I don't believe IVs can be adjusted. It isn't mentioned in the tutorial text and I suspect that they just forced the max value on everything. EVs can be adjusted at any time and they seem to have simplified it.
There is a campaign mode with two paths. Held items, natures, and specific pokemon are gated behind different progression points. The text mentioning the pokemon did not outright say legendary or mythical, meaning it may be possible that they will gate high usage or more popular pokemon behind it. It is made clear that you will still have to have campaign mode gated pokemon in pokemon home to use them. Campaign mode battles sometimes allow you to bring your own team, and sometimes you're given a preset team. These battles can be singles, doubles, triples, rotations, inverse, type exclusive, raids and possibly more. I do not know how difficult the battles are, but you have only five daily attempts before you will have to spend one of the two in-game currencies for more. You cannot switch between paths freely. One path must be finished first. The campaign mode paths will have new additions with each new competitive season that is added.
There will be seasonal events. They will have extra cosmetics for your character, pokeballs, and entrance effects. These require you to spend a daily attempt for each progression point like the campaign paths.
Victory Points are a free currency earned through tournaments and other events. Challenger Points are a paid currency.
Players will be able to set up rental teams with two privacy modes either making the team public to all or friends only. These teams are restricted to friendly matches. They cannot be used in tournaments, seasonal events, or campaign mode battles that allow selecting your own pokemon.
Friendly battles are available at any time and all of the modes available in campaign mode are available there as long as you've played it once.
None of the battle formats allow the use all six pokemon. Presented in the party.
The shiny pokemon effect is a part of the entrance effects category. Just like the rest of your pokemons attributes this will not be carried over from home to champions and instead must be earned in champions.
You must have pokemon home installed on your system and home must have at least one compatible game linked to it in order to use champions.
This information is from text and what I could infer.
Yeah, all of this makes sense for a F2P, but do I really need to habe Pokemon Home AND a compatible game linked to it? The bare minimum could be Pokemon Go but still, I don't want to install PokemonGO
>>57915749>ThisBut with a small story mode, something in between Colosseum and the Gym Leader Castle
>>57915717 (OP)>I suspect that they just forced the max value on everything.Honestly this isn't the worst solution. It's no different than forcing level 50 when people used to run 49s for Trick Room.
This may be one of the most depressing leaks I have ever read. There's so much corpo-greed shit going on. Surely they know people won't tolerate them trying to monetize vgc when showdown exists right?
>>57915717 (OP)Sounds shit.
Any core game NPC appearances, tho?
This leak is so boring I believe it
>>57915717 (OP)This is some high-grade weaponized doomerposting right here.
>Can bring your own pokemon>Those pokemon effectively function like rentals>All 'mons shiny locked until you buy the ability to show them off>Movesets can be changed on the fly>EVs can be changed>Only IVs seem to be unadjustable
>>57915717 (OP)I'm assuming that the leak is real.
>These battles can be singles, doubles, triples, rotations, inverse, type exclusive, raids and possibly more good news, can't wait to play avalugg in inverse battle unironically. return of triple and rotation battles is nice too.
>you have only five daily attempts before you will have to spend one of the two in-game currencies for moreThe suits who greenlight this deserves to be Mangione'd
anyway, Pvp and ranked battle mode will make or break this game.
>>57915749Me too buddy
>>57915749Been wanting PBR2 ever since gen 5, it’s sad that gen 5 mons onwards have never been in a good looking 3D game
>>57915717 (OP)>>57915718>triples>None of the battle formats allow the use all six pokemonYou fucked up pal, triples is a 6v6 format. I'd even say it's wildly optimistic to think triples and rotations will be in the game at all, at least at launch.
>>57915835>making money of a product is greedF2P games need some kind of monetization to exist you know. Showdown is free but no one gets paid to work on it, nor do they make money from it.
>>57915941>triples is a 6v6 formatSince when? Every triple battle I remember in the games always had a npc with only 3 pokemon. Even if there was a official competitive format for it that used all 6 I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it. Remember in gen 4 and 5 you could do random match making in singles with all 6 and then gen 6 killed that off and changed it to bring 6 pick 3 cause it was "too slow"
>>57915941>Showdown is free but no one gets paid to work on it, nor do they make money from it.Don't worry, they'll be relieved of their duty to update the thing, when Champions launches and TPC C'n'D their arses.
>>57915717 (OP)>mobile game>micropayments>time gatesIf you play this for even a second you're a cuck who doesn't deserve video games
>>57915963Ranked triples was always 6v6, there's no reason for that to change, it worked because you have half your team out at once and matches still went by at a fast pace.
>Remember in gen 4 and 5 you could do random match making in singles with all 6 and then gen 6 killed that off and changed it to bring 6 pick 3 cause it was "too slow"Random matchmaking for singles has always been 3v3. Gen 4 didn't even have matchmaking outside of PBR.
>>57915835That's the point, they want to kill showdown and replace it with their own pay-to-win version.

I hope they c&d Showdown so we can get more infuriated players.
This app sounds horrible if this leak is true it sounds very likely this will exist
>>57916098I have a conflicting relationship with smogon and showdown. It's not a democracy and some players there have way too much influence regarding tiering. But at least it was never as rich boy exclusive as vgc. You're always welcome in the community and you can actually participate instead of being paygated by travel fees.
If this leak is true then vgc is gonna get memed on so hard for being rich people only.
>>57916120You do realize it's not about the console and game prices but about the fact that vgc requires a large amount of traveling, right?
