>Mewtwo has clones fight originals
>Everyone is very upset, saying that pokemon shouldn’t fight
>In a franchise where you have pokemon fight eachother
>BRUTHA, MY BRUTHA

I watched the english version. Is the original japanese version just completely different? They mentioned the fucking Minnesota Vikings in this one. The opening fight is better than any other part of the movie.

It was a 1.5 hour long ad to get kids to buy more product, don't think too hard about it.

Yeah the original is all about a random little girl, yeah it doesn't make sense either, this shit was written by someone who wanted to end the anime series with a trex killing everyone

Mewtwo sets it up as a fight to the death for the right to exist, not a friendly sporting competition like most modern Pokemon battles are. Context is king. The dialogue doesn't quite make it crystal clear for the kids (and OP), but the characters are objecting to Pokemon literally waging bloody war.

In the Japanese version, Mew is 100% on board with fighting Mewtwo and his clones to the death. Most of the trainers' Pokemon are, too.
