If you actually pay for and play anything through this garbage emulator service you need to be killed for the betterment of humanity's average IQ

>forced ugly upscaling
I thought they looked fine enough. better than CRT filters or super eagle 2xsai slop anyway
>severe input lag
not an issue for pokemon games but yeah big problem for any action game and this makes soulcalibur 2 and eventually melee unplayable
>no GBA connectivity
same as N64 really, what was even the point of releasing Pokemon Stadium without GB game connectivity, and also not releasing the game boy games outside a fucking tcg game

it really is an absolute garbo deal for full price, I only pay 10 bux a year or so thanks to a full family sub between friends and honestly if I didn't need online I wouldn't even pay that. the whole nintendo classics line feels more barebones than individual virtual console releases back in the day

>add transfer paks
why add that when it's useless? rumble is built into the controller, Switch has its own memory to save games and they could have added an artificial transfer pak that just needs to see RBYGSC save on your system which they could do via home or some shit. its fucking retarded how much they fucked this up but that's TPC for you

Nintendo don't own rights to Game Freak games, PEGI still applies to re-issued games (LOTS of old games rated for kids got re-adjusted due to horror or violence themes, meaning Pokmémon WOULD get rated "18" due to the gambling mechanics inherent in the games now warranting an automatic "18") and Game Freak would rather sell brainless bastards a kiddy-safe remake, than put old roms up that only adult cunts could play.
Or are you another of those povvos who doesn't know how businesses operate, thus assume you should be able to click your fingers and expect them to jump for you?

>what was even the point of releasing Pokemon Stadium without GB game connectivity
Today's adolescents are insufferable. Back in my day, resilience and persistence were taken for granted. Pokémon Stadium is not hard with rentals. Transferred mons trivialise the game. Pokémon Stadium 2 on the other hand is admittedly rather challenging with rentals, but there are several broken ones, most of which you wouldn't expect would be broken.

I don't recall saying anything about difficulty, my point was about the lack of defining features. hell they went above and beyond with super mario advance 4 on the wii u and included all the e-reader levels as a bonus which wouldn't even been possible on the original system, so that's like an original version with extras, instead of original game with major features missing like in the case of stadium, not that playing a game boy game in 2x and 3x speed in an emulator within an emulator would be extremely desirable but anyway was a thing

It might not be hard, but it certainly isn't fun when the entire point was to use your team that you had raised, so much so that they built entire sections on the game with that functionality (Oak's Lab, GB Tower, most gift Pokemon being choices and with 2 and the minigames using your Pokemon, Your Room, Mystery Gift and probably some other stuff I am forgetting).
Saying Stadium isn't hard with rentals is the same as saying the Battle Frontier in Emerald isn't hard, that's because when someone says either of these things aren't hard it's because there's a known set of things that work but at that point why even play, you're just retreading old ground/known things and not building a team or figuring out things yourself. Same thing with Ultra Necrozma in Ultra Sun/Moon when people were like "lol it's easy, just hard counter it with Focus Sash + Endeavor or use Zoroark".

Why don't you find out for yourself? Your generation is spoiled and allergic to trial and error. You always try to cut corners. Back in my day, we kept enduring. Also, the process of deducing which rentals are the best for each cup tournament is where the fun lies.

PEGI are fucking retarded and if the fucking Balatro guy can get them to relent a little bit I imagine the largest media company on the planet can get them to let them eek by with a 12 like the 3DS releases, especially given the 30th anniversary coming up and a reason to re-release their single most popular set of games that started it all.

More like the balotro guy was a fucking toolbag operating in an industry he had no fucking clue about the regulations in his haste to try and gouge as much money as possible off fuckwits worldwide. And as on the surface, it LOOKS like casino card games (even if its not), you'd think he'd have been a mite more careful about his release roadmap. He was a fuckwit retard, he got what fuckwit retards deserve. And that still doesn't discredit Tajri was a hyper-fixated cunt who decided he wanted a realistic slot machine sim in his game, but when that became problematic, he killed it and continued pushing the IP at its traditional market, which does not consider faggot teens or spergy manchildren as critical to its success. That's the issue kid, wanna release shit worldwide, gotta play nice by rules worldwide and if something's not exactly intuitive, expect to encounter challenges and problems. Or you can just not release the thing, release a remake, removing the problematic areas and selling that to people too. Guess what happened with the first 4 Gens (all remakes after the EU laws protecting kids in vidya got enacted, Game Freak removed and remade games with no gambling house to trip censors).

Balatro got an exception because it does not actually simulate gambling, it just uses the standard 4 suit card deck and borrows poker hands for scoring, but its mechanics don't involve betting and paying the winner. Early pokemon has actual casinos where the coins cost in-game money, you make bets on the rng, some machines are lucky or rigged or at least implied to be by npcs, and a loss removes coins you already bought/won, it's 100% the kind of thing the law doesn't allow in children's games. Could they try to throw their weight around to challenge the law with their near infinite lawyer money? Sure. Will they win? That's uncertain, and not worth the risk when they could focus on releasing NEW products they don't have to go to court to get permission to sell to their target audience.

Because back in 2016 the gambling only raised it to pegi 12, still higher than the originals but not not for kids and they knew damn well most people buying it were going to be adults revisiting their childhood games or older kids who can handle games not being as flashy as modern titles. If they were brand new games they'd want that pegi 3 or 7 rating to maximize sales, but free money for a rerelease was worth alienating the ipad toddlers who wouldn't ask their parents for it anyways. An adults only rating would hurt the brand so they'll never do it.

Really? I thought stadium was impossible with rentals.

What's the meta? As a kid I remember I used all 3 legendary birds, and 3 other pokemon I thought were strong but obviously trashed by bad movepools.

All rentals follow early stage => great moves but bad stats, mid stage => good moves but middling stats, final stage => bad moves but great stats.
If you want east mode just use the best mid stages (Kadabra) or busted single stage pokémon (Jynx), basically anything fast with Psychic trivialises the game.

It's doable, but some cups (ESPECIALLY the low-level ones) require a lot of RNG. Like the last couple matches of the Pika cup basically rely entirely on which Pokemon your opponent leads with.

Because EU law at the time wasn't as stringent, but DID become so after lootboxes and the like. Hence why everything since hasn't actually included a gambling hall, including the Hoenn gamble house getting shut down and the one in LGPE turned into an unplayable arcade house.

>fake gambling
That imitates real gambling, to the extent it teaches kids how slot machines work. the whole point of removing kid access to gambling is to prevent having an entire populace with gambling addictions and problems, because they learned how to casino as kids.

No, that was because Japan itself got a similar law. When it was just Europe they said fuck you and shafted the game corner from PAL Platinum. When American regulations got strict they made Voltorb Flip for non-Japanese HGSS. After that Japan got hit with the same laws and that's when Game Freak stopped making casinos.

There's so much wrong with this.
>Nintendo don't own rights to Game Freak games
Game Freak have their own games on NSO. Besides they wouldn't refuse their closest business partner despite what schizos may tell you.
>Game Freak would rather sell brainless bastards a kiddy-safe remake
That's right bro, BW remake in two more weeks. Ignore how they've moved away from remakes and their own internal documents said they don't want to do them any more.
Also, "kiddy-safe remake"? You're talking about Pokémon you dumbass.
>Or are you another of those povvos who doesn't know how businesses operate, thus assume you should be able to click your fingers and expect them to jump for you?
Thanks for outing yourself. Saves me time typing.
