Blake with a gun makes sense, given that he is a member of Interpol in the manga. of course, in the world of pokemon, guns are a lot less practical than using your Pokemon, but using them together, I can see many possibilities opening up. A human is protected by their Pokémon during a battle, and you have to be commanding your Pokémon, so using a gun while in a battle is tricky. But maybe if you were a sniper and were using an earpiece to command your Pokemon to expose your target from behind cover.

Guns are still super practical. The early anime featured their use. And even with the Marowak being killed, it would have been far easier to threaten and kill her with guns than with whips.

Fun fact, this was the Safari Zone episode where Ash caught 30 Tauros. This was forever a plothole outside of Japan, because the whole episode was banned and never dubbed.
