude hammered her down with more Rock Smashes and sealed the win. My third Johto Gym Badge in hand, I set out for Ecruteak City. On the way, some milestones unfold—Chikorita evolves into a proud Bayleef, and Geodude transforms into a mighty Graveler. I even catch a fiery Growlithe before stepping into the historic streets of Ecruteak, where ghosts and legends await.
>>57881014yeah, I'm only now starting to feel some burn-out. guess I'll take an actual break.
>>57881021true
>>57881311maybe you're right but it seems I'm never safe from being killed by a crit while in green health
>>57881651Is this ai con?
>>57882075A break might serve you good in the long run. It's good to step back a bit and come back with a new perspective.
Been gone for a while, and I've decided to reboot my runs alongside 4chan getting rebooted itself. Twist is I will be replaying hacked versions of the games to spice things up a bit. Here I'm playing Red++; for those unfamiliar with the ROM, it's basically Red+ with some new content, QoL changes Pokemon, moves, the Phys/Spec split, bug fixes and trainers. Other than that, it's still Red--the singular Special stat is intact, and all that Gen 1 jank goodness.
My team got absolutely mogged towards the end of Mt. Moon because there's a one-two punch of a Rocket Leader with a high level Murkrow, and the Fossil dude has a shiny Umbreon. Besides that, it's been an uneventful run. Mankey and Weepinbell made Brock and Misty respectively a breeze.
nuzlocking Whitney's Miltank actually brings the terror of that thing back. I was planning to curse it before I looked up that they gave it an anti-ghost ability in HGSS. She even has a decent chance to kill a level 19 female Heracross with just a couple flinches if you don't grind a thousand zubats for EVs so it outspeeds. I was thinking being autistic enough to get a same-level heracross for the miltank was humiliating enough, but it can just straight up lose to it very easily anyway.
My first Nuz Locke in 4 years
Any tips ?
Day 7.
While in Ecruteak City, I step in to chase off a Team Rocket grunt harassing a Kimono Girl—just one more reminder that those creeps are everywhere. I decide to hold off on challenging the Gym for now and head east toward Mahogany Town. Along the way, I catch a determined Machop, then press north toward the Lake of Rage, picking up a quirky Girafarig en route. I hear tales of a mysterious red Gyarados lurking in the lake, but without a way to reach it, I’m forced to pass on the opportunity—for now. Instead, I set my sights west and journey to Olivine City. On the road, I expand my team with a loyal Magnemite and a strong Miltank. Once in Olivine, I find the Gym Leader, Jasmine, tending to a sick Ampharos in the lighthouse. She asks me to fetch medicine from Cianwood City, but there’s a catch—I still don’t have Surf. My path is now clear, but I’ll need to find a way across the sea before I can help, challenge Jasmine, and continue my climb toward greatness.
>>57884166Always have at least a couple of Antidotes on hand.
>>57882075You can't think of it as "I'm in green health so I'm safe" you have to consider the matchup. Like gible is squishy as fuck at that stage and doesn't resist grass, just eyeballing it you can guess that a normal hit could do over half your health, meaning you're dead to crit.
Grass resists are so common you probably have something that could switch into roselia's grass moves and take barely any damage, crit or not.
Also if you're struggling maybe drop the whole boxing your starter thing.
>>57882075pokerogue is a good "break" that doesn't quite feel like a nuzlocke but is still fairly challenging (though after you start to get your first few passives and rare egg moves, the game begins to break)

>>57883715Take the Geodudepill anon, it's one of the best lines for Johto.
>>57885904male geodude vs. whitney is russian roulette
You can sim out using the male trade onix and a male geodude both trying to screech + rock tomb or just rock tomb the miltank and still lose someone like 1/5 times from bad luck on flinches, attracts, and crits. If your geodude doesn't roll female you have to overprepare for that fight to a comical degree for it to be fully locked up.
>>57884166Hey, welcome back and nice shiny! Always plan around getting critted and have spare antidotes. Train up a full team just so you have stuff to pivot around.
>>57886123It's a bit of a struggle no matter how much you prepare, but Geodude has always been fantastic for Johto, from checking early gym leaders to checking Team Rocket's self-destruction antics.
I thought new gen nuzlockes were easy but my whole team just got destroyed by Katy's tera bug teddiursa lmao.
doesn't help that I accidentally got rid of my starter early, restarting.

Maxie's Ursaring killed Swampert with Grav Apple (?????)
So apparently Thunderous Kick is Electric-type in this game, and a Dodrio just murdered my Gyarados
Flygon died because Dragon Dart didn't killed Drake's Mence.
I sent Primeape to revenge kill him with Outrage, but Mence was faster and Moxie Dragon Claw did a a lot even with Eviolite, then Steelix came out and Earthquake'd him.
Banette was a sacrifice against Wallace's Tentacruel
And Magmortar was the last sacrifice, against Milotic.
Day 8.
I return to Ecruteak City and descend into the eerie Burned Tower for some training. There, I catch a smog-spewing Koffing to add to my collection. Feeling confident, I challenge the local Gym Leader, Morty. Girafarig absolutely dominates the battle—wiping out Ghastly and the first Haunter with Confusion, then finishing Gengar and the second Haunter with Psybeam. Morty’s team never even touched her; it was a flawless victory. With my fourth badge secured, I revisit the Lake of Rage—this time with Surf in hand. I make my way to the center and face the majestic red Gyarados. The battle is fierce, but I manage to catch it. Its crimson scales shimmer—truly a sight to behold. Riding the momentum, I surf across Johto’s waters, catching a Goldeen and exploring previously unreachable places. In my wandering, I unintentionally cross the border into Kanto and even snag a Tentacool along the way. Realizing where I am, I turn back—my journey in Johto is far from over.
>>57887579>restart>fire snom in first tera raid>toxel in the second oneOh cool we just win
I was having a smooth platinum run when a geodude one-shotted my gyarados with a critical hit self-destruct. I was training that gyarados for fantina. I have no idea how to beat her now.

