This is the pattern of a giraffe-like pokemon. Male Girafarigs will always have 4 brown and 2 yellow spots on each side. Female Girafarigs will always have 5 brown and 1 yellow spot on each side.

It's a Pokémon-specific thing.

Officially, the plural of Pokémon is also Pokémon and any Pokémon species name is also both singular and plural.

It's meant to make things easier for a series about so many different species, so plurals for all of them don't have to be thought up. I've gotten so used to it that it feels strange when I see people not using a Pokémon's species name as both singular and plural.
