I was looking up old pokemon mysteries and rumors and I figured it would be fun to have a thread about them. Bullshit theories and rumors have always been a big part of pokemon, but these days they only exist as leak wank since games can't hide secrets anymore.
Shout out to Mewthree.
Dang, I forgot I need to say something that can piss somebody off to start discussions here.
Pokemon has gone to shit since it lost the ability to have genuine mystery and a sense of discovery. These days everybody knows about most of the stuff to discover in the game before they even get released. No wonder people eat up Kanto so much, it was one of the last times we actually got to experience wonder at all.
Honestly I never heard a lot of rumors other than the classic Mew under the truck, Pokegods in Bill's backyard and fight Prof Oak after defeating the E4 an arbitrary number of times.

I swear the UK's Nintendo Official Magazine once wrote you could get Yoshi, though they might admittedly have immediately debunked it. That said, the Yoshi rumour was very prevalent online.
The staggered international release really fucked with fans because everyone had a million and one theories on how you could get characters who'd appeared in season two of the anime in Japan, or Ho-oh and Togepi or, lest we forget, the king of the playground rumour, PIKABLU.
>>57916651 (OP)As a kid I saw a video of a romhack of Pokemon Ruby or Emerald showing a secret place in rustboro city that led to deoxyd or jirachi I forgot. I spent so much time trying to reproduce it
>>57916651 (OP)I knew about the "X number of rocket launches in RSE Mossdeep City" one where eventually you were supposed to go to the moon, and then encounter Jirachi/Deoxys/etc.
As a kid, I had a dream about finding rare pokemon in a spooky basement, so after waking up I scoured the mansion in Gale of Darkness to no avail.

>>57918494I'm actually trying to compile a list of pokegods and junk and am trying to find some of the less well known ones. Mewthree and like Venustoise are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.