Day 9.
I Surf my way to Cianwood City, catching a Krabby along the way. During the journey, my Flaaffy evolves into a powerful Ampharos, and I also reel in a graceful Mantine. Upon reaching Cianwood, I collect the medicine needed to heal the sick Ampharos at Olivine’s lighthouse. I Surf back across the ocean, deliver the medicine, and watch as the Ampharos recovers—its light shining once again across the coast. With Olivine restored, I hear word that the Safari Zone has finally opened. Though I choose not to enter the zone itself, I explore nearby areas and catch a fierce Tauros, a playful Seel, and a sturdy Onix inside Cliff Cave.
After that detour, I return to Mahogany Town, where I uncover a hidden Team Rocket base. Teaming up with the powerful trainer Lance, I begin an infiltration mission. As we battle through waves of Rocket grunts, I take on two of their Executives—Petrel and Ariana. Against Petrel, my red Gyarados brings down Zubat and Koffing, while Graveler crushes Raticate. During my clash with Ariana, Graveler again leads the charge, smashing her Arbok and Honchkrow. Lance’s Dragonite swoops in to defeat her Gloom. With Team Rocket driven out, peace returns to Mahogany. It turns out their sinister operation involved forcibly evolving Magikarp in the Lake of Rage. Fortunately, we shut it down before they could go any further.
I am baffled by the game design aspect of these romhacks.
Why do these romhacks have Smogon tier sets for enemy trainer battles? What purpose does it serve? It's not like fighting the battles in a romhack help you at Smogon ladder. Neither does the Smogon battles help in Nuzlockes.
Every other romhack has this same problem. Doing nuzlockes of these games seems even more pointless because in Smogon, it is assumed that you sacrifice a mon to get some advantage (Memento, Exploding Heatran, etc.). Am I supposed to prepare for each trainer with things like damage calc and spreadsheets? It seems like I am missing a point here.
>>57890732>she doesn't know the nosepass line keep their jew gold hidden in the mt coronet's basement lake
I caught had Houndour and had him on EXP share training. I encountered a Lv. 26 Girafarig as a new encounter but most of my mons are really strong at this point; almost too strong for Girafarig. I used Growl like 4 times on top of an Intimidate and sent out my Lv. 25 Houndour. I used Smog like 4 times but it never triggered poison. finally, Girafarig used Stomp against Houndour for the first time and it 1-shotted Houndour with a critical hit.
>>57892501>Am I supposed to prepare for each trainer with things like damage calc and spreadsheets?yes, actually. those types of hacks are designed to be nuzlocked by streamers who do exactly that.
>>57892797Where's the fun in that? Why don't they play competitive at that point?
>>57893162Its completely different from playing competitive?
Nuzlocking hard hacks like that is like a puzzle. You can't solve fights against another person like you can with an ai that has consistent rules. Also last time I checked you don't have to deal with permadeath on the showdown ladder.
If you don't like that kind of thing just don't play it. I'm not into having to calc everything either,
We're all playing a children's game with self made autistic rules, relax.
>>57893184>If you don't like that kind of thing just don't play it.Vanilla games are easy. Recommended romhacks all have that same issue which makes Nuzlockes devoid of fun.
I guess it's time to move on from Pokemon.
>>57893217Honestly just get good. There are plenty of romhacks that are beatable without calcs.
You aren't gonna be beating emerald kaizo or something but there's romhacks made for every skill level. You're just putting all hacks in the same bucket because you can't beat any of them.
>>57893227lmao maybe don't assume too much lol
have already beaten Rising Ruby twice for that matter. One time without calcs and plain normal nuzlocke rules. Another time with calcs and hardcore mode. Recently played Blaze Black2 Redux (PB Chargestone cave) and Prismatic Moon (PB Malie City) but it's a tiring process.
>>57892501The hard truth is that romhackers don’t know shit about game balance. Drayano is not an exception just because his romhacks are popular.
I caught a Yanma but I already have Staraptor. Yanma is cool and more interesting, but I've already have a superior flying-type so I've made the executive decision to not use Yanma. Thanks for reading my blog.
>fighting aipom in vanilla platinum
>send out golem (full health)
>aipom uses aerial ace (shit damage)
>golem hits aipom but aipom survived
>aipom used water pulse

