>>57844318
>>57949932Did that happen to yoy or did you inflict it on the ai?
Thread question: what moment was the most clutch in your runs, the moment that would make or break everything?
>>57949502In RSE if you throw a neutral pokeblock (as in, a pokeblock that a pokemon neither likes or dislikes according to their nature) at a pokemon in the safari zone, it will reduce their escape chance to zero and you can just throw one ball at them after another until you catch them. You can manipulate the natures of pokemon by putting a pokeblock in the safari zone feeders. By putting that all together with repel manipulation you can get a really good chance to catch the a pokemon you want in the safari zone on your first encounter so it's nuzlocke friendly.
Day 28
As the moment draws near, I continue training, soaring across the Hoenn region on the wings of my Altaria. I revisit routes and rematch familiar trainers, pushing my team to their limits in preparation for what lies ahead. The League is close now, and every battle sharpens my resolve.
After much thought, I’ve made my decision. I won’t be using Rayquaza. As powerful as it is, it hasn’t walked the same path as the others. This journey belongs to the six who have stood by me since the beginning—Swampert, Camerupt, Breloom, Manectric, Mightyena, and Altaria. They’ve faced every trial, every loss, and every victory. They’ve earned this final battle, and together, we’ll see it through to the end.
EV training physical attackers for Littlemon challenge. Might as well post and bump the thread.
>>57951757Cool question for the thread. For me it was in Platinum when I was at a loss before Crasher Wake. His Gyarados would tear my current team apart. But then I figured out that Tangela could learn Shock Wave. It has 60 base power and I was uncertain if it would work or if this was a wipe. "Fuck it" and go all in and it worked and the run was saved.
Well that's one memory that came into mind.
>>57953018Plot thickens. Good luck
>>57952240Interesting. I never knew that was a feature. That's the kind of cheese you figure out through lots of play time, like the Castelia City Eevee repel trick.
>>57953018Honorable choice. Good luck against the Elite 4!
>>57954193I think shiny autists figured it out at first. It's just tangentially useful for nuzlocke.
Man FRLG has plenty of XP off random trainers to change gears and use different pokemon right up until you're at the tail end of the game and suddenly all your pokemon are level 41 at the elite 4
Day 29
I entered the Pokémon League with my loyal six at my side, ready to face Hoenn’s ultimate challenge. Sidney went down without much trouble, but Phoebe pushed my team harder. Then came Glacia, and the cold crept into everything—I honestly felt like my balls were going to freeze. It was brutal, and I came close to losing team members. Against Drake, the pressure was immense. I tried setting up Altaria with Dragon Dance to outspeed and use Ice Fang, but Salamence was too much. I had no choice but to switch out and sacrifice Mightyena to protect the rest of my team. It was a painful loss, but I emerged victorious and reached the final test: the Champion, Wallace.
The battle began. Breloom opened strong, using a series of Sky Uppercuts while dodging Blizzards, eventually taking down Wailord in a single blow. Manectric followed, paralyzing Milotic and blasting it with Thunder for a clean knockout, though it took some damage. Then Gyarados appeared. I needed time to heal Manectric, so I made the hardest call—I sent in Camerupt, who was crushed by Earthquake. But his sacrifice gave Manectric the opening to return and one-shot Gyarados with Thunder.
Breloom handled Whiscash effortlessly with Giga Drain. Swampert took out Tentacruel with Earthquake. Then came Ludicolo. Altaria used Fly, but Ludicolo’s Double Team and Leech Seed turned the battle into a nightmare. To save Altaria, I switched to Swampert, sacrificing my first-ever Hoenn partner. Ludicolo still clung on. I rotated between Altaria, Manectric, and Breloom to reset Leech Seed, but during the cycle, Breloom fell too.
In the end, Manectric paralyzed Ludicolo, and Altaria finally landed two Fly attacks in a row, finishing it. With just Altaria and Manectric left, I stood victorious. I was now the Champion of Hoenn.
>>57956123I'm so happy that I beat my Emerald nuzlocke. After failing miserably in Kanto and doing good in Johto only to fail to the fuck up at the worst possible point, I finally succeed in Hoenn.
I know I won but I really only had two pokemon left on my team and I'm a little upset that four of my pokemon had to die, I'm sad for all the dead pokemon but it was even more sad for Mightyena, Camerupt, Swampert and Breloom, they made it so far and I had grown attached to them.
And in my opinion, I will always remember Manectric and Altaria for staying alive and helping me take down Wallace, they deserve badges.
I had so much fun and I can't wait to begin my next nuzlocke. Platinum.
Setting up to fight Burgh in White 2
Are there any good spots to poison or ideally burn my raticate at this point? Grimer isn't super common in the sewers and I'm unsure of what to do. My team is pretty mediocre, box empty because of circumstance

I'm holding off on route 4 because I'm debating on cheesing the braviary, idk I'm at a loss and woefully out of practice

