Pretty much the way I look at it, even if you factor in tax/shipping I'll have effectively paid <$50 a year for the platform over the lifespan of the console if it lasts anywhere as long as the first Switch.

I would at least wait to see if the game is worth getting especially wait to see if the difference between switch 1 and 2 is noticeable.
For me the choice to get a NS2 was pretty easy I have used the same switch since 2017 it has heavy wear on it and I used it for more than just pokémon.
Although like the others said we're nintendo's bitch anyway so its a question of when you purchase a switch 2 rather than if.

The performance and load time improvements when playing switch 1 games is insane. For the thousands of hours I've dumped into these consoles. I can justify the money spent.

it's honestly not AS bad as i feared
i mean it's not GOOD, it feels significantly worse than legends of arceus in multiple ways
