It's clearly MichaelderBeste.
>extremely tactical and obsessive
>longest sustained number 1 spot in Showdown randbats by a wide margin
>held number 2 spot too at the same time with an alt account
>highest GXE of all time in gen 9 Showdown randbats
>held number 1 spot in every randbats generation at the same time
>countless tournament wins

VGC is not a real competitive format, since a lot of luck is involved. The greatest should be judged on sustained performance.

You mean Michael Kelsch?
Yeah, he's extremely good, but luck didn't play into his loss at NAIC. The Italians just played better than anyone else.

Yes.
His competitive name is MichaelderBeste.
He has had bad matchups. No one can match the performance of Michael over hundreds of games, like in the randbats.

>>57948358
No. He plays a lot more than the average fan.

How many burns have you incurred because of Scald or toxics missed? Get off your high horse, singles has just as much RNG, your Heatrans all come with Magma Storm.

This does not matter in random battles laddering. RNG averages out over hundreds of games. It matters in VGC, which is not the real benchmark of player quality.

I don't think he was talking about singles, but rather Showdown doubles.
VGC is a fine competitive format because you play enough matches to know who's good. If you are represented in day 2 at any regional/international with some regularity then you're definitely very good.

I am talking about singles, but this is also true in doubles.

You can do the same thing on cart laddering.
VGC is best of 3, plus several losses you can take in swiss before elimination, and open team sheets, luck is not going to save someone from playing horribly.
If someone consistently making it to day 2, they're good.

Open team sheets are against how the games are meant to be played. In the games you don't already know your opponent's Pokemon.

Elimination is not competitive when the game has RNG. VGC winner is mostly decided by RNG and random chance.

The GOAT has the best sustained performance with different Pokemon teams across tens of thousands of battles. This is Michael.

>>57948438
Showdown is no "cope". VGC is cope and it is a big industry where luck determines who wins.

>>57948439
You like Wolfe Glick because he has a lot of subscribers. What is his position in Gen 9 random battles? Nonexistent. He could never compete with Michael.

Nta but I like Wolfe because he uses really fun ideas and sees them to competitive wins. Perish Trap, G Weezing was popularized by him on gen 8 Regigigas teams and Toesdcruel teams.
There are way more reasons than you assumed.

Incorrect or straight up trolling. GF enforced OTS because they were too retarded to force battleboxes to stay locked during events properly like they did in older gens.

Correct, double retard. Gamefreak had no intention to stop scouting, OTS is a bandaid to their own incompetence that prevented you from altering a team after it's supposed to be locked in for an event. This is why team sign ups hsve you also list the stats and nature of the Pokemon.
Scouting sucks hard, no disagreement there, but that's not what it was for.