Littlemon team #22 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champ. Deathless & reliable strat. Level cap, no items, usual restrictions.
Gligar is great, no surprise here. Bagon is okay when it gets to setup. Everyone else is support. Tynamo has Thunder Wave. Lotad has Growl, Confide, Leech Seed. Lotad is also a great answer to Wailmer. Fennekin has Wish and Will-O-Wisp. Azurill is surprisingly good. It has immunities and Charm and Soak which is a super fun move.
Strategy is pretty much
>setup and support and gligar sweeps
Except against Glacia it's a team effort, and when Wailmer runs out of Blizzard PP it's Bagon Dragon Dance time.
All time top KO list:
30 / 30: Tentacool
29: Teddiursa
28: Pawniard
27: Tyrunt
24: Gligar
23: Stunky
20: Mienfoo
14 - 17: Gastly, Munchlax, Cranidos, Sneasel, Scyther
11 - 13: Pancham, Shellos, Doduo, Staryu, Wailmer, Torchic, Slugma, Riolu
>>57956307If this were Black 2 you could go back to Virbank Complex and look for Magby, but Grimer is the best option to get Guts at this point in the game.
>That teamYeah, that's a rough collection. Elesa is not gonna be fun at all.
>>57957914I ended up getting a moxie sandile and took out elesa with an eviolite boldore and krokorok. I had no business winning that fight
>>57957959I guess you got past Burgh without issue then? At least the encounters start to open up a bit now.
Day 30
After becoming Champion of Hoenn, I set sail for a new region—Sinnoh. With the journey behind me complete, I chose to leave Manectric and Altaria behind in Hoenn to bask in their hard-earned glory. The remaining survivors, their journey fulfilled, were released into the wild to live freely. My new adventure began in Twinleaf Town, where I received a Piplup from Professor Rowan, a determined little Water-type ready to forge a new legacy.
With a fresh start ahead, I began exploring Sinnoh. My first catch was a feisty Starly, followed by a Bidoof at Lake Verity. As I made my way toward Jubilife City, I added a Shinx to my growing team. After receiving a high-tech Pokétch watch in Jubilife, I continued northward, catching a Budew nestled in the grass and a Psyduck lurking in Ravaged Path. Unfortunately, large boulders blocked the way forward, forcing me to turn back.
I shifted course and went east instead, catching a Kricketot along the way. I passed through another cave, this time finding a clear path that led me straight to Oreburgh City. With a new team forming and a new region to conquer, my Sinnoh journey had truly begun.
>>57958752Forget to post this image.
>>57958626I remembered that the eviolite was in castelia and tossed that on boldore, also managed after literally 30 minutes to get raticate poisoned. I shit you not, I was spamming casteliacones in a fight with a grimer for 10 minutes.
>>57956123>>57956135A bit late, but congrats on the win! Rough losses, but they'll all be remembered by the survivors.
Day 31
I descended into the Oreburgh Mines to train and prepare for my first Sinnoh Gym battle. Once my team was ready, I challenged Roark, the Gym Leader of Oreburgh City. Piplup opened strong, taking down Geodude with Bubble. But then his Onix set up Stealth Rock, making me hesitate to switch in Psyduck, who I had originally planned to use against Cranidos as my expendable backup. Instead, Budew stepped up, using Absorb to bring down Onix.
Then came Cranidos. I had a flash of inspiration—Budew hit it with Stun Spore to paralyze it, slowing it down. From there, Budew drained its energy away with Mega Drain until Cranidos fell. Roark didn’t land a single hit. Victory earned, I smashed through the boulders in Ravaged Path and continued my journey.
As I traveled toward Floaroma Town, my Starly evolved into a stronger, sharper Staravia. Outside the Valley Windworks, I caught a Shellos, only to discover that the place had been taken over by the shadowy group known as Team Galactic. I infiltrated the building and battled Commander Mars. Her bulky Purugly proved deadly—Psyduck was killed trying to stall it. Staravia stepped up in a fury and took it down, avenging Psyduck’s sacrifice. With Mars defeated, Team Galactic retreated.
I pressed on and caught a Pachirisu to the north before arriving at Eterna Forest. As I reached the edge of the woods, I found a quiet cabin and decided to rest there, gathering my thoughts and preparing myself mentally for what lay beyond the trees. The deeper I go, the more dangerous this journey becomes.
>>57960176Yeah of course. Thank you.
friendship evolution is dogshit and fuck anyone who says others.
>managed to bumblefuck my way through clay and skyla with disgusting crit luck
How bad is the stretch after Mistralton in White 2?
>>57961030Drayden is rough even with a good counter, Marlon should fall to a good Grass type move, the Team Plasma portion i remember being challenging even before Ghetsis.
>>57961030What's your team?
>>57961030get some kind of sturdy/focus sash breaker like stealth rocks and start using it, particularly on colress

