When does Johto get good? I'm like 10 episodes in and the only good one was the baseball girl. I'm considering skipping episodes

Otherwise, it doesn't. Just an incessantly bland experience with no payoff and disappointments around every corner.

It gets good around the episode where Jasmine makes her anime debut I reckon (just before the start of Season 5: Master Quest).

If you're asking this before reaching Goldenrod, then there's not much hope, you will most certainly be skipping episodes. The OP in /padt/ has a filler guide to help.

Just watch the Gym Leaders and League episodes, the rest of the episodes are Ash and co meeting a trainer with Pokemon of the week, Team Rocket appears, they defeat Team Rocket and continue on their way, yes Kanto also did this but at least the Cotd were more memorable or there was some change in the structure like a contest, race, competition, exploration or the presentation of an important character, Johto is the flattest and most boring of the anime to the point that it killed Pokemania.
At most I would recommend the episodes of Duplica and Charizard Valley out of pure nostalgia.
