Breloom is NOT a kangaroo. Its head is meant to evoke a pachycephalosaurus, its clubbed tail an ankylosaurus, its claws resemble a dinosaur's, its face is not mammalian, its body shape more closely resembles a dinosaur than a kangaroo, and Shroomish resembles a dinosaur egg.

It may have kangaroo traits such as hopping and boxing but that is NOT the same as actually being one. Thank you.

I see the kangaroo elements but I think more than anything I always just saw it as a mushroom bird. I guess the arms aren't birdlike but birds are related to dinosaurs so maybe I wasn't far off

Wrong. It's actually meant to evoke a mushroom (Shroomish) that has evolved to have arms, legs and a tail through evolutionary pressure of trying not to be stepped on. Its body is evolved to hop so it can step on others before they step on it. The fact that it looks like a dinosaur or a kangaroo is purely a coincidence. Thank you.

I agree with most of your points but I just need to nitpick this. With how upright it's standing, with its tail close to the ground, it's body structure is much more similar to that of a kangaroo than a bipedal dino. Dinosaurs had their torso parallel to the ground, with the tail serving as its counterballance, as high above the ground as the rest of the body. Breloom at best resembles old reconstructions of dinosaurs which have long since ben corrected to the more horizontal body plan