>dewgong's first iceshard did 25% damage to chansey
>dewgong's second iceshard killed chansey with a crit (the remaining 75% HP)
what the actual fuck?? I thought crits were x2 damage in early gens and then change to 1.5 in gen 6? how the fuck did it do so much damage? are critical hits actually 3x damage in gen 4?
>>57962208You're right, crits are x2 damage until gen 6 drops it to x1.5. The damage roll might have been higher than the first hit and killed with the crit, or Dewgong ignored its attack debuffs because crits bypass debuffs.
Day 32
I entered Eterna Forest and met a girl named Cheryl. She asked to travel together, and I agreed—it made navigating the dense woods feel less lonely. While making our way through the forest, I caught a Buneary, but her time with me was heartbreakingly short. A trainer’s Beautifly landed a Gust that took her out before she had a chance to grow. Despite the loss, my Shinx evolved into Luxio during our journey, and after some tough battles and careful steps, Cheryl and I made it to the other side. We said our goodbyes, and I continued on alone.
I arrived in Eterna City and began preparing for my next Gym challenge. While training, I caught a Meditite in the nearby routes, then explored Mt. Coronet where I found a Nosepass. I immediately evolved it into a sturdy Probopass, adding solid defense to my team. Once I felt ready, I challenged Gardenia, Eterna City’s Grass-type Gym Leader. The fight was laughably easy. Staravia swept through her entire team—Turtwig, Cherrim, and Roserade—with a series of Wing Attacks before they could do anything meaningful.
After the Gym battle, I turned my focus to the building owned by Team Galactic. Word had spread that the local bike shop owner had been taken there. Inside, I battled my way through grunts and eventually faced Commander Jupiter. She was undeniably hot, but her Skuntank was a bloated, foul-smelling nightmare. Still, I held my ground and defeated her, driving Team Galactic out of the city. With peace restored, the bike shop owner was freed and told me to visit his shop later.
>>57962144Make sure you still have Serperior and Ampharos for the final water gym. His pokemon are quite tough.
>>57963029I didn't debuff Dewgong's attacks nor did I increase Chansey's defense. I can only assume that the first Ice Shard was a low roll and the second was a high roll. wild.
>>57957009I've grown close to the Gligar line after my Gliscor in Platinum was such a beast to use. It deserves its top 5 placement here.
>>57963385I never quite registered that you could immediately evolve Nosepass in Sinnoh after catching it. It probably outright trivializes Mars and her Skuntank this early in the game.
What do you do with Eevees in Gen 4
I got one with modest (but terrible IVs) and I was thinking I'd just make it a completely obsolete Espeon for just nature synchronizing because all the eeveelutions look so worthless. Umbreon has no access to a self-heal at a reasonable level for decent toxic stalling so I'd rather give the TM to something else, leaving him with nothing.
>>57965597At worst you can get Glaceon for something to deal with Garchomp. Whether it actually works that simply i can't say personally.
swapped in my aron into wattson's voltorb RIGHT as it exploded that's what i'm talking about baby
>>57965885Calm Mind TM is postgame, Jolteon agility is past the elite 4 level cap, same with Leafeon learning sword's dance at some retarded high level, no nasty plot options.
But you made me look enough that I notice Leafeon can learn the sword's dance TM too, which is just a game corner buy in gen 4, so that's a physically bulky and pretty quick sword's dance baton passer. Sucks I got a modest eevee this gen I guess.
>>57964716Yeah it those, Skuntank did fuck all. Though it's not like Probopass could do much against her Skuntank either, I just waited until she used all her Night Slashes then switched out to Shellos.
Day 34
After receiving a bicycle, I took a detour to explore the Old Chateau, a place steeped in eerie silence and unsettling vibes. The atmosphere was thick with dread, and while exploring its haunted halls, I stared into a flickering TV screen and was startled to find a Rotom lurking inside. Despite the chill down my spine, I managed to catch it. Shaken by the experience, I wasted no time fleeing the mansion and pedaled away, hoping to leave the ghosts behind me.
Riding down the long cycling road, I felt a wave of pride as my Piplup finally evolved into a Prinplup. Stronger and more resilient, it felt like my journey was stepping into a new phase. I soon reached Wayward Cave, where I caught a Bronzor deep within the dim labyrinth. The cave’s twists and shadows had me hopelessly lost until I met a girl named Mira. She asked to travel together, and we teamed up, helping one another navigate the darkness until we finally found our way out.
With fresh air and daylight once more, I continued east through Mt. Coronet, where the terrain grew more rugged. Along the way, I caught a Ralts, adding a psychic presence to my team. Eventually, I arrived in the lively streets of Hearthome City, where the next stage of my Sinnoh journey awaited.
>>57968962Any advice for Fantina?
>>57969010Fantina has never been an easy fight for me. Encounters are limited in Platinum and she gets a fully evolved Pokémon while you get second stage mons at best. Probopass mifht be your best option here.
No one likes these boring cartoon animals except for zoophiles (but they don't count as people).
>>57968233>Yeah it thoseIt does, Connor. It does.
Day 34
While exploring Hearthome City, I received a gift from Bebe—a precious Eevee, full of potential. Ready to prove myself again, I challenged the local Gym Leader, Fantina. She was graceful, mysterious, and undeniably beautiful, but I stayed focused. Luxio opened the battle, using Bite to take down both Duskull and Haunter. Mismagius, however, was a real challenge. Fast and tricky, it kept the pressure on, but Staravia pulled through with a series of well-placed Wing Attacks, ending the fight and earning me another badge.
After my victory, I left Hearthome behind and caught a Chansey in the nearby routes. On the road toward Solaceon Town, Budew finally bloomed into a Roselia, bringing more strength and elegance to the team. With that, I arrived safely in Solaceon Town, ready to rest and prepare for the next leg of the journey.
What should I evolve my Eevee into?

Littlemon team #23 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champ. Deathless & reliable strat, no bag items, level caps etc.
>Claude edition!
This was one of the hard runs. I imagined Squirtle and Bulbasaur would co-op this and that the Cleffa would be useless, but it never goes as planned.
After a few tries at Sidney I thought it might not even be possible, but eventually it worked out.
The three Cleffa have very good support moves such as Charm, Wish, Thunder Wave, Tickle, Aromatherapy, Flash and Confide.
Bulbasaur has Leech Seed. Squirtle learns Iron Defense and Water Spout and Ice Beam.
I didn't expect much from Diglett, but it ended being the top hitter. Outspeeds everything, learns good moves and hits like a truck. What more can you ask
Sidney:
>setup and squirtle sweeps
Phoebe:
>setup and diglett sweeps
Glacia:
>bulba kills abomasnow, setup against froslass and diglett sweeps
Drake:

>>57964716Yeah, Gligar in this challenge is one of the most "natural" or "organic" sweepers. For example, Tentacool sweep was artificial to see if anybody could actually get the 30 KOs. Tentacool is still one of the coolest Pokemon.
>>57969647Nice that you beat Fantina without losses
>>57967149Rock / Steel is kinda bad, but sometimes it just pays off and it's sweet
>>57969648Depends on its nature and what role or coverage you need. For example, i wouldn't do an Adamant Jolteon since that lowers special attack, which is the attack stat you want to be using in battle. You'll need to search it up online to see what nature affects which stat. I suggest you wait a bit on evolving it until you have an idea on your final team, but also remember that Distortion World Cyrus exists.

