I made a "haha funny trans" joke meme earlier without watching the episode. But after going back to watch it I have some things to say about it.

The writing is BAD, like, this is like... As filler of an episode as I think I've ever seen. At best if you're not taking it too seriously its not too egregious.

They basically set up three snooty girls who keep talking about how cool it is to be girls, and how they're the most "beautiful girls in the whole region" (((citation needed))) and so Iris and the gang dress in drag and go to their mansion and battle them in a beauty contest and win.

Thats it. Theres no like.. Big beauty contest, its just the three beauties, and Iris and the gang, at some mansion battling for some vague beauty title.

There was no twist, they never get exposed for crossdressing, they never like, explore the bully characters on why they value beauty so much. This episode could've been super fucking cool because I love the idea of exploring femininity as a concept but they just completely trounce it with horrible writing.

Its like a 45 year old mans idea of what he thinks femininity is about.

Its not even a hard fix. Like clearly the budget for this episode was non-existent. But all you'd have to do to fix it would be flesh out the bully characters, and have a discussion about the positives and negatives of both masculinity and femininity.

And in the end both sides come away with a nicer appreciation for the other gender. Everyone wins.
