Honestly I'm converted. Decided to give it a try after the recent update and it blows Pokemon out of the water. Its only downside is that it lacks the familiarity that Pokemon has

Which is a good thing since that's what separates palworld from being a flat out pokemon clone with shit like temtem.

Well the other thing is that people like to either misunderstand or meme it as some "Pokemon killer/clone" but it's just ARK, a Pokemon-themed ARK clone.
For me, the downside is that it really needs a balancing patch, some kind of once-over to tweak some numbers. Buff this, nerf that, adjust drop rates here, adjust catch rates there.
That said, I wish Pokemon would copy the friendship system that Palworld just added. I know it's basically just "EVs but super simplified" but I want it to be used as a balancing tool in Pokemon, some way for shitmons to be made ever so slightly more relevant via a little extra love and care.
But nah, TPC doesn't give a fuck about anything but their merch that they make a gazillion dollars from.