I'm planning on a Baton Pass team in the future but I haven't decided on the hero yet. A mid Pokemon like Zubat or Minccino or Goomy perhaps.
Pic not related, on a test run it seems like Rufflet can beat Sidney and Phoebe on its own
What are some good romhacks to nuzlocke? Dray hacks always seem fun in principle, but the battles are such bullshit at times that it feels impossible to beat them without looking at the files.
Had my first wipe in renegade plat to Jupiter
To my knowledge, the game doesn't give you lum berries at this point, so her golbat can just run a confuse train on you for free
By the time I was done with it, my team was just too whittled down to deal with the remaining mons.
>>57969010against mismagius switch in bibarel on a shadow ball to bait a magical leaf, switch in crobat with the dread plate from the rotom house on 4x resisted magical leaf, bite her, crobat should survive a crit psybeam, bite again and it's dead.
If I look this up on calcs it's actually closer to killing crobat on a crit than I thought so it might not be crit-safe with a -sp. d nature
>>57973382Hacks like Polished Crystal and Emerald++, depending on how you feel about modernized romhacks.
Day 35
I ventured into the misty Lost Tower, where the atmosphere was heavy with silence and spirits. Among the drifting fog, I caught a Duskull lurking in the shadows, its presence adding a ghostly edge to my growing team. After paying my respects and leaving the tower behind, I set off toward Veilstone City.
Along the way, I caught a swift Scyther and a cheerful Marill, both adding variety and strength to my options. As I traveled, I was surprised and impressed when Luxio evolved into a powerful Luxray sooner than expected, its electric presence now stronger than ever. I arrived in Veilstone City, but after hearing how formidable the Gym Leader was, I decided to hold off on the challenge for now.
Instead, I made my way south toward Pastoria City. During the journey, I discovered a cave dug by a dedicated Ruin Maniac, where I caught a determined Hippopotas. I also added a fiery Houndour to my team. Passing by the quiet waters of Lake Valor, I reached the serene Grand Lake Hotel and decided to rest up there, letting my team recover and prepare for what lies ahead.
>>57974447So based on my situation and the pokemon I have, is there a good chance that I could fuck up or am I relatively safe for now?
I've only lost Buneary and Psyduck.
I think I fucked up. Seems like I softlocked my OR run. I beat Petalburg gym and now I'm at the part when you first need to surf east from Mauville. I don't have any pokemon that can learn surf and I've already caught a pokemon in every accessible area. I forgot to collect old rod and Mr. Britney has disappeared so I can't get back to Dewford. My only option seems to be to catch a shiny who can learn surf.
>>57974480Bronzor is great, so is Duskull for safe switching.
>>57974597The HM Slave clause exists for this very reason. Just catch a mon that can learn surf amd never use it in battle.
>>57974617Thanks for the advice, I'm tempted to do this. First I'll watch a movie or two and try to catch it. Route 103 has Wingull and Ziggy (and Poochyena).
>>57974480You've got a good team, especially if Bronzor has Levitate and Luxray has Intimidate. Maylene might give you some trouble, but it's expected with that Luxario of hers. Just remember that Crasher Wake has an answer for electric and grass types too.
>Lost two mons due to crits training for the Snowpoint Gym

>>57975157Yeah, Force Palm was doing diddly dink so I figured I could easily tank another hit even if it decided to go for Hi Jump Kick, my hubris remains the number one threat to my mons
>>57975148That's a rough couple losses. What are you replacing them with?
>>57975809The two that were of most interest were Gastrodon and Blissey, none of the other available Water types felt like a good fit, and champing Blissey might be a good way to get Scyther in Platinum if the fancy strikes, the only other point I consider Blissey is in Gen 7, but the powercreep means 70 Special Attack simply won't cut it
>emulator speedup into a trainer