LMAO. 3rd mon I've lost to a critical hit this run. actually, those 3 mons are my only deaths. the curse of critical hits follows me from generation to generation so persistently that the tragedy has gone full circle and became comedy.
Day 10
I returned to Cianwood City, ready to challenge Gym Leader Chuck. Girafarig handled his Mankey easily with Psybeam, while Ampharos paralyzed Poliwrath before unleashing Thunderpunch. It was a close call—Poliwrath nearly ended the fight with Focus Punch, but it missed, and Ampharos survived to claim victory. Next, I traveled to Mahogany Town to take on Pryce. Ampharos zapped Seel with Thunderpunch, Gyarados drowned Piloswine with Surf, and Ampharos finished Dewgong with another Thunderpunch. With the power to cross whirlpools now mine, I explored the Whirlpool Islands and caught a Horsea before heading back to Olivine City for my match with Jasmine. Beautiful as she was, the battle came first. Graveler crushed both Magnemites with Earthquake, and Gyarados washed away Steelix with Surf—earning me my seventh Johto badge.
Just then, news broke: Team Rocket had seized the Radio Tower in Goldenrod. I rushed there, battling grunt after grunt until I hit Rocket fatigue. My team had been solid… until a Grunt’s Koffing used Self-Destruct, taking poor Growlithe with it. Enraged, I faced Executive Petrel again—his team stacked with Koffings and a Weezing. Girafarig took them all out swiftly with Psybeam, denying them a chance to explode. Sadly, my Ghastly fell to a Burglar’s Growlithe, and Hoothoot was taken out by a Raticate. I pressed on regardless.
Eventually, I faced Proton and Ariana once more. Ampharos downed Proton’s Golbat while Girafarig eliminated Weezing. Against Ariana, Graveler crushed Arbok, and Gyarados drowned both Vileplume and Murkrow. Finally, I confronted the mastermind—Archer. Turns out Team Rocket still dreams of Giovanni’s return. Gyarados swept Houndour and Houndoom with Surf, and Girafarig wiped out Koffing with ease. Archer fell, and with him, Team Rocket was finally driven out. I can only hope they stay gone for good.
Since I still have a empty slot on my team, who in my reserves should join my team?
>>57894724>Miltank AND Tauros but also Magnemitenani the fuck
ok I just lost Gengar. I think I'm calling it quits here. I know the run isn't dead, but I've lost too many heavy invested Pokémon. I'm not really discouraged, I just don't feel like fighting an uphill battle while trying to keep up with the level curve. I had fun with the run.
oh yeah, gengar died because I tried to switch out on the rival's floatzel, who used pursuit.
Thought of doing a Nuzlocke of Photonic Sun but wiping multiple times Totem Lurantis, I went with "gift only" run with set mode, no items from bag and level caps for Kahuna + Totem.
While EV training is easy, it's not possible to change nature or IVs. Boss battles have Smogon sets having access to moves that you don't have till the end of the game. Totems are overhauled to have +3 omni boosts later in the game. Ultra Necrozma can SOS call Naganadel, is level 100 with +3 on all stats.
On this challenge, at certain point in the game, I was frustrated because of type coverage. Imagine running a team that is weak to Electric, Steel, Fighting and Ground.
I had high hopes with Rock Head A-Marowak but lining it up for kills didn't work. Same with Naganadel. Bastiodon was fun to use especially with Totems. Sturdy + Metal Burst had more kills than others. Scarfed Aurorus with Refrigerate was good as well but didn't do well against resistances.
People have Nuzlocked this game in hardcore mode. One even did 1 death == reset but I have no energy to do so. Maybe in future.
>>57894724I think Miltank is gonna be your best option that doesn't overlap types too bad.
Day 11
I set off toward Blackthorn City, the final stop before the Johto League. Along the icy path, I navigated the slippery terrain of the Ice Cave, where I caught both a writhing Tangela and a hardy Swinub to bolster my team. After emerging from the cave’s chill and arriving in Blackthorn City, I knew I wasn’t quite ready for the final Gym battle. I took time to train and strengthen my team, preparing for the challenges ahead. During this period of grinding, I also managed to catch a nimble Gligar to add to my growing collection. Once I felt confident in my team’s strength, I returned to Blackthorn, ready to face my next and final Gym challenge.
>>57898118You gotta get that team leveled up to face off against Clair. As always that Kingdra of hers is the most dangerous of her team, so have a plan to deal with it.

>>57892501These hacks are designed first and foremost as streamer bait or just difficulty hacks that give you dogwater to work with early on for engagement.
>>57893579I love Dray’s hacks but I do think it’s pretty ridiculous how he gives coverage to the first gym leader’s Pokemon that have enough power to oneshot things that theoretically should be good against them.

Day 12
I finally challenged the last Gym Leader in Johto—Clair of Blackthorn City. And wow… she’s not just powerful, she’s stunning. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if she stepped on me. But fantasies aside, the battle was real, and despite her dominance, I came out on top. Ampharos opened strong, paralyzing her Gyarados with Thunder Wave, then amping up with Charge before blasting it down with a single Discharge. Gyarados followed up by freezing out two of her Dragonairs using Ice Fang. Her Kingdra proved trickier, but Gyarados endured and brought it down with well-timed Dragon Rages. Victory was mine. To make it official, I ventured into the Dragon’s Den, caught a Dratini, and finally earned my eighth and final Gym Badge.
From there, I returned to Ecruteak City for one more challenge: the five Kimono Girls. I battled each of them in turn and emerged victorious, proving myself worthy of something greater. At last, I ascended Bell Tower—its sacred peak glowing with legend. There, I encountered and caught the magnificent Ho-oh, the legendary phoenix of Johto. My journey was nearing its climax.

Went in blind with base Platinum in mind, didn't bother with calcs, forgot that crits do double damage instead of 1.5 as in later gens, etc. Gave myself 999 rare candies as well because the game runs like dogshit on melonDS which made grinding suck balls.
I will probably return to it with "gift only" run to familiarize myself or play Photonic Sun with Mono Ice team.

