In 6v6 you need to bring all of your Pokemon to every game. This means all six Pokemon need to be generally viably in all matchups or else you're basically playing 5v6. In 4v4 you can have a niche Pokemon that only comes out in some matchups. It's paradoxical, but 4v4 actually results in more overall diversity in teams. Yes, 4-5 of your picks will be from the top 20, but 1-2 will be from the top 100, versus all 6 being from the top 40.

That's Shadow Shield's whole difference. It's Multiscale that ignores effects that ignore abilities. So Moongeist's damage is still reduced, Mold Breaker doesn't stop it, etc. Same with Full Metal Body. You can Mold Breaker drop the stats of a Pokemon with Clear Body, but not Full Metal Body.
