Has anyone ever used two of the same mon on a team in a playthrough? It's something the game obviously allows you to do but I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it, I figure everyone prefers having their team members each be unique.

It can be fun. Imagine having two of the same mixed attacker, but one focuses on physical and the other on special. I've even had two of the same mon with the same nature and moveset just to see how different they'd be at endgame because of their ivs and evs. You should try it.

I used a gyarados I raised from a magikarp and the red gyarados on my last silver run. Splitting the water HMs lets them both be useful in the field while still pulling their weight in battle with type coverage.

Technically? No clue if it counts because it was in a fangame, and it was a unique form, but in Insurgence, I used both Haxorus and Delta Haxorus on my team.

Used 2 of these last time I played crystal. Could've had a bellossom way before but I kept them both as gloom until I could evolve them at the same time. Really wish I had bred razor leaf on to them though.

When I was 9 I went on holiday for a fortnight or so, and I did a playthrough of Silver where I only used Furrets. They were all the same because after every couple of gyms I'd just clone my highest level one to keep the team roughly evenly leveled. By the time I came home my strongest Furret was close to level 100. I don't even particularly like Furret, I just thought it was cool that it learned so many HMs.