Day 36
Leaving the peaceful Grand Lake Hotel behind, I continued my journey toward Pastoria City. Along the way, I caught a lively Buizel darting near the water’s edge. Once I arrived in Pastoria, I learned that the Gym Leader was currently unavailable, so I decided not to wait around.
Instead, I ventured straight into the nearby swamp, navigating the murky paths and tall reeds. While exploring the area, I caught a Quagsire, its laid-back demeanor a calm contrast to the wild surroundings. Not long after, I came across a grand mansion nestled in the region—Mr. Backlot’s Trophy Garden. Curious, I explored the grounds and managed to catch a Pichu among the rare Pokémon living there.
With new catches and fresh ground covered, my team continued to grow stronger as I pushed forward in Sinnoh.
Day 37
After some dedicated training, my Staravia evolved into a fierce Staraptor, ready to lead the charge. Feeling confident, I returned to Veilstone City to take on the Gym Leader, Maylene—a strong, no-nonsense fighter who greeted me with a swift, painful kick to the groin using her bare foot. That set the tone.
Prinplup opened the battle, using Peck on Meditite but couldn’t hold out for long. I switched to Staraptor, who finished it with a clean Aerial Ace. For Machoke, I sent out Bronzor, who tactically put it to sleep with Hypnosis and followed up with Confuse Ray. While Machoke stumbled in confusion, I took the opportunity to heal Staraptor, then used Bronzor’s Confusion to chip away until Machoke dropped. Staraptor returned to face Lucario, and though it was a close fight, several Aerial Aces secured the victory.
With my badge in hand, I headed back to Pastoria City to face Crasher Wake. Luxray immediately fried his Gyarados with Thunder Fang. Roselia came in next, laying down Toxic Spikes and draining Quagsire with Giga Drain. Wake’s Floatzel proved more durable, but Luxray wore it down with a mix of Thunder Fang and Spark, slowly finishing the fight.
Just after the match, an explosion rocked the area—the Great Marsh had been bombed by Team Galactic. I left the situation in Crasher Wake’s hands and began my journey to Celestic Town. The path took me through fog-covered mountains, where Shellos evolved into a strong and sturdy Gastrodon. Upon arriving in Celestic Town, I found the peaceful village under threat—a Team Galactic grunt was standing outside the ruins, preparing to destroy them.
>>57978065You should find Byron to be just as easy to deal with than Maylene or Byron,, maybe easier since he'll have Water types nearby.
>>57978437Um Byron will be easier than Byron?
>>57978536Wake*
I was half asleep making that post.
>>57979104>I was half asleep making that post.I can relate to this all too much...
>>57976691Gotta watch for self-destructers at all times. I guess loaing mons due to speedup is also a pretty common way to incur losses in a Nuzlocke too.
Day 38
I confronted the Team Galactic grunt in Celestic Town who was threatening to destroy the ancient ruins. After chasing him off, I took a moment to examine the ruins myself. It was there that I met the enigmatic leader of Team Galactic, Cyrus. He spoke about reshaping the world with a cold conviction that was unsettling. We battled, and though he was tough, I managed to defeat him. With little emotion, he simply walked away, leaving me uneasy about what might come next.
With peace restored, I decided to explore parts of Sinnoh that had previously been out of reach. I made my way to the Fuego Ironworks, where I caught a fiery Magmar outside the factory. Unfortunately, my time there was marred by tragedy—Bronzor was taken down by a trainer’s Machoke. It was a hard loss, especially after everything Bronzor had contributed during the battle against Maylene.
Trying to refocus, I traveled south of Sandgem Town and spent some time fishing, eventually reeling in a Finneon. Along the route, I also came across and caught a Sudowoodo, its stiff stance almost convincing enough to fool me into thinking it was just a tree.
>>57981083That's a rough loss, especially if Bronzong had levitate. Never quite gotten around to using Houndoom, but i hope to change that soon.
>>57981083>bronzor Oh no.
Did you get a storm drain Finneon?
>>57973638Yeah, that sounds like a Drayano hack alright. Are you still running RenPlat or did you switch to something else?
>>57984447Yeah I actually beat her last night, I spent a lot of time looking at encounter tables and trainer movesets this time.
It's annoying, but if anyone can do this game blind I'm impressed.
I just used a throwaway gyarados with leftovers to spam ice fang against the golbat, but it ended up breaking out of confusion anyway.
The rest of her team wasn't a problem.
Day 39
I made my way to Canalave City, catching a loud-mouthed Chatot along the route. Before challenging the Gym, I traveled to Iron Island for some extra training. There, I teamed up with a trainer named Riley to chase off a group of Team Galactic grunts stirring up trouble in the mines. With their plans foiled, I returned to Canalave, ready for the Gym challenge.
Gym Leader Byron turned out to be a complete pushover. Houndoom opened strong, melting his Magneton with two Fire Fangs. Gastrodon followed up with a pair of Water Pulses to bring down Steelix. Finally, Staraptor stepped in and absolutely wrecked Bastiodon with a single Close Combat—Byron's ace didn’t even get to move. With barely a scratch on my team, I claimed my sixth badge.
No time to celebrate, though. News broke of an explosion at Lake Valor. I flew there immediately, only to find the lake completely drained. Team Galactic had captured the legendary Pokémon Azelf. I faced Commander Saturn and beat him, but the situation had escalated. I learned that Team Galactic was now targeting the other lake guardians scattered across Sinnoh.
>>57982158Bronzong is amazing and it's ashame it died.
>>57983688I didn't check when I caught it. I'll check next time.
>>57984594I think there was someone doing a blind runthrough last thread at least, no looking at the docs at least.
>>57985308That's actually impressive that Staraptor one shot Bastiodon. If Byron had got off Stone Edge or Metal Burst i doubt that Staraptor would still be alive, so it's a good thing that Sturdy doesn't have its gen 5 mechanics here.
>>57986726Bastiodon is Rock/Steel so takes quadruple damage from CC and that 168 DEF is less impressive if you take into consideration it's baffling 60 HP. Also after Intimidate SE would barely scratch Staraptor because 58 ATK.
Day 40.
I headed to Lake Verity next, where Team Galactic had already made their move. Despite my efforts, they succeeded in capturing the legendary Pokémon Mesprit. I battled my way through their grunts, and during the chaos, my Prinplup evolved into the mighty Empoleon. With my new ace leading the charge, I took on Commander Mars and defeated her, but the damage was done—two of the lake guardians were now in Galactic’s hands.
Determined to stop them, I made my way far north, venturing into Sinnoh’s snowy wilderness with the goal of reaching Lake Acuity. The icy winds were harsh, but I pushed through and caught both a Sneasel and a Snover as I trudged through the deep snow. Although I couldn’t access Lake Acuity yet, I eventually reached Snowpoint City and decided to take on the local Gym Leader, Candice—who, I have to say, is pretty cute.
The battle opened with her Sneasel landing some quick Ice Shards that nearly took out Staraptor, but Staraptor responded with one clean Close Combat and took it down. Houndoom stepped in next, landing a one-shot Fire Fang on her Abomasnow. Empoleon followed up, washing away Piloswine with a powerful Surf. Then came her Froslass. Slippery and evasive, it gave me real trouble and even managed to freeze Luxray with Blizzard. Still, Luxray broke through and finished the job with a few Crunches.
With Candice defeated, I earned my seventh badge and stood one step closer to the Pokémon League—though Team Galactic’s plan still loomed large.
>>57987021Yeah, it's just surprising to me that a physical tank get one shot by Close Combat, even with x4 effectiveness. It still would have taken out Staraptor if it had survived and used Metal Burst, but i'm pretty sure Platinum trainer ai prioritizes super effective moves, besides Cynthia who actually switches her team out sometimes.
>>57987182Hope you're ready for Cyrus. I find him decently easy to deal with except for his Gyarados, every time.
>>57989367I still have the second Cyrus fight to go through. The one in Team Galactics HQ.

Littlemon team #24 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champion. Deathless & reliable strat. Level cap etc.
Ferroseed edition
I always knew it was good, but damn. Sets up for itself and others and KOs everything. It does everything. Leech Seed + Spikes + Iron Defense + Protect with Iron Barbs is something else alright. I also noticed it has some quite unique battle animations. I love this Pokemon, it's one of the GOATs of this challenge <3
Karrablast is Ferro's sidekick. It has a respectable 9 KOs in this run. Fast and hits hard. Soloes Phoebe's team.
Clauncher was supposed to be the hero of a team but it ended up being a backup. Kills Zoroark and Kingdra. Whismur is a support.
I didn't expect TOO MUCH from Timburr but hey it's quite alright with Iron Fist + Drain Punch and Ice Punch.
>>57991114Strat is quite straight forward this time. No targeting a speficic mon so someone can setup and sweep. It's mostly just "A beats B".