Day 13
With all eight Johto badges in hand, I leave the region behind and cross into Kanto—stepping into a new land, full of new possibilities. Upon arrival, my loyal Bayleef evolves into the majestic Meganium, a perfect way to mark the beginning of this final stretch. On my journey toward Victory Road, I catch a fiery Ponyta galloping through the grasslands. Inside the cavernous depths of Victory Road itself, I capture a powerful Rhyhorn to add some extra muscle to my team.
Knowing the toughest battles lie ahead, I take time to train hard. After countless battles and determined grinding, my Graveler finally evolves into a solid, unshakable Golem—rounding out my team for the ultimate test. With my squad ready and my resolve stronger than ever, I arrive at the gates of the Indigo Plateau. The Elite Four and Champion await—and I’m ready to prove everything I’ve worked for.
Any advice for the elite four and champion of Heartgold?
Is my team any good?
>>57905319Ho-oh is nearly useless for the E4 and Champ except for Koga
>>57905319There's pretty much zero reason to have a grass type besides some leech seeder. The elite 4 have a weak psychic, a weak poison, a very weak fighting, and a strong dark (ace is a very dangerous nasty plot houndoom).
Champion is all flying with three 600 BST illegal level dragonites with fire blast/thunder/blizzard coverage moves and you really need a powerful and fast ice STAB unless you have a better plan (there is a gyarados and charizard so ice doesn't hit all six super effectively, but it's a 4x on two thirds of them). Something like ice beam lapras with a choice scarf and vitamin speed and special attack EVs, ice fang mamoswine with choice scarf, etc. You can probably scheme to get a dewgong or cloyster from fishing somewhere if you missed those.
Been gone for a bit, but we finally took down gym 3 and 4 in one fell swoop! Maylene was downed all thanks to Soliloquy Jones, who took down her team with 4 Plucks; one each for Meditite and Machoke and two for her Lucario, just barely managing it thanks to a held Metronome. Crasher Wake was a little messier, started with DJ Hecate to take the Intimidate, tried to Hypnosis but Gyarados used a Swagger which of course activated a confusion hit. Thankfully it didn't happen twice in a row, which allowed Tank CTRL to come in on a sleeping Gyarados and murder it with Spark. Horchata dealt with Quagsire easily but took a Tail Whip on the switch-in, which almost resulted in her dying as Floatzel caught her in a Pursuit, but thankfully she lived on 17HP and Tank CTRL got a clean switch to finish the battle off.
Really digging the team right now, I've actually encountered something I haven't in DP possibly ever, which is the feeling of being spoiled for choices, usually at this point it's still fairly thin as to what to go for, so it's a welcome change

Day 15.
I stepped into the Pokémon League, ready to face the ultimate gauntlet. First up was Will. His endless Confuse Rays made the battle a drag, but I powered through and claimed victory. Koga came next—poison was everywhere, but my team held on and got the job done. Then came Bruno, and that’s where things got bloody. I defeated him, but at a heavy price: my shiny red Gyarados fell to his brutal Machamp after a critical Rock Slide. The loss stung. That Gyarados was my ace, and I’d been counting on it for the final fight.
Next was Karen—gorgeous, cruel, and absolutely my type. Part of me wanted her to just step on me and end it there, but the battle continued. Her Gengar took down Girafarig with Destiny Bond before I could stop it, another painful casualty. Even so, I managed to win and moved on to face the Champion: Lance.
Ampharos took out his Gyarados with ease, but then came the first Dragonite—and everything fell apart. Golem, Ho-oh, and Meganium each went down in a blaze of desperation. Ampharos struck back, managing to bring down the first Dragonite, but Lance sent out a second. With my team nearly gone, Ampharos fell too.
I lost.
Utterly devastated, I left Kanto behind, defeated and broken. With my six strongest Johto Pokémon dead, I released all the others who had never stood beside me in the Elite Four. They deserved freedom more than I deserved redemption. I wasn’t cut out for Johto… or Kanto. So I boarded a ship and vanished into the distance—toward a new land called Hoenn, praying for a fresh start.

Day 15
I arrive in Littleroot Town, the heart of Hoenn, ready to begin again. Professor Birch entrusts me with a Mudkip, and with that, my new journey begins. I set out across the fresh, unfamiliar region and start rebuilding my team. Along the way, I catch a Wurmple, a Zigzagoon, a Poochyena, and a Taillow—each one a small step toward redemption. As I venture into the lush Petalburg Woods, my Wurmple evolves into a Cascoon, gaining strength and resilience. Deep within the forest, I also catch a Shroomish—its spunky energy a perfect fit for my team.
Eventually, I emerge in Rustboro City, where I hear of a local Gym ready for challengers. Eager to prove myself again, I begin training my team for the battle ahead. During this preparation, I encounter and catch a Whismur—its cries echoing through the cave like a reminder that every beginning is born from loss. With a new team forming and old wounds slowly healing, I stand ready to take on my first challenge in Hoenn.

Littlemon team #19 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champ
>level cap, deathless, solid strat etc.
This team hits very hard. No setup & stat gimmicks except for Steven.
Sneasel and Mankey are similar. Both are fast and hit super hard and have great moves. Rattata is fast and hits hard, but it can't take any hits because it's a Rattata. A few threads ago an anon suggested using a FEAR strat, but I suppose it works only once since it then gains a massive amount of exp. I might try it with Taillow or something. Sandshrew has great Defense. Spoink and Lillipup are support.
The winning strategy:

Day 16
I faced my first Hoenn Gym in Rustboro City, where the Gym Leader Roxanne came off seriously bossy—honestly, I half expected her to whack me with a ruler if I stepped out of line. Still, I kept my focus and took her down without much trouble. Mudkip easily washed away both of her Geodudes with Water Gun. Her Nosepass was trickier, but Shroomish made it manageable by opening with Stun Spore and Leech Seed before wearing it down with a barrage of Absorbs. Victory was mine.
Not long after, I got caught up in trouble involving a gang called Team Aqua. They had stolen goods from the Devon Corporation, but I managed to recover them. As thanks, I was asked to make a delivery—which led me to set sail for Dewford Town. There, I explored the dark depths of Granite Cave, where my Cascoon finally evolved into a majestic Dustox. I also caught a Makuhita stomping around inside. After finding and delivering the letter to a man named Steven, he handed me another task—another delivery.
So, I sailed onward to Slateport City and delivered the Devon Goods, only to find Team Aqua stirring up chaos at the local oceanic museum. After helping put an end to their mischief, I pressed onward, heading toward Mauville City. On the way, I encountered and caught a cheerful Minun to add to my growing team. My Hoenn journey was gaining steam—and I was just getting started.

