alright thread made time to go to sleep
hopefully the thread doesn't catch on fire while i pretend my sleep """""schedule""""" is being fixed
Noice, new bread.
SO, Elite Redux 2.5.
You know, the game that is loaded with Fake Mons/Evos and every mon has 4 abilities, basically
I already played this thing before so to try and make this last a bit longer I'll play on Elite (both difficulty and level caps) + Randomizer (Species + abilities).
Never been a huge fan of randomizers in Pokรฉmon but that's mostly me not being in the mood to "Replay Kanto for the 178 time but now the Route 1 Mons are fully evolved Kalos mons" or something.
I found whatever this is and a G-Farfech'd that sets Aurora Veil on entry, neat I guess...
>>57944439millions mudt bump
>>57944503what snakewood hack was that ripped from
playing legacy because i felt like trying something more vanilla
fighting team magma at the space place
Up.
Irl stuff yet again.
And the fact that Elite Redux is more of a "Menu-ing Simulator" than an actual game with a storyline.
>>57948915>play a hack that's just hoenn with every trainer getting new teams and every mon getting a gajillion changes>get surprised when it's just hoenn with different teams and grinding npcs scattered everywhereidk what you were expecting
>>57949538I meant to say that there isn't anything note worthy outside of Gym battles since most of the game is pretty much a Team builder simulator on crack (I already played this before, iirc it was 2.1 or something)
I'll post my progress in a few seconds.
I found this thing (Redux Darmanitan - Battle Bond Forme)
It's Bugged, thanks Randomizer
So basically I caught anything fully evolved/NFE mons that interest me.
Already have like 4 boxes worth of mons but most importantly THIS angry bird. Pretty powerful honestly (also found a Staraptor with Drought so I guess I'm making a Sun/Fire Team...)
>>57952690>Forgot the pic, what an idiot.
Most of the team got replaced because they are slow as fuck for some reason.
So far the Redux Gliscor Evo, Redux Chomp and G-Moltres are pretty solid team members
>Roxanne Gym
Pretty easy even with the newly added Gym skills.
Basically for each Gym trainer that you skip the Gym leader gets some insane buffs like:
>+4 Def on entry for the lead & +1 Def every turn.
>Stealth Rocks & Last two Pokรฉmon in the party bleed.
>Last Pokรฉmon gets a +2 omniboost on switch-in.
I took down the +4 Def on entry dude and even with Stealth Rocks and a +2 Omniboost the Rock Gym was pretty easily swept by Redux Chomp.
>Brawly's Gym
This one took a bit more effort.
The gym skills:
>Foresight
>Last 2 Pokรฉmon in the party are Paralyzed
>2 layers of Spikes
>Mat Block on first switch-in
>Copy stats of the opponent on death
Pretty sure the last one is wrong, instead its:
>+80% Attack to the Lead mon
Obviously the Paralysis and the Atk buff are a no-no.
Despite everything, the team still came on top.
>>57952740>Forgot the pic, yet again. BRAVO.
After the 2nd Gym the Team looks like this.
>Redux Chomp has an ability that burns on contact 100% of the time which also works offensively, Cursed Body, Tangling Hair and Adaptability which is pretty sweet.
>Staraptor that sets Sun and can hit twice per turn.
>A Roided up G-Moltres that loves Sun.
>Entei Past Paradox that works like Regieleki for some reason.
>Morpekyll, which is kinda funny but honestly not amazing, specially since its innates also change when switching forms.
>Redux Gliscor Evo which acts as a wall breaker/pivot.
Pretty solid overall.
The Gouging Fire with a dangerous need for speed.
I feel it's not as powerful as it could be solely because of its mid speed... oh well.
Something worth noting about the Ability Randomizer is that it's per individual rather than per Species.
So you could turn this game into a Gacha hell simulator and try to get the most OP version of your favorite mon which I'm trying to avoid by only catching one mon per line.
I lurked through Vinceโs virtualization subthread in reborncord and noticed he made two more title images. Other than Yancy, thereโs this violet eyed Ribombee and thenโฆthis one, in which Vince was able to trace some of Wagieโs symbols that were seen layering over Virtualization on eons past.
