I remember someone that hated this design until they stumbled upon art of a female Rhyperior using it's hand holes to pleasure it's trainer.

I think most people just wanted it to be A rhydon without it's water and grass weakness, they saw solid rock and we're disappointed it didn't stop it from being ohko by its 2 4x weaknesses.

Personally I like it for what it is, just more Rhydon

Rhyperior's has grown on me over time, but I still don't think it looks as cool. Also it's gone from Rock dinosaur to monster rock, which is essentially Golem's shtick.

It's probably one of the few 3 stage lines where I can honestly say it looks less cool with each evolution.