Day 41.
I rushed to Lake Acuity, but I arrived too late. Team Galactic had already captured the final lake guardian, Uxie. I didn’t even get the chance to face Commander Jupiter—she was already gone. Still, I managed to catch a Snorunt in the icy wilderness before setting my sights on Team Galactic’s headquarters in Veilstone City. My goal was clear: rescue the lake guardians and put a stop to their plan.
I infiltrated their massive HQ, fighting my way through the grunts scattered throughout the building. Eventually, I confronted Cyrus once again. The battle was intense, but I came out on top. After the fight, he revealed his chilling ambition—to create a new world, one without spirit, shaped entirely by his design. Worse still, Team Galactic had already forged the Red Chain by torturing Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf.
Despite the horrors they endured, I reached the holding chamber and freed the three lake guardians. As they escaped, I faced Commander Saturn one more time. He tried to stop me, but I defeated him and left their HQ behind, knowing the real battle was yet to come.
I soon learned that Team Galactic planned to ascend Mt. Coronet, taking the Red Chain to the very summit. They had to be stopped. I began preparing for what could be the final confrontation, training my team and giving Roselia a Shiny Stone to help it evolve into the elegant and deadly Roserade. The time for battle was drawing near.
>>57991376Any advice for Cyrus.
Finally, FINALLY took on Candice after plenty of setbacks, including the loss of two pivotal members of the team to some absolutely stupid grinding mishaps. The battle itself went quite smoothly; The Butler subduing her Snover, Abomasnow and Medicham with some deftly placed Fire Punches, allowing Star Ving to soften up her Sneasel with Intimidate before letting Tank CTRL finish it off with a super effective Natural Gift (Bluk Berry giving a 70BP Fire attack)
I decided to switch out Sondheim with The Butler since I thought of something I might want Chimchar for in Platinum, and I really wanted to use a Hitmonchan in Sinnoh anyway, so the switch seemed appropriate. Hopefully Sondheim can chill out in the box without having to tag in again, but you never know when a perfect IV +Sp A nature Noctowl might show up again...
>>57991392Prayer, mostly
That final fight against Cyrus in Platinum is brutal, Luxray should be quite helpful however as long as you don't lead with it
>>57990994Longer than a year, actually. During a HG run that had barely started, i got burnt out from doing so many runs on the same few games.
>>57991119Congrats once again! So Ferroseed has 15 kills now? Gonna do anything special for run 25?
>>57993434Thanks! Ferro-dawg's potential was somewhere around 20 at least, but I played it safe and let others like Timburr and Karrablast get the spotlight (Flygon has Flamethrower and so does Chandelure).
Hippopotas has been sitting in the box for the longest I think. It was on a winning team before, but I thought it to be too valuable to only do one specific thing and I replaced it with Phanpy. Maybe it's Hippo time now.
I would also like to do some cool Curse thing with Yamask but I haven't figured out how to pull it off.
>>57991461I like your planning
Day 42
I climbed Mt. Coronet, pushing through wave after wave of Team Galactic grunts as I made my way to the summit. At the peak, I arrived at the Spear Pillars, where I confronted Commanders Mars and Jupiter. I defeated them in battle, but it was already too late—Cyrus activated the Red Chain and summoned the mighty Dialga and Palkia. Just when it seemed reality might collapse, a new force emerged: the shadowy Giratina, who descended from the skies and dragged Cyrus into the mysterious Distortion World.
Without hesitation, I followed them in.
The Distortion World was unlike anything I’d ever seen. Twisting paths, floating platforms, and gravity-defying terrain stretched in every direction. I navigated this bizarre place until I found Cyrus and challenged him one final time, determined to end his plans once and for all.
The battle was brutal. Gastrodon struggled against his Houndoom, burning under its flames, but still managed to land a decisive Water Pulse to bring it down. Luxray stepped up next, blasting his Gyarados with one clean Thunder Fang. Staraptor came in to take on Weavile, but before it could strike, an Ice Punch froze it solid. I swapped in Houndoom, and despite the threat of X-Scissor, it scorched Weavile with Fire Fang. Luxray returned to handle Honchkrow just as it had with Gyarados, and finally, after withstanding Cross Poison and Confuse Ray, it brought down Crobat with one last Thunder Fang.
With Cyrus defeated, I acted quickly and captured Giratina, ensuring it wouldn’t be used for any more twisted ambitions. I left the Distortion World behind, leaving Cyrus to his fate. I landed in Sendoff Spring, where I caught a Chingling and learned that Team Galactic had disbanded. Their dream of reshaping the world had ended.
With peace restored, I continued on toward Sunyshore City, catching an Electabuzz along the way. My journey through Sinnoh wasn’t over just yet.
>>57990994>>55925058Lenna died in a fight with Sailor Barny on Route 118. Where Lenna was out for like 3-5 turns of the two Carvanhas using nothing but 10 power moves luring me into a false sense of security, until they vaporized he in one turn. This resulted in us cheating back to the Mauville City, before remembering dead pokemon shouldn't be able to use HMs.
This lead to us going fishing, where we picked up Boata, then Todo Bro after I realized Magikarp can't learn surf. I then got us stuck crossing the river fighting one battle before scuttling back to the Pokemon center. Until I engaged in the MOST embarrassing battle against Aroma Lady Violet on Route 123, me and Lewis both watched as we had it confirmed that we had Pokemon that would be taking super effective damage from the enemy and chose to change nothing. Todo Bro and Daisy died for out stupidity, luckily Boata evolved and gave me Surf, so I could return to the Pokemon center. I then stopped intentionally avoiding grinding, which would have saved them.
Things then went off with-out a hitch until Winona.
Peliper went down relatively easily, I was trying to take him down first because he resisted Surf, that let Swellow start to set-up evasiveness. Lewis had Green Guy not engaging with the Swellow. I was forced to send in Giana, who managed to use Encore on Swellow the one time he didn't use double-team. After a few more turns, she died and took the Alteria which just got sent out with her. I then sent out BonBon, and had her try to Sleep Powder the Swellow, Lewis started using our only inf. accuracy damaging move. The sleep miraculously hit, and Lewis chose to take Green Guy away not realizing the need for him. Nike Bro. then came in got Endeavor'd down to low HP, and began using Fly repeatedly. Bon Bon died, Boata came out and died, I was out so Shell Bro. was forced out, where he got Endeavor'd, but miraculously he hit a flamethrower, before he could get killed because Swellow kept aiming for Nike B

>>57994035Impressive work on taking out Cyrus with no casualties. Volkner will fall easily to any quick Earthquake user, but he should have coverage for Ground types as well.
Day 43
I began training in preparation for my final Gym battle against Volkner, the Electric-type leader of Sunyshore City. During my training, I fished up and caught a Remoraid, a small but spirited addition to my collection. With my team sharpened and ready, I entered the Gym for one last badge.
I opened the battle with Roserade, who laid down a layer of Toxic Spikes to ensure all of Volkner’s Pokémon—except for Jolteon—would be poisoned upon entering. Jolteon was still a threat, so I used Toxic directly to afflict it, then stalled and healed using Giga Drain until Jolteon went down.
Next came Luxray and Electivire. I switched to Gastrodon, who used Mud Bomb to bring them down. The poison damage from the spikes helped wear them down faster, which was crucial given how dangerous they were. Finally, Volkner’s Raichu entered the field, and Roserade returned to the spotlight. After a few powerful Petal Dances, Raichu was defeated.
With that, Volkner was down, and I claimed my eighth and final Gym Badge.
Now, with all badges earned, I turn my focus to Victory Road. One last obstacle remains between me and the Pokémon League—and I intend to be ready.
>>57996927Like i said, Volkner goes down easy. Just keep in mind what happened last time you ran the elite 4 and i think you'll be fine.
>>57998180I'm scared of the elite four. I'll probably be battling them tomorrow. Also it's my birthday today so today will be Victory Road.

