My eyes are fine. OP's logic fails. Gen 1 in Japan had Red, Green, Blue, and Pikachu. OP may had an argument for Gen 1 internationally, but Yellow is tied to Pikachu and the anime as its selling point. Having Zapdos instead would not make sense.