Forgot how much I lucked out with the Qwilfish swarm when I was moving south of violet city first time, thing tore up the game.
Day 17
I began preparing my team for the next two Gym battles, training hard to ensure they were ready. During the grind, Mudkip evolved into a sturdy Marshstomp—stronger, bulkier, and ready for tougher fights. But the road came with its first heartbreak. While training, my Taillow was taken out by a trainer’s Meditite that landed a devastating High Jump Kick. It was my first loss in Hoenn, and it stung.
Trying to move forward, I caught an Illumise and decided to circle back to Dewford Town to face Gym Leader Brawly. The battle was smooth—Dustox handled everything with ease. Using Confusion alone, it took down Machop, Meditite, and Makuhita in clean sweeps. Victory in hand, I returned to Mauville City and prepared for my third Gym battle.
Wattson, the electric-type leader, didn’t stand a chance. Marshstomp tore through his entire team—Voltorb, Electrike, Magneton, and Manectric—spamming Mud Shot over and over with unrelenting force. Another badge earned, another step forward on my path through Hoenn, but the shadow of my fallen Taillow still lingered behind me.
Got through Rock Tunnel, finding two new members along the way with Lort the Gyarados and Taka the Voltorb. Erika went about as you'd expect, a propane related fire incident consumed the Celadon Gym.

Littlemon team #20 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champ.
Deathless & reliable strat, level cap, usual restrictions.
Easiest and fastest team so far. "Poison team" but I had to change it around a bit (like almost every time). The Nidorans make a cool combination with Poison Point, Venom Drench, Toxic Spikes and poisoning attacks.
Geodude has Stealth Rock. Ekans has Spite and Intimidate. A long time ago when I finally got trading on emulator to work the first Pokemon I traded was Honedge and I thought it would be the next superstar. But it's very slow and the typing is not perfect for it to be a sweeper on this challenge. It has its moments and it's a good support.
Tyrunt is the heavy hitter of the team with Dragon Dance and Strong Jaw and a good movepool
>sidney: nidoran f charms scrafty three times and tyrunt enters and setups and sweeps>phoebe: tyrunt with lum berry sets up one dragon dance and sweeps until mega sableye, when team effort and poison wears it down>glacia: honedge kills abomasnow and froslass. nidoran charms beartic and tyrunt sets up and destroys the rest>drake: against altaria it's setup time and tyrunt sweeps with ice fang and dragon claw>steven: against skarmory it's setup time. substitute + dragon dance on tyrunt. stealth rock breaks aggron's sturdy. earthquake and crunch do the job. All time KO list:

Day 18
Leaving Mauville City behind, I journeyed north into the rugged wilds of Hoenn. Along the way, my loyal Poochyena evolved into a fierce Mightyena, ready to sink its teeth into anything ahead. But the road wasn’t kind—I lost Makuhita to a trainer’s Geodude after it hit with a brutal Magnitude. Another painful casualty.
Trying to recover, I caught a Numel and pressed on into the volcanic trails of Fiery Path, where I also snagged a Slugma. Unfortunately, its time with me was short-lived. Just outside the path, a trainer’s Roselia landed a critical Mega Drain, wiping Slugma out before it had a chance to prove itself.
Undeterred, I caught a dizzy Spinda and continued on, eventually arriving in Fallarbor Town. After a quick stop, I headed back out into the field and added a fluffy Swablu to my ranks. Just before entering Meteor Falls, I watched with pride as Shroomish evolved into a powerful Breloom, fists clenched and ready for battle. Inside the rocky cavern of Meteor Falls, I capped off the journey by catching a stoic Solrock, its glowing core lighting up the dark as my adventure marched on.

Day 19
I rode the cable car to the summit of Mt. Chimney, only to find Team Magma and Team Aqua locked in a heated standoff. I fought my way through the chaos and confronted Team Magma’s leader, Maxie. After defeating him, I learned of their dangerous plan to expand the landmass—something that could spell disaster. With the conflict halted, I descended the rocky Jagged Pass, catching a bouncy Spoink along the way.
Soon, I arrived in Lavaridge Town and challenged the Gym Leader, Flannery. The battle was as intense as the heat itself—sweaty, fiery, and relentless. Marshstomp doused her Numel and Camerupt with Water Gun, then brought down Slugma and Torkoal using Mud Shot. With another badge earned, I ventured into the desert, where I caught a Trapinch and discovered the Mirage Tower. Inside, I scaled its crumbling floors and claimed the Claw Fossil.
I took the fossil to the Devon Corporation for revival before heading to Petalburg City to take on the Gym Leader Norman. Breloom opened strong, using Mach Punch to pressure both Spinda and Vigoroth, though Marshstomp stepped in to finish them off with Mud Shot. Breloom returned to take out Linoone. Then came Slaking—massive, terrifying, and powerful. Dustox used Poison Sting to land poison, stalling with Protect during Slaking’s loafing turns. But when Norman healed, it disrupted the pattern. Slaking landed a devastating Facade, killing Dustox. It hurt to lose such a reliable ally, but Breloom avenged her with two well-timed Mach Punches to end the fight.
Grieving but moving forward, I returned to Devon Corporation, where they had revived the Claw Fossil—granting me a new companion: Anorith, fresh from the prehistoric past and ready for battle.