I guess if no one were to send those ancient symbols, heโll find a way to recreate one.
>>57952900Yeah that's a thing with randomizers
Unless there's some limitations on how many things you can catch you're basically just able to reroll until you get whatever you need to make a good build
Perhaps gambling IS the solution.
Thi is how we'll save /vp/ plays:
With Blackjack and dubiously obtained monsters of mass destruction.
>>5795458299% of tripfags quit before something actually good comes out
the sharty has done irreparable damage to vp plays
>>57957572this is not true, newfag
even at the height of the sharty's relevance it was still just a minor nuisance at worst
and virtually all of the general's actual issues throughout its history had nothing to do with the sharty
>Let's go gambling!
got a "Free +4 atk" Redux-Aegislash (pic), a T.Spikes/Rocks setter Redux-Skarmory, a Drought and Water-proof Armarouge and lastly a Stall machine also known as Magnemous with Prismatic Fur and Storm Drain (with Leftys)
Magnemous can be thrown at pretty much anything and win by just clicking its New-found Fairy Stab.
Sunny
md5: e70c31f723ef77460cd46f132edd7c23
๐
The Armarouge took like 5 boxes full of rejects (it's not amazing, but it shall suffice for now), and the Redux-Aegislash is pretty much useless on the special side since, for some reason, mons that change forms like Morpeko or Aegislash also get different innates which can do nothing at best and be detrimental at worst (I'm guessing its the same case for megas which sucks since a lot of redux mons come with a mega even if the base species doesnโt).
Prismatic Fur is such a bullshit ability I remember i cheesed that fucker Dewleon in 2.1 with Destiny Bond or something similar.
Rn I'm on Watsons' Gym so it shouldn't take long for another post.
>>57958521Or maybe not... I'm having a headache but I'll keep playing later until I figure out what to play next.
Maybe Bioterror...?
>>57958803why not play Outside? I heard it just got some updates recently
>>57958516This game looks so fucking awful. Like a reddit powerlevel fantasy made by an ADHD teen.
>>57959928apparently the phrase "Keep It Simple, Stupid" was never heard by the dev
the poster below is exactly why it's over
>>57959404I mean if i'm not posting here is because I'm doing IRL stuff
>>57959928>>57959946Sorta, Randomizer is obviously broken but most of the time the whole "4 abilities" gimmick basically comes down to make Stab/Highest atk stronger, give more types (you know, giving Dragon type to Flygon in addition to Bug/Ground) or generally speaking making the mon "turbo" (like in yugioh) their main purpose.
Unbalanced? Yeah.
Ugly? A bit, a few redux mons are cool but some are super exaggerated outside of the obvious gag mons like Primal Cascoon
>"Keep it simple, Stupid"There is a more relaxed version of this called Emerald Exceeded which was the hack that introduced the innates/abilities gimmick, the Elite redux team just added a bunch of overpowered mons with super broken abilities.
>>57960323Lol
I remembered that I haven't finished Clover's Post Game.
MAYBE I should drop Elite Redux and play that instead before the 2.0 update drops (then replay it here)
How does that sound?
Jeez...
This place is fuckin' empty.
>>57961241At some point I'll likely post my thoughts on Reborn's Anna postgame (got near the end of main game and taking a break right now) but that will have to be after the weather cools down.
>>57961241/vp/ plays is dead because everyone left after the site got fucked, except for musk who used that as an opening to come back
but musk is a mega faggot and no one likes him, so no one participates in his shit threads. they only stay up because he bumps them back to back to back to back
>>57961304I guess vp has other priorities...
>>57961276Nice.
Guess I'll try to keep the thread up for that.
>>57961276buy an air conditioner
>>57961241there's nothing worth playing
almost all the really interesting stuff was already played several years ago, and things have only gone down from there
now there's just boring crap
the average lurker isn't gonna give a shit about someone here playing generic difficulty/qol hacks or games that completely refuse to deviate from the decades-stagnant GF formula
or shitty OPs where the supposed recap section is just a list of tripfags and whatever they're playing; this tells catalog browsers literally fucking nothing about what's going on beyond some tripfags they don't know playing games they don't know anything about, so they'll just think it's another tripfag chatroom and filter it out
nothing interesting being played, no new lurkers, simple 'as
>>57961878>nothing interesting being played, no new lurkers, simple 'asThat's an interesting point but even if we somehow played the absolute best Romhacks/Fangames I doubt it would get as much attention as other common threads in /vp/ + the fact that "the average /vp/ anon doesn't play the games and only bitches about them" seems to be truer than ever...
