I'm happy we're getting the gamecube games but why aren't Gen's 1-3 not already on switch/switch 2

I just want to be able to play the old games and transfer my teams to pokemon home

Does The Pokémon Company hate money???

They’re obviously waiting for the 30th anniversary like when they released Gen 1 in 2016 for the 20th.

A) Nintendo don't own the rights to Game Freak's games.
B) Game Freak aren't giving up rights without payment (NSO is a subscription service to Nintendo services, not a VC-like shopfront, where revenue isn't shared).
C) They'd be restricted to Mature audiences only (requiring a new dedicated GBA emulator, restricting its use to adults) due to real world laws directly targeting the portrayal of adult material in children's media.
And as evidenced by LGPE and BDSP, they can shit out a 3D remake of older games, and they'll still sell 15m, so why bother putting up a rom for an autistic child? That's what vgba and the like is for.

Imagine this. game Freak works with Nintendo to remake the GBA, and the 3DS, but only for a limited time. The systems do not play the normal cartridges, though; instead, each one has every Pokémon game that was released for handheld on it.

Gen III isn't retro enough for GayFreak

It'd make their newest releases look worse.

Could Gen III games look as good and authentic on the Switch 2 as they do on the GBA? Because they tend to look like shit on emulators.

Modern Shitfreak hates pixelart now, it's why the VC releases weren't good enough and they had to make another soulless 1:1 Kanto remake

This is probably as close to the truth as we’ll get.

Ultimately, nintendo wants to gatekeep retro games as a “game pass” incentive for switch online

Nintendo's emulators on the Switch are generally pretty good and they do have actually decent looking filter options, but you're never going to get something that looks exactly as good as playing on that old backlit screen

They're worried you'll be content with them and not buy the new slop.

They would rather outsource a buggy low budget chibi port for $80 and trickle those out

because they make the newer games look bad in comparison, they can't have that.

>Why Aren't The Classic Pokémon Games On Switch 2???
Because it morally correct to emulate them for free
