I did take an autism assessment but it's been about 18 months and I haven't heard back. I'm friends with autistic people and one of them said I'm likely autistic. My sister is definitely somewhere on the spectrum (maybe aspergers) but I don't think she's still as into pokemon as I am these days. Also I'm fairly sure I'm trans, and since both that and autism are theorized to be due to neonatal hormone fuckery, I think I can say I'm autistic.

Autism and being trans are probably not linked because of hormonal stuff, but rather because of how autists perceive themselves and society. Autists have their own way of thinking and perceive things differently than others. They don't really understand gender as a societal construct, so they think they are "different", ergo trans. But that's not necessarily the case.
I would think twice or even thrice about transitioning if I were you. Just cause you don't feel like you act like a typical man or fill in the role of a man in society doesn't mean you are trans. It just means you're different - everyone with autism is because their brains are literally different. You're just you. Transitioning won't change that. It won't make you magically fit into society better. You will probably never fit into society no matter what. It sucks, but it's true. You can learn to deal with it.

Oh no, I definitely am. Part of my mental health recovery was to stop disassociating from everything. Ever since 16 I've been pretty depressed. It's only in the last 9 months that I've accepted being trans as a possibility (there were some signs but not as many as other trannys). I don't mind taking it kinda slow since I think my dysphoria is at a lower level. I'm 25 and don't neccesarily mind waiting quite a few years till I start hormones (I did start laser though). The thought of being a mid 30s man kinda scares me, while the thought of being a mid 50s woman is pretty comforting. Thanks for your concern though.

People who call others autistic for being interested in anything at all are usually just projecting autists themselves.

If your social life is fine, you can easily pick up on social cues, and you are capable of making friends normally, you are probably not autistic. Autists don't own the concept of obsessions, as this is something that shows up in multitude of disorders. "On the spectrum" is just a way for them to turn it into semantics, or to ignore your arguments entirely.

As to why they do this, I'm not sure. Maybe it stems from an insecurity. If they see everyone else as autistic too, they no longer have to see themselves as inferior.