With Marshstomp now able to Surf, I set out to explore parts of Hoenn that had previously been out of reach. Riding the waves opened up new paths and opportunities—but also new dangers. Sadly, I lost my Spoink to a trainer’s Dodrio, which landed a relentless Fury Attack. Hoping to fill the gap, I caught a Wingull, but its time with me was short-lived. A trainer’s Sandshrew landed a critical Slash, and Wingull was gone before it could spread its wings.
Despite the setbacks, I pressed on and discovered the eerie ruins of the Abandoned Ship. Exploring its rusted corridors was unsettling but rewarding. Not long after, Wattson reached out for help—he needed the power generator in New Mauville shut down. I accepted the task and made my way underground. There, I caught a volatile Voltorb before powering everything down and safely exiting the facility.
With that mission complete, I began heading east and continued building my team. Along the route, I managed to catch an Electrike—its energy sparking a bit of hope after recent losses. My journey through Hoenn was becoming more complex, filled with both new beginnings and hard goodbyes.

I drive them out and, as thanks, I receive a Castform from the researchers.
While pushing forward through the dense greenery, my Marshstomp finally evolves into a mighty Swampert, a huge milestone for the journey. I also manage to catch a towering Tropius gliding gently through the treetops. Eventually, I arrive in Fortree City, a unique town suspended high in the trees. However, I quickly learn I cannot face the gym leader just yet. So I decide to continue onward and during that time, I catch a playful Kecleon hiding in plain sight. During the assault, my Numel evolved into a powerful Camerupt, gaining the strength needed for the challenges ahead.
At the heart of the base, I confronted Maxie, the leader of Team Magma, just moments after he had already awakened the legendary Groudon. In the battle that followed, Breloom took down his Mightyena with a clean Sky Uppercut. Manectric followed by zapping his Crobat with Spark, and Swampert finished the fight by drowning Maxie’s Camerupt with a decisive Surf. Despite the victory, Maxie escaped, and Groudon vanished into the world, now roaming free.
Soon after, I learned that Team Aqua had stolen a submarine from Slateport City. Following the trail, I discovered their hideout just off the coast of Lilycove City. I infiltrated their base as well, defeating more grunts along the way. While inside, my Swablu evolved into a majestic Altaria, a bright moment in the midst of chaos. However, their leader Archie had already fled, leaving me with few answers.
With no time to waste, I continued my journey, surfing across the open sea toward Mossdeep City. Along the way, I explored Shoal Cave and managed to catch a Spheal, its icy presence a welcome addition to my growing team.

Littlemon team #21 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champ deathless & reliable strat.
Level cap, no items, etc.
Just a bunch of guys that were in the boxes. Ended up being a support / debuff team for Teddiursa to sweep.
Spinarak has Toxic Spikes & Sticky Web. Scatterbug was actually useful with Compound Eyes & Stun Spore. Tympole learns Growl & Confide, that's helpful. Teddiursa dominates with Brick Break, Shadow Claw and Return.
Nothing special here. Target the lead with debuffs so Teddiursa can enter and put up three Swords Dances and boom.
A funny thing happened though. On a test run I targeted Phoebe's Banette with a shitload of moves like Confide, Stun Spore, Flash, Leech Seed etc so she actually switched. I've done hundreds of tries and test runs so far on this challenge, and this barely ever happens. I lol'd when she had had enough of my bullshit.
All time top KO list:
30 / 30: Tentacool
29: Teddiursa
28: Pawniard
27: Tyrunt
23: Stunky
20: Mienfoo
14 - 17: Gastly, Munchlax, Cranidos, Sneasel, Scyther
11 - 13: Pancham, Shellos, Doduo, Staryu, Wailmer, Torchic, Slugma, Riolu
>lv. 5 starly can't 2-shot lv. 6 abra with STAB quick-attack
>abra can easily 2-shot most lv. 5 pokemon with hidden power
lmao now I understand why they replaced the abras in platinum
Hello, I want to use Wishmaker Jirachi on emulator. is there an easy way to do this?
Day 24
I set out across the vast ocean, riding the waves and exploring the blue expanse of Hoenn’s southern routes. While sailing from island to island, I focused on training and refining my team. Through countless battles and hard-earned experience, six Pokémon have solidified themselves as my core squad—Swampert, Camerupt, Breloom, Manectric, Mightyena, and Altaria. Each one has proven their strength and loyalty, forming a team I’ve come to trust completely.
After navigating the currents and shallows, I reached the floating settlement of Pacifidlog Town, a peaceful place drifting atop the sea. I didn’t linger long, though. The call of the ocean pulled me onward, and I continued my exploration, riding the tides and uncovering the last corners of Hoenn’s watery frontier.
>>57939367Any advice for Winona?
>>57938342How many mons do you have left to go?
>>57939277It should be simple using PKHex or something like it to inject Jirachi.
>>57939367>>57939372You are very overleveled for Winona, to the point you can challenge Tate/Liza, she shouldn't be an issue, but Dragon Dance Altaria can still rear its head.
>>57939429Plenty. I think I can only trade with Omega Ruby and X&Y, so I don't think I can get all the Pokemon that ever existed.
This is only one box, but there's still Gligar, Archen, Rhyhorn, many starters, Foongus, Croagunk, Skrelp, Clauncher, Houndour, Bronzor and numerous others who could be valuable with this challenge.