It has become apparent I don't have a brain. Thinking about it, I don't think I have ever done a nuzlocke all the way through with-out cheating. Instead of doing anything complex, I'm going to a basic nuzlocke of the baby game.
I entirely forgot about speed ties being a thing until now. The larger route encounter tables means that I can't try to increase my odds of certain Pokemon entering my harem.
I entirely forgot about speed ties being a thing that is possible until today, cost me my least favorite monster.
Lucia vaporized Viola's Surskit, I left her in to use stunspore on Viola's Vivillon. Lucia got down to 5 hp before the infestation wore off, and I could bring out Freyja to finish the fight. If I had gotten worse rolls on the paralysis Lucia would have died. I though I made a mistake, not switching into Freyja immediately since I knew infestation was coming, but after shoving it into the Smogon damage calculator, if I switched to Freyja after the Surskit was dead, there was a reasonably high chance she could have died. I would rather lose Lucia than Freyja, doubly so with two bug types on my team already.
Day 44
I began my ascent through Victory Road, the final and most grueling path before the Sinnoh Pokémon League. With me were my six most trusted companions—Empoleon, Gastrodon, Staraptor, Luxray, Houndoom, and Roserade. They’d been with me through thick and thin, and while I briefly considered evolving my Hippopotas into Hippowdon or turning my Snorunt into a Froslass, I ultimately chose to stick with the team that had carried me this far. They were more than strong—they were proven.
Victory Road was no walk in the park. The trainers inside pushed my team to their limits, each battle testing the bonds we’d forged throughout the region. Amid the trials, I caught one final Pokémon before the League—a fierce Gabite that added a spark of excitement to the journey, even if it wouldn't be joining the main roster.
After one last climb and countless battles, I stepped out into the light.
I had made it to the Sinnoh Pokémon League.

I have more dead than alive in the baby game for babies.
>>58000065I decided mid-run I wanted to count level caps not just for gym leaders and the Champion but for certain rival fights and major evil team fights... problem was Freyja was already 17 a level over the cap, and everyone else was level 15 or 16 until I caught Sakura, which I lost Kaguya for which is where I pulled the name from. My brain isn't able to process the idea that a type can hit super effective against another type, but not take not very effective damage from the reverse relationship. I then lost Sakura using Rollout, despite saying out loud how risky using a move the prevents you from switching is, that forced everyone fight Snorlax as he had boosted all his defenses, and I couldn't do more than chip damage, this meant that Sinnamon, who I intended to kill Corpfish was over level cap, and everyone else was so close to 17 they couldn't let me catch a monster on route 7, to help with the fight.
I remember android 19's Corpfish being a monster, so I had Vesta my best attacker out first to try and kill him as fast as possible, I failed. When Vesta got low, I sent out Lucia, attempting to paralyze the Corpfish, which took two turns this got Vesta really low, before I pulled out Ashely who got killed instantly. Vesta returned, got a shot off before dying, and all the while Calem had been chipping it down (he also killed Trevor's Pikachu) he finally killed it as Lucia came back out, and finished the fight killing Trevor's Flebébé.
I'm doing a double nuzlocke where I'm allowed to trade between the two games but if one file wipes: the run is dead for both games.
I just got Blissey in SoulSilver :D
Day 45.
With all six of my loyal team members—Empoleon, Gastrodon, Staraptor, Luxray, Houndoom, and Roserade—I focused fully on training. I battled every strong trainer I could find, sharpening each of their skills and pushing them closer to their peak. To optimize my strategy, I visited the Move Deleter to remove some of the leftover HM moves that were holding them back, freeing up space for more powerful and useful techniques.
Though I’ve made tremendous progress, I know I’m not quite ready yet. The Elite Four and the Champion will be my toughest challenge yet, and I want to make sure every member of my team is fully prepared. I’m close—so close—to finishing my journey through Sinnoh. Just a little more training, and I’ll be ready to step through those doors and give it everything I’ve got.
>>58000931The trainer battles are rougher than the gym leader battles at times. Beware the beginning of route 8, because there's a Dragon Rage Axew at the beginning of it.
>>58001181Congrats! What's the other game you're running?
I've managed to bring the amount of dead and alive in the baby game to be even.
>>58000931I spent the beginning of the day by catching Lisa (she sketched psybeam) and then ran around clearing up Route 4, 6 and 7 of all the trainers I avoided to prevent myself from going over level 16. I got what I wanted least out of the connecting caves had I read the encounter tables better I would have used honey, probably would have gotten an Whismur though.
Went to Route 8, saw a Mienfoo, really excited to know I could use Tyquanisha as a suicide pivot with-out throwing. The Mienfoo died to a crit from Lisa, meaning I got nothing from route 8 which has to be one of the best routes in any pokemon game. I feel like I have never been able to catch anything on Route 8 whenever I play this game.
Me and Lise weren't clicking, and after killing a much prettier girl I decided, a guarenteed 3hko was worth risking her life to get, I tried with the trainer
>>58001950 warned me about, but they didn't use Dragon Rage and didn't understand how sketch worked yet. I then went back to the connecting cave she died when the wild Axew.
I then got the only thing I didn't want on Route 9, and an acceptable result from the Sparkling cave. Got an Amaura with a terrible nature in Ambrette town. Moved down to Route 10 where I was thinking about honey, but I already had a bug flying type and fire canine in my harem, so I risked it all for an Eevee and got nothing. I don't know what I would have made her.
>>58003480I then started grinding the questionable expansions to my harem up to level for the gym. I ended up with the only trainers being left being water type specialists and Bessy and Cinnamon needing to wait in the box. Leaving Lucia and Tyquonisha as my only response to water types, there was a Shelder with an Icicle Spear and Confuse Ray. Lucia took a 5 hit Icicle Spear and survived with less than excellent health after missing paralyzing it. Tyqounisha then took two 9 Icicle Spears hits in two turns and hit herself in confusion three times, for the three turns she was alive. I don't remember how I won after that with no loses.
I then while on the final level of grinding deleted Aqua Tail from Bessy on accident.
Grant was breeze compared to that random fisherman. Does Grant change what pokemon he sends out first based on what the player does, probably what fossil the play chose, everyone says Tyrunt is in his first slot. After I switch Dimitrescu for Bessy against the Amaura, Bessy was paralyzed, but Grant's Amaura couldn't do more the 3 damage per hit to Bessy, so even with Grant using a potion he couldn't win the race to the bottom, again this being after I deleted my better water move on accident. Dimitrescu came back out when the Amaura was low, thanks to a really low damage roll Dimitrescu got paraylzed and whailed on down to low health by Grant's Amaura, if I was handing out Oran berries she would have had to have been switched out.
I expected the Tyrunt to die in one attack from Dimitrescu, but I needed to bring Cinnamon in to deal the final blow.
I was going to say I am conflicted on whether to take Justine or a Pokemon I actually like in my 6th slot, because having a suicide pivot is safer than having a party you like, but I taught Justine a HM, so it's probably Bala who is going into the box after contributing basically nothing to the team, considering the rock type duplication and soon to be psychic type duplication.

