All the mythicals have been shit since, like, Diancie.
People haven't cared about the Pokemon movies since the rebooted universe, arguably even before that (I'd say the Victini movie is probably the last one anyone gave a shit about but idk)
On top of that the gen 6 and 7 mythicals didn't even have events tied to them, so they really just felt like nothing.
This is why nobody gives a shit about Volcanion or Marshadow or the monkey guy from the jungle movie.
I honestly didn't even know Marshadow existed until right now.

New legendaries are actually in a great spot since they get entire storylines dedicated to them within the games themselves which are like old mythical events turned up to 11.