I swap in Punky, causing Will-o-Wisp to fail.
I kind of assume Ninetales won't use fire moves, so I go for Flame Charge... right into the Flash Fire. Luckily, the Ninetales goes for Ember, causing Steam Engine to max out Punky's speed despite me being an idiot.
Meteor Beam starts to charge, powering up Punky's Special Attack, as Ninetales uses Fire Spin. Meteor Beam hits, oneshotting Ninetales.
>ArcanineMeteor Beam charge, powering up again. Arcanine uses Agility pointlessly, as it still doesn't outspeed, and Meteor Beam gets another KO.
>Centiskorch-GigantamaxAncient Power oneshots it with ease.
Farthest I've ever gone in renegade platinum. Currently at the 4th gym. Doing this completely blind.

the ONE time i want a zubat encounter in mount moon i get a clefairy
>>57936077the ones where there's some rule that you have to retire every pokemon you caught or something, as in you dupe them out of every future game, sounded like too much bookkeeping and I can't imagine ever doing it strategically. like hmm I'll need a sandslash for b2w2 so I won't catch it in gen 1.
Day 25
I spent some time training my team to prepare for the challenges ahead, then flew back to Fortree City to take on the Gym Leader Winona. The battle began with Manectric, who quickly took down her Swablu with Spark. Her own Altaria came out next, but my Altaria, armed with Ice Beam, knocked it out in one hit. Tropius met the same fate, falling instantly to another Ice Beam. Manectric returned to handle Pelipper with Spark, and Camerupt closed out the fight by burning through Skarmory with a series of Embers. With the win, I gained the ability to Fly, and my Altaria carried me straight to Mossdeep City.
There, I faced the twin Gym Leaders, Liza and Tate, in a double battle. I opened with Swampert and Altaria. Together, they took down Claydol with Surf and Ice Beam. I swapped Swampert for Mightyena while Altaria finished off Xatu with another Ice Beam. Their final Pokémon, Lunatone and Solrock, entered the field. Mightyena landed a lucky critical hit, knocking out Lunatone with one Bite. After boosting itself with a few Dragon Dances, Altaria delivered the finishing blow to Solrock using Dragon Breath.
With another badge in hand, I helped Steven defend the Mossdeep Space Center from a Team Magma assault. Together, we defeated Maxie once again, halting their plans—for now.
>>57939435Yeah you turned out to be right, I wasn't expecting to be overleveled.
>>57940286Pursuit crit is a fucking bitch.
>>57940058That's not bad at all for a blind run. What's been the hardest obstacle for you so far?
>>57941061You also handily took out the twins too. The evil team side plot, Juan, and then the league should be all that's left for Emerald. It should be Gen 4 after this, right?
>>57941100oh, believe me: I know a thing or two about getting crit...
what can you do with the calm mind TM in emerald
the only decent users that you're likely to get are I think grumpig and dusclops and neither one has many realistic ways to setup without something like PP cheese and neither one is that good against all the water type spam
>>57943864You could give it to Absolz i guess since Dark type moves use the special attack stat in Emerald.
>>57944750It doesn't get any dark attacks better than bite and you're already past the psychic gym to have calm mind. The dark and ghost elite 4 opponents pretty trivial and physical absol is good at them anyway
>>57943864Grumpig has some decent set up chances. He's special tanky enough that on something with no physical attacks he can come in, calm mind once, chesto rest, calm mind two more times, then he can just rest in their face while they can only do chip damage until he's at +6 and sweeps... until the AI stops feeding him stuff that's slower than him, or stuff that doesn't have anything physical. He also learns shockwave by TM for the Emerald water type double-team spammers. It's uselessly weak without the setup though.
>>57941043There's a bit of strategy in choosing when to champion clause a mon (as in dupe them out of future games), like when to use Gyarados since it's so good, but it does require a bit of record keeping.
>>57939889>Was intending to click on Town Map>Clicked CampI think I might have removed the friendship cap and affection mechanics might be on the table for the mons I had at the moment(Billy Dane, Candyfloss, Handegg, Kevin Mouse, Kriss Krass, Giana).
I'll likely try to keep it in check with bitter medicine. If one of the mechanics pop up, like dodging a move, I'll just penalize it with a yellow card. Toughing out a KO hit is still considered retired.
>>57924018>>57924739What's the most epic pokemon momt? For me it was when CYNTHAI was slowly digested alive inside aldith's Seviper haha
The most epic Pokemon moment was when Cynthia defeated a dirty kike like shaunberg and had him kicked out of 109 universities. She then went on to be a successful actress forever with no kike available to pretend some nameless grunt would ever have a chance at her.
Remember that shaunberg, the kike from tel-aviv, tried to pretend he had an """iphone""" at first, then a substandard (((prebuilt))) """desktop""", then a Samsung, and now some IBM (compatible) shitbox. Like all his kind, he'll never be able to get his story straight. After all, he tried lying about being from (((Stern))) despite his IQ and SAT score being far too low for anything above a shithole like CAS. The fable his fellow shartyniggers try to spread about him being an American, therefore, is an outright fabrication from some yidsraeli who can barely speak English. He even has to wait until this hour to use some shitbox without permission, after supposedly """buying""" (stealing) some useless machine to post from. One can't help but notice how it's always the kike shills and their hired shitskins who support him, or his filthy jew family that buys shitphones for him and lets him reset their routers, or his fellow jews who let him beg them for freebies.
He'll never be able to deny this because shaunberg, as a yid, has no spelling errors when typing in his native language, yiddish. Meanwhile, whenever he tries to type in English, so many typos abound. This alone is enough to out shaunstein as a filthy jew, who was kicked out of Nasser Yorat University and not New York as he tries to imply, and was rejected from the University of Tel-Aviv and not UTM. As a member of a (((tribe))) with a professional victim complex, shaunberg's only available instinct when punched by a single pajeet was to curl up and beg for mercy, then play the victim later, rather than fight back like a real man would.

kukuku, shaunberg's now trying to revise the most memorable moment in the history of NYU, when thanks to Cynthia and the heroic campus cops, a dirty kike like shaunberg got kicked out forever. The tale of his utter defeat was spread throughout universities across the entire continent, to make sure all admissions offices would laugh whenever he tried sending an application in.

