pokemon crystal managed t o pack so much feeling and wonder within the confines of the gbc. i will forever hold that until animations become substantially better and diverse natdex is brought back, among a gorillion others to me pokemon will always be a dead franchise. i have my gens 1-5 forever though. maybe alola too because its fun

Crystal in general is the graphical peak of the franchise. The colour limitation led to the sprites looking very striking and they had more than 2 frames of animation which wouldn’t be done again until gen 5’s tweening.