In any case thanks for the insight, anon.
if dubs the next poster to start playing anything must have specs weedle as a permanent party member, no matter what
that does not look like omastar
I stumbled upon Vince's sub-thread again on Reborncord and saw another abomination of a map. It's like he took a page from a magazine and saw various maze puzzles and then combined it. That singlehandedly toppled Starlight Galaxy from Pokemon Virtualization, and yes, it's another 500x500 map.
This is gonna be time draining for V7...
>>57964868And not to mention, there are actual softlocks in there too. If you went through a jump ramp and landed on somewhere that gets you nowhere, then you're actually trapped. And also if the player jumps off from the wrong flying ship, she'll fall into a bottomless pit, her team takes 1/8 damage, AND puts you to the start of the map.
Actual sadism...
>>57964874LOL! Wagie and RG may have gotten through 100x100 mazes, but this one is 25 times larger!
>>57964868What the HELL is that.
Yume Nikki's Hell looks like baby shit compared to this
>>57965045Why some people should not be allowed any kind of game development software
>>57964687last time i checked the purpose of making a regional variant is to still have at least some resemblance to whatever you're making a regional of
>>57965121Yeah, I agree. This is what itโs like when they were given tools for anyone to work with (both genuinely and/or maliciously). Mario Maker series are no stranger either, with level creators making asinine troll levels or incredibly hard levels that involve precision or some sort. Super Expert are the equivalent of Pokemon Kaizo-like fan games.
>>57964868>my browser stutters trying to load a fucking collection of game boy tilesChrist on a cracker
>>57964868what a fucking abomination
it would be a shame if
someone pointed out that creating a shortcut with " debug" (with space) appended to the end of an essentials game shortcut's destination filepath would give you access to debug mode and its left ctrl walk through walls keybind
>>57964868>>57964878>>57965989Go shill your trannygame somewhere else
>>57966257yeah I agree, there's literally fucking nothing new to post about whatever dogshit vince is shitting out
it's trying way too hard to be shit on purpose to the point where the novelty wears off in approximately 4.23 attoseconds, and whatever possible information could be gleaned by studying its failings is just common knowledge like "don't include softlocks", "don't make walking sims", or "don't spam a trillion mooks in a row", all shit that's just as boring to discuss as it is to sit through.
the types of shit games that people here actually give a shit about are the ones that fuck things up in creative and unusual ways/by accident, and generally have higher priorities for what they're meant to be rather than a genuine waste of time and electricity for everyone involved
there's definitely mental illness involved because no one sane would seriously put this much effort into something so painfully bad and unfunny on purpose and still expect anyone to care.
for all their flaws, the usual games that get made fun of here at least try to appeal to some kind of player. but who the fuck is this gonna appeal to, outside of three retards on some discord server no one here wants anything to do with?
this shit needs to go back to the one place where people genuinely want to know about it, its containment thread within a containment server
i just lost the game again
>>57943604 (OP)>Jannies throw a tantrum and nuke my posts in the previous thread because I thought Arcanine deserves better setup movesif you didn't break any rules I suggest going to the IRC. that's what it's for.
>>57967469even doe that happened weeks ago
>>57967846still useful info because people never report these abusive jannies and let them continue to be shitty.
>>57967846>even doebeing a shartynigger is one of many reasons no one likes you and by proxy one of many reasons /vp/ plays is dead
>>57968527it's so over that at least it can only begin from here
>>57967469I didn't notice that part.
He flooded the catalogue with like 7 threads that had pics of some variant of Arcanine with the text "Give [move]" btw.
>>57969279oh kek. that's why I said "if you didn't".
So apparently there's an enhanced version of Vega that adds fairy-types and overalls polishes a LOT of aspects of the game...
