A Mary Sue has no flaws, is perfect and instantly good at everything she does. Liko has several character flaws like her lack of confidence and lost several fights. She had character growth because she started as an amateur trainer (something that people often criticised btw, but now she's suddenly a Mary Sue because she's better now).
