Galar was fine, The wild area was shit but the routes were ok, wish we just had regular gyms instead of stupid football stadiums.
Kalos just felt rushed, first few gyms were great, best early routes in the franchise, some great scenic areas. If you remade kalos and made some of the routes massive it would be peak. I loved the autumn area with the runes, the pokeball factory, the swamp, the idea of skateparks was great but you never really did much with the skating. That could have been a genuinely fun little minigame.
Paldea sucks though. Appart from the dlc, because the dlc feel pretty focused in points.
Paldea is just a vast field of fuck and all and the only memorable places is the school and area zero.

The common denominator is not Europe or 3D but changing the level design philosophy to Mario stages. Every region must include every biome even if it makes no ecological or geographical sense. Japanese regions were all coherent.