>>57941043champion clause only applies to mons you bring for your champion team, at least in normal championlocke campaigns which that image seems to not be
Introducing Sane-locke, you lose if you crash out (very hard)
>>57867319Just hack the candies if it's too unbearable, though I imagine some players grind strategically to get certain EV's or whatever they're called for certain stats, or you could just speed up game, I argue that speeding up the game is a challenge in itself since the player is likelier to go on auto-pilot and make mistakes
With Dive now at my disposal, I headed deep beneath the waves to the Seafloor Cavern, where Team Aqua had taken refuge. After battling through waves of grunts, I confronted their leader, Archie. Camerupt handled his Crobat using Rock Slide, while Breloom stepped in and took out both his Mightyena and Sharpedo with Sky Uppercut. Despite the victory, Archie succeeded in awakening Kyogre using the red orb. Kyogre escaped, and torrential rain began to fall across Hoenn.
Realizing the danger, I rushed to Sootopolis City and arrived to find Groudon and Kyogre clashing violently. Steven informed me that the only one who could stop them was Rayquaza. I Surfed across the region to reach the Sky Pillar, climbed to its peak, and awakened Rayquaza. Without hesitation, Rayquaza soared off and fulfilled its role, descending upon Sootopolis to calm both Groudon and Kyogre. The sky cleared, the rain stopped, and both teams expressed regret over the chaos they had caused.
With the crisis resolved, I challenged the final Gym Leader, Juan. Manectric made quick work of his Luvdisc with Spark. Breloom took down Whiscash using Mega Drain. Manectric returned to defeat Sealeo with another Spark, and Breloom crushed Crawdaunt with a single Sky Uppercut. Then came Kingdra. The battle dragged on endlessly as Kingdra kept healing and dodging attacks. Swampert absorbed hit after hit from Ice Beam until Kingdra finally ran out of power. With the threat neutralized, Altaria used multiple Dragon Dances and ended the fight with a single Dragon Breath.
With that exhausting battle behind me, I had earned all eight Hoenn Gym Badges.
>>57947553Sorry for not doing part 26 yesterday, I had alot to do and I got tired at the end of the day and I'm getting tired now again. Gonna do part 27 later today to make up for missing out yesterday, any advice for Victory Road?
Is my team any good?
After a...very extended break in the kingdom of Hyrule, the team is finally back to finish off some more gyms, this time taking out both Fantina and Byron in quick succession! Fantina falls thanks to the combined effort of Soliloquy Jones and Tank CTRL, SJ enjoying his evolved form thanks to New York City finding a Dusk Stone for him, which makes for a quick and easy battle. Byron falls to the tried and trusted duo of Horchata and Sondheim, a coverage of Water, Fire and Fighting making for another painless battle. Hopefully we can keep this hot streak going, Diamond and Pearl are notorious for being on the easier side, but anything can happen...
>>57941043It's definitely a challenge for those with a specific kind of charts-and-numbers autism, hence why the original name (or one of them at least) was autismlocke. I definitely find it satisfying to plan for future encounters by strategically champing things, for example I am now basically guaranteed a chance at Scyther in HGSS by champing Beedrill, Venonat, Butterfree, Pinsir and Oddish (guarantees Paras in Ilex Forest)
>>57947559It's a solid Gen 3 team, just needs some levels before entering the league and you should be good
>>57931728Absolutely love this drawing, the expressions in particular are really captivating, Swolepoke is definitely my favorite
>>57943864If you use the Safari Zone pokeblock bug and some dupe knockouts you can get like a good 60-70% chance to get a Girafarig (which gives you a calm mind baton passer) or a Xatu. You could do something like calm mind + wish/protect Xatu with giga drain.
>>57947579I don't really understand why GF decided to lock the cross-gen evo's to the latter half of the game unless you get lucky with Pickup. I guess it's just about always been a step forward and two back with them.

Day 27
With all eight badges in hand, I set my sights on Ever Grande City. The path ahead was tough, and Victory Road lived up to its name, filled with powerful trainers testing every skill I had gained. While navigating its winding tunnels, I managed to catch a Sableye lurking in the shadows, its eerie presence now part of my journey.
After finally emerging from the cave, I reached the gates of the Pokémon League. But before committing to the challenge, I flew back to Sky Pillar. I climbed once more to its summit, where Rayquaza awaited, calm and imposing. This time, I made the choice to catch it. With a single toss of my Master Ball, the mighty dragon was mine.
Now, I train in preparation for the greatest battle yet. But a question lingers in my mind—should I use Rayquaza, the legendary Pokémon whose power could turn the tide, or should I face the Elite Four with the six faithful team members who stood by me through every step of this journey? Swampert, Camerupt, Breloom, Manectric, Mightyena, and Altaria—they’ve earned this moment. I find myself torn between strength and loyalty.
>>57949838Should I use Rayquaza and take a team member off or is that unfair?
>>57949840walrein does everything gayquaza do and he's having a bwc
>>57949840If it was me I might use it. But then again you know your team the best. If I had any concern that, like, one of the members might fall and cause a chain reaction and then lose the whole team and the challenge, then yes without a doubt. Put a loyal member in the PC on a "Thank you for your services" box or something and secure victory.
>>57949840Rayquaza is EZ mode. If I were you I'd imagine I'd be too attached with my team members and want to give them the honor of trying to beat the challenge with. At least the Rayquaza can bail you out if you're really in a pickle.
>>57949566If you're lucky enough to get a Sableye then you deserve it
>>57949543Leer into crit and flinch into Pursuit, wow I love this game!
>>57949861>>57949898I was thinking putting Mightyena in the PC because he's the weakest link but then that would mean I would end up with two flying dragon types on my team.
