i loved the dlc zones in s/v. i much prefer it to buying a second version of the same game and replaying everything. i can bring my same team if i so choose, or swap em out for new mons as i find them. way better than what we used to have.

Definitely better than third versions. Although I do wish they would integrate the base game a bit better. SVs DLC had barely anything to do with the base game, which was its biggest weakness. At least they gave up an epilogue, I liked that.

They would be if they were stand alone expansions so I don't have to buy the shitty game they're attached to and just enjoy the relatively fun part. There should probably be some benefit for players who did buy the game though, which again other mostly stand-alone DLC does. The Xenoblade titles on Switch have done it to varying degrees of success if you need a contemporaneous example.

If going back to enhanced versions means more USUM and less Emerald and Platinum, then yes, however, with how the DLCs have been handled thus far, I'd say no since it means a weakened base game on purpose and pay-to-win with questionable QoL and overpowered legendaries. New areas are nice, but not at the cost of everything else.
The ideal is one complete game, no split versions, and no DLC or DLC is a free update, basically PLA without Mystery Gift.

-More decorations to the Underground bases
-Couple more evolutions to past Pokemon
