I think Pokémon Emerald is one of the best Pokémon games. But it has a few flaws to be considered perfect:
>It introduced some of the greatest Pokémon, but many of them can't use their full potential because of the lack of a physical/special split. Think Absol, Flygon, Crawdaunt, Breloom, etc. Some can only use half of their STAB.
>The Battle Frontier, while good and better than the Sinnoh one, has no level scaling. That means if you enter with Pokémon at levels 60, 52, and 50, enemy Pokémon will all be at level 60. In Sinnoh, all Pokémon — yours and the enemy's — are scaled to level 100.
>Bug-type and Grass-type Pokémon lack proper moves, making many of them have poor movepools (this is related to the lack of a physical/special split).
>May/Brendan and Wally are weak rivals.
