Does RS have the best "sense of adventure"? That's the meme in Japanese albeit
https://pokemon-matome.net/articles/2047441.html
It's a meme in the sense that they don't actually believe it or?
>>57923299 (OP)It's mostly coupled with the whole "coming of age" thing that Norman sets the player out to do as soon as you reach Petalburg, refusing to battle you until you've proven you're worthy of taking your first true steps into independence.
Sure, you've trekked a dormant volcano on the way to earning your right to challenge Norman's Gym, but it still felt like a very controlled environment overall.
After you beat Norman and get your Surf privileges though, the world vastly opens up suddenly, and instead of following the advice to head towards Fortress, you can explore ocean routes as you see fit rather than being limited to a scripted boat ride, and the routes to Fortree (later extending to the ones that lead to Lilycove) themselves are this long stretch through a dense rainforest where the grass grows taller than you've ever seen before, having trainer classes you've only barely seen prior that are now becoming commonplace and evolutions you otherwise only saw in your own hands or the hands of trainers.
>>57923345That's a pretty good point that I never caught to be honest
>>57923446I found Japs to be the only ones with an actual common sense to be honest
I said the exact same shit when ORAS released and all the response I got from this place full of retards were "W-WELL IT'S THE 3DS FAULT NOT GF THAT THE OVERWORLD IS NOT SEAMLESS AND RUNS AT 30FPS, WHAT YA GONNA DO YOU CAN'T JUST NOT MAKE THE GAME I NEED TO CONSUME THE YEARLY POKESLOP!"
Ok slop wasn't a term back then but you get the jest
>>57923299 (OP)so even Japanese zoomers are seething about RSE now?
maybe they need to go back and replay the more palatable ORASs?
>>57923310"meme" in the sense of "manufactured conventional wisdom"
>>57923300maybe I need to start browsing
>>57923299 (OP)>>57923332>>57923345>>57923446it's the best region with the best sightseeing and most environmental variety
that's where Hoenn's "sense of adventure" comes from, in addition to the seamlessness
also gen 3's art style is superior, with how colorful and clear it is

>>57923510Finally, the perfect post.
God I can't wait for all the Hoenn fags to die off like the genwunners did. They're way more insufferable.
>>57924514kantykes didn't "die off", they just don't post *here*

>>57924540real talk, do you wanna uplift the dude who uplifts Skyward Sword?
>>57923460I mainly hated it with ORAS because it removed that one perfect straight path from Verdanturf through Mauville and ending on route 118 with no interuption. Was also just outside the daycare making it perfect for grinding steps but ORAS had to ruin it by making Mauville a mall with ugly black screens and a big obstruction in the center.
>>57924540>is Mario Sunshine like Pokemon Sun and Moon?Holy shit. Jap zoomers are even more hopeless than ours.
>>57923299 (OP)I think so. It's the game where you spend the most amount of time out in the wilderness.
>>57925884Sunshine fucking sucks and they're comparing it to SM in a bad way lol
>>57923299 (OP)I would probably agree, although I think Gen I and Gen II are strong contenders as well. You have to be a certified zoomer to let the dated UI and graphics break the immersion for those but not RSE.
Sinnoh is good as well but a lot more gloomy and I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea.
Gen V on every element of exploration is completely absent.

>Why is it that Sun and Moon, which are officially set in the countryside, and Sword and Shield's Wild Area, which are open worlds, and Sun & Moon, don't have the same sense of adventure as Ruby and Sapphire?
>No matter how much time passes, it still can't compete with Ruby and Sapphire...
>The old grid-based Pokemon games are more fun.
>You use secret techniques (HMs) and open up a path to adventure. That's what Pokemon is all about.
>Sun and Moon are often praised for their freedom of story, but it's unfortunate that the paths are so narrow that they don't feel spacious.
>When it comes to a sense of adventure, Ruby, Sapphire and BW are the two best.
>2 The camera work at Sky Arrow Bridge and Hiun City honestly goes beyond the sense of adventure of the 3rd generation.
Some of the scenery changes depending on the season.
>3 Both Sky Arrow Bridge and Hiun City are in the city, so they're the opposite of an adventure.
>4 A magnificent view is part of the sense of adventure. The jungle isn't the only place for adventure.
>People who say BW has a sense of adventure have made me lose sight of what an adventurous feeling is. Ruby and Sapphire and BW have completely different styles.
>If you want a sense of adventure, RS and DP are the two best. And when it comes to adventure, it's all about nature.
>Sun and Moon <- Too many Howling, Liek, and Kui accompany you, too much boat travel, so it's more like travel than adventure
>Sword and Shield <- The Wild Area is small
>SV <- It's just a school event, so it's probably something like that

>>57923310referring to the person who said it as "Pokemon uncle" means they're likely mocking them
>>57923299 (OP)The real answer is no transition screens. Every other answer is wrong.
>>57926028I only really think that holds true for East Hoenn. West Hoenn has tons of caves and forests that have transitions.
