I bet they removed all that stuff because the area ran at like 10 fps because it would try to load all NPCs within an horizontal range but with no checks on the vertical axis
So if you were in the middle everything near the houses below you would load anyway and make the game stutter

I think the final is more visually appealing in the way that it doesnt just have a bunch of flowers and has a little farm which looks cute. My only issue is that we are supposed to be new to the house so im doubting the crops would be looking that good. The flowers give off a better sense of a new home. Imo. If I had to choose id go with the old but I see why they changed it because again its kinda boring.. maybe throw in some purple flowers so make it more visually intersting maybe? The house itself is beautiful and I love the Spanish tile. I live in Florida and I feel like I see houses like this kinda often.

The game was already chugging along on the switch. They had to tone the lightning down so the game didnt explode. It's sad Game Freak doesnt have time to optimize shit. The old texture on the stone wall also had more depth in the old version. Guess the detail wasnt worth the performance drop? Fucking hell.

Crazy how much they removed from the city. Those parts at the bottom with the buildings looked so nice, now it's just a fucking barren cliff going straight into the water. Lots of buildings within the city are gone too. What a fucking shame.
I get that they removed all that stuff because of optimization (and they really had to, considering that it still barely runs), but I'm sure they could've made it work if they didn't use whatever the fuck kinda unoptimized spaghetti code engine they made.

SV shouldn't have been a Switch 1 title after seeing how it runs on the Switch 2. Nintendo canned the Switch 1 version of Mario Kart World because of the framerate. GameFreak should've used SwSh's base for SV. It would've been much better recieved that way than trying to save face with a performance patch years after the game came out and will soon be irrelevant.