Or are you really that braindead?
>>57916126And? You do realise this was ALWAYS the case, due to NEEDING to be physically near your opponent to actually compete back in the day? At this stage, the VGC events are mini pokémon conventions, attended as much by nosey bastard fans as people wanting to compete with world's being their comic-con equivalent? Could always just PvP casually you know. But you also ignore to compete in VGC at top tier, you need 2 systems, so you can hack one and play clean in comp on the other just like every other top level manchild fuck invested in competitive kid's games, which seems to me the problem is manchild fucks outspending casuals, because they NEED some kind of attention in their lives and they're just not that interesting outside their oversized childish obsession.. Retards don't get to play the retard card AND skip the retard tax, deal with it.
>>57915717 (OP)>terrible name for a battle sim, will be a pain to look up champions for anything aside from this game once it's released>confirmed for mobile>forces all IVs at 31 instead of 0, IVs even in the game at all>thinks it can be the next Colosseum with that campaign mode>stamina system>seasonal fomo and freemium currencyEven a PBR2 would've been better than this shit. Having triples, rotation, inverse, and all the other fun battle modes removed from mainline is nice, but not when it's dragged down by a freemium model.
>>57915718>You must have pokemon home installed on your system and home must have at least one compatible game linked to it in order to use champions. This completely defeats the point of this shit being a mobile app. What the fuck?
>>57916493The fact they mention obtaining pokémon in Champions that cannot be transferred to Home makes that seem unlikely (almost as if you can play and collect battlemons that are Champions-only things). Never mind this shit is F2P, meaning they EXPECT poor people to play it, who won't have a S2, a collection or Home account to fund Gaame Freak and Nintendo as well as people who buy the mainline games and sub to Home. Can you fuckers TRY and use your fucking brains to think things through some times?
>>57916515>not all Pokémon available in Pokémon HOME will appear in Pokémon ChampionsThen what is the point of Champions? People have been clamoring for a new battle simulation game since dexit so they can battle without the dexit.
>>57915749I hope they at least give us original characters to fight against, especially pretty girls, I was very disappointed with the Paldea leaders
>>57916616Probably to rotate the featured pokémon more readily and easily for different regulation set than needing to release a new game, with new creatures (and associated region/story/NPC's ect) to do the same in the core games.
And please, no cunt's taking butterfree into any these battles, even with Gigantamax regs, as there's still FAR better Gmax'mons to use. The point of it is to shut down showdown finally (free pokémon battle app, in direct competition with a free online battle sim, allowing the rights holders to FINALLY exercise their IP ownership and claim unauthorised use of trademarked IP).
>>57915835>Surely they know people won't tolerate them trying to monetize vgc when showdown exists right?VGC is already monetized. The entry fees, PER TOURNAMENT, alone will run you more than the game itself. Add in travel costs and it's a game you can only feasibly play at the top level if you have $10k+ a year to spend on your hobbies. VGC events already require an active Nintendo Online account, as technically all matches are done over the internet (you make an online union room with the guy across the table) and rental codes for your team are used for hack checks. If TPC says "VGC will use Champions" VGC players will play and pay.
>>57916616Unlike the single player games, VGC has always had restrictions on which Pokemon could or couldn't be used, so having restrictions in Champions isn't a surprise, it's expected.
>>57916630Nanjamo is pure sex tho as evidenced by the anime.
Does this even count as a leak? 90% of this may be untrue but anyone with a brain knows the monetization on this is going to be incredibly predatory.
>>57917840I assume it's to prevent interference. If everyone was using local wifi it'd be even more of a clusterfuck of disconnects than it already is (it's common to have battles dc at the start at least a couple times at an event). At least with a wired connection the only disconnects are from the shitty code and not from the physicality of 800 Switches all broadcasting over similar frequencies. The downside to lan mode is it requires you to be online. Even without that, however, the rental code requirement also forces the need for online.
>>57916906unless it's some gay shit like "only mons from n-game" like normal VGC I'm ok with it
>>57916630>picdoubt they want to add migu, considering she's a SEGA slut but considering voltage also exist(ed?) maybe? I'd cream my pants if they add teto
>>57918200Sega and Game Freak go way back so something could happen.
>>57915717 (OP)I get putting cosmetics behind payments but having attempts for single-player content gated behind payments is predatory as fuck and no one would stick to this unless they did also plan to finally shutdown Showdown. Also wtf is going on with shinies? They're not going to have the sparkle unless you complete something for them to have that since it's a before battle effect? What about the ribbons I've collected and their titles?
I would much rather pay individually for campaign/battle packs, like paying for unique Battle Facilities to play indefinitely. As it is described here, this has the ability to be extremely phoned in and not at all what the announcement trailer made it out to be (as a Stadium follow-up).
>>57915941>triples is a 6v6 formatI distinctly remember playing triple battles that only allowed you to bring four, like double battles. It stuck out to me since it was weird having only one mon in the back. Though after looking it up it seems the Battle Maison, etc. didn't have this restriction so I don't know where I'm pulling this memory.
>>57915718>The shiny pokemon effect is a part of the entrance effects categoryHonestly I would love if you could send out shinies without the sparkles effect.
>>57916437>>forces all IVs at 31 instead of 0Other than everything being slightly bulkier due to higher HP, what's the difference?
>>57919808You're probably thinking of rotation battles
>>57919828Oh yeah. I must have assumed triple battles worked the same way.