I think I will go with that, I genuinely need to play something with decent fakemons after trying Pisces
Chaos

๐
>Pokรฉmon Vega
A somewhat famous hack (along with Altair/Sirius and Procyon/Deneb) which I haven't played before (to be fair I haven't delved too much into old hacks like Gaia or Dark Rising)
So we start a new adventure on the Tohoak Region!
Picked up the Water starter and lost the first rival fight due to a crit... good start.
Looking through the dex this thing seems to be basically "Gardevoir at home but Ice type", and yep, it's as terrible to train as the real deal (only one damaging move in Fairy Wind) at least it's not Teleport...
I've heard this Hack is hard and so far everything has been a breeze thanks to a fakemon spamming Stab Poison/Flying against everything UNTIL the Winstrate Siblings appeared.
It's basically 3 consecutive battles (first two battles have 2 mons each, last fight has 4) which is essentially a 4v8 battle.
I definitely wasn't ready for that this early into the game (literally before the first gym)
>>57943604 (OP)>>Which is for some roguelitelite hack of Crystal centered around every mon getting its name and sprite replaced with a real world animalName of hack?
And we won.
My Starter is surprisingly Bulky for some reason...
Also i'm noticing a lot of Oran/Sitrus Berry spam against these early trainers.
>First Gym
It's a Fairy type gym with a Teleporter maze gimmick.
A few mons here like to spam what I'm assuming is a multi-hit Fairy move which is a bit dangerous ngl.
>Gym fight
Pretty easy (kinda) if you bring a few Poison types or just pick the Water Starter (Which I did both)
Now, her last 2 mons are somewhat fast Sing abusers so you can lose even with the type advantage thanks to that wonderful 3rd Gen Sleep RNG (I love being unable to play for 4 turns)
Also got a TM and realized that it's single use... just like the old times, uh?
>>57972915wtf is that UI
did something break?
>>57973057https://transfer.it/t/YYb6EJlxVZ5b
here it is
keep in mind the earlygame is gonna be shit because of depressingly minimal mon variety and the expectation that you have to whiteout multiple times just to get your starter at a high enough level to win wild battles
talked to a friend about the hack and his response was "i have a strong feeling whoever created this hack does not believe they are the gender they were assigned at birth"
considering the fact that i couldn't get a sneedshrew within like 3-4 hours of playing he's probably right
anyways have fun and don't forget to catch the boar and dog things in the first room, you'll definitely need them
>>57973329Seems to be "intended" outside of the obvious lack of stat names.
All other menus show properly (albeit a bit empty in some parts since it's clearly just a re-skin of Fire Red's status screen)
Up, I'll continue tomorrow.
the TRUE and HONEST reason it's over: (any actual oldfags already know this)
i've been spending my time playing non-pokemon games, both because there's nothing i find interesting enough to play for these threads, and because of some mythical creature called "friends that have other interests"
but that's not scandalous enough so i'll reveal another secret that'll definitely get me loathed on any /v/-derived board: some of those are even games i like

>>57975426I wouldn't call it "bad" but it's certainly incomplete.
Time to fire up the game again and maybe reach the 2nd Gym.
After the 1st Gym me and the team went through a cave and found Team DH (you know, the evil team)
Something worth noting about the Team DH's Grunts is that they use X items (no exceptions so far, i wonder if thats their main gimmick)
Also I'm noticing that a good chunk of wild encounters/trainers have lower levels than the first gym trainers (the gym was around level 10 to 15 while the random encounters barely reach level 9)
Got a Root Fossil and now we are on Seafin Town ready for the 2nd Gym.
>2nd Gym and Gym battle
I'm gonna be honest that I bruteforced the Gym Puzzle but not that it matters
Ground type Gym, Dies to Water. Simple.
Except that this dood has 2 fighting types for some reason... (a Hitmonchan and Hitmontop respectively)
Still nothing super difficult outside of the healing item spam.
Well that was fast...
I might as well reach the 3rd Gym.
>>57975033hey faggot, the reason it's over is because everyone BUT you left
absolutely zero people on this board like you
Damn, I literally collapsed from exhaustion...
I need to sleep.
Guess that's all for today
sir a second tripfag with terrible sleeping habits has hit the general
>>57977135Pretty much yeah lol
In any case the Vega LP shouldn't take longer than a week considering it's an old hack
