I have been able to access to a trailer (I don't know if it's the next one for the next presents on the 22nd) where they talk about Pokémon Champions, I'm here to share it but I can't attach any kind of image or video.

They present Pokémon Champions as the new main game for the competitive format, because they want to detach a little bit the main games from the competitive format to be able to focus more on other ideas.

Talk about how having to create games thinking about the competitive aspect and the adventure aspect limited them when trying to expand in certain fields, so now they will separate this aspect definitively.

In Champions we will have a roster of more than 300 species (at the start) among which we show some Pokémon like Greninja, Blaziken, Gardevoir, Garchomp, Pelipper, Charizard and Tyranitar (some more are seen in passing, but no legendary or mythical)

The game will feature a small story mode for players less familiar with the competitive scene can understand in a simple way how the double battle system works among other things.
More details about this mode will be revealed in the future, and they promise that it will be interesting and entertaining to play even for veterans.

They go on to talk about the fights, and here's all the interesting stuff in the video.
New moves coming to Champions
- Dark Terrain - Increases the power of sinister moves and cancels flinch and speed drops (Grimmsnarl is seen using it).
- Laughter - Distracts the opponents so that during that turn they can't make status moves (Whimsicott is seen using it)

It will be possible to use different mechanics such as terastal or mega evolutions (they do not mention anything about z or dinamax) but only one per fight, they give the example of Charizard Y and garchomp terastal earth.

The available pokemon and some mechanics will be changing in each regulation to give more diversity to the competitive format and the opportunity to certain pokemon.

Regulation system: For the first time in pokemon, certain moves or abilities will be modified to adjust possible imbalances:

- Give as an example the attack Make It Rain, that with the new game will suffer a small loss of damage, while attacks like Flip Turn will receive a power increase.
- As for skills, they say that for the moment they can't share the changes, but that they will be updated on the pokemon champions page in patch notes.

They promise that this game will be supported for a long time and hope that players will enjoy this new system for the competitions to come.

Announce that the release will be in early 2026 (no date) and that the next championship will start to be played in Champions.

If you spent half as much time being productive that you do writing half assed fanfiction maybe you’d be leading a more fulfilling life.

>EVER replacing paid-for core games as host of VGC championships
Can you stop being retarded? Because only retarded zoomie cunts think Game Freak are going to stop VGC in their games, in favour of this wank. We already know it's launching gimped and will only have a limited selection of pokémon for use at any one time.

They will just run VGC through Champions instead of the main game. It's literally the exact same shit but on a different client.

>first time
This isn't the first time they've done move/ability balancing. Unless you mean they will be balancing moves per regulation/patch instead of waiting for a new generation.

>STILL being retarded
Firstly, it's movileshit, it's AUTOMATICALLY "spin off wank" tier form the start, secondly - its whole existence is to give TPC an excuse to shut down Showdown by releasing a competing service to their website as rights holders. Thirdly, restricting VGC to Nintendo systems only and Game Freak games mean Game Freak and Nintendo get paid, if any doss cunt needs to show the world how great he is at playing other people in a children's game, as well as creating scenarios where they make kids and mankids gather, to spend money on the IP's shit, while they wait for their turn playing pogeymans for competition. There's no reality where Game Freak stop hosting VGC on their games. Enjoy the povvo showdown clone they're gonna make, I guess if you're this invested in this replacing core games.

Yeah. Which means champions will have its own spin-off division. It's not going to replace VGC on actual hardware though. Downloads of Champions will not give Game Freak sales revenue akin to even the worst-selling mainline pokémon game ever generated for them. And neither will it drive console sales for Nintendo, the way EVERY mainline Pokémon game release sells consoles, as they reach kids who haven't ever played, but want it and need a system to play it on.
You retards ignore Game Freak and Nintendo operate independently of TPC's actions. And also ignore Nintendo get publisher's cut of every mainline pokémon game sold (with Game Freak sole recipients of the rest) and 100% of revenue from every and all systems sold alongside any one mainline game sale. As I said, there's no reality where Game Freak stop the mainline game based VGC comps, despite also making a battle sim to shut down Showdown (can't send pokémon from Champions to core games, thus can't give away VGC winners' pokémon as event distributions if they ever did move VGC from mainline games, never mind no shiny legend distributions by forcing VGC participation from shiiny autists). That you're still ignoring its sole reason for existence tells me you're gonna throw an autistic fit when finchinator gets slapped with a C'n'D.

Pocket racks in 50 million a month. You are the biggest fucking retard on the planet if you think Champions won't have some sort of microtransactions.

I didn't say that. But MXT mean Game Freak only get 1/3rd any profit, due to having three hands in the pot with near-equal amounts of a shares claim on it (Nintendo own 30% due to also owning master trademarks on the whole shebang, Game Freak own the largest percentage, Creatures gets a third). In case you missed it, SV earned to-date $1.6074 billion. Minus production costs and publisher's cut of the profit, they made out like FILTHY fucking cunts from one game alone, let alone two in 6 years along with a further $900m for LGPE, BDSP and L: A. Assuming a further 15m sales from L: Z-A, they earned $2.5074 billion gross and guess what? Game prices are going up for Switch 2, which means even more fucking profit from each and every game they sell.
Tell me again why they're going to allow povvos to enter proper VGC again? Because all I can see is reasons to not move VGC from mainline games and instead create a whole new championship for Champions, given it's going to have off-Gen gimmicks like Megas and Terastralisation, when Gen 10's going to launch a new one for da kiddies?

Oh yeah, and given Home's required to get any kind of use out of Champions, Game Freak are STILL getting paid for any cunt who has a collection and decided to play it. Like I said, where's the "catering to povvos" angle you're intent on pushing at me?

This sounds like the lamest thing that they could possibly do, possible ever for a dedicated battling game, and THAT'S why I believe this is real.