Littlemon team #25 to beat Alpha Sapphire E4 + Champ deathless, with reliable strategy. No bag items, level cap*, usual restrictions.
>baton pass hippo team
A great team!
I'm gonna be honest here, Hippo passed the level cap by one in the end. The level cap for this challenge is 79 (Steven's ace Megagross). I usually start the run at level 75 mons. Hippo is a traded mon and it leveled up too fast because I didn't expect it to be a Baton Pass hero. I'm not going to trade in a new hippo and raise it to lvl 74 or something. But I swear upon my ass that one level advantage has no effect on the final outcome. No meaning at all. Level 70ish Hippo could have done the same thing, so breaking the level cap and my own rules doesn't matter this time. But I won't be making a habit out of it. I'll be smarter next time. And I did this run with only four Pokemon!
Gothita and Drowzee have great support moves like Charm, Confide, Flash, and both shields. After this Buizel is ready to enter and set up Aqua Ring, Bulk up x6 and Agility x3. Then it passes that to Hippopotas and boom.

Day 46
After plenty of grinding and a few final training battles, I knew it was time. My team Empoleon, Gastrodon, Staraptor, Luxray, Houndoom, and Roserade was ready. I stepped through the doors of the Sinnoh Pokémon League and began my challenge.
First was Aaron, and he went down easily. His bugs couldn’t withstand the power my team brought to the table. Next came Bertha, who was even simpler to beat. With three of my Pokémon having strong advantages over Ground-types, her team crumbled without much effort.
Then came Flint. His firepower made things more challenging. Infernape, Magmortar, and Flareon gave me some trouble, but I pulled through and took him down. After that was Lucian the most difficult of the Elite Four. I managed to one-shot his Mr. Mime and Gallade, but Alakazam and Bronzong proved much tougher. Empoleon and Houndoom both came dangerously close to falling, but we held on and secured the win.
>>58005767Finally, it was time for the Champion of Sinnoh Cynthia herself. Tall, powerful, and intimidating, she looked like she could absolutely destroy me, and part of me believed she’d make me her slave if I lost. But I couldn’t let that happen. I had to give it everything I had.
The battle began with Empoleon washing away her Spiritomb with Surf. Then came her terrifying Garchomp. I sent in Gastrodon, who landed an Ice Beam, but it wasn’t enough. Garchomp survived and struck back with Earthquake, dealing heavy damage. I quickly switched to Staraptor, who finished it with Aerial Ace.
Next, Luxray took on her Togekiss. After using Charge, Luxray followed up with Discharge and secured the knockout. Cynthia then sent out Lucario. I brought back Gastrodon to heal with Recover and try a Mud Bomb, but Lucario’s Aura Sphere landed clean, killing Gastrodon. Staraptor returned and, despite taking damage, dodged a Stone Edge and ended Lucario with a powerful Brave Bird.
Her Milotic was up next. Roserade stepped in and struck with Petal Dance, dealing massive damage, but Milotic retaliated with Mirror Coat, one-shotting Roserade. I was down another team member. Thankfully, Luxray came in to clean up with Discharge. Finally, Cynthia’s own Roserade entered the field, but Houndoom made short work of it with a couple of Flamethrowers.
I had done it. Cynthia was defeated. I was the new Champion of Sinnoh.
In the aftermath, I honored the sacrifice of Gastrodon and Roserade, two partners who gave everything in the final battle. I also thanked Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray, and Houndoom my champions for pushing through to the very end.
>>58005770What a ride. RIP Roserade and Gastrodon. Cynthia might be the toughest opponent on every Pokemon game imo.

>>58004816Well, it could have been worse. You could have had to redo the gym too.

Day 47
After becoming Champion of Sinnoh, I set off for a strange and unfamiliar region—Unova. Starting fresh in Nuvema Town with no Pokémon, I received an Oshawott from Professor Juniper and began my journey. My first stop was Accumula Town, where I caught a Lillipup to join my team. While there, I witnessed a strange group called Team Plasma giving a speech about liberating Pokémon from humans. It was bizarre. One of their supporters, a mysterious guy named N, challenged me to a battle. I beat him, but he left a strange impression.
Moving on, I caught a Patrat and received a Pansear from a friendly trainer who saw I needed a type advantage. I reached Striaton City and challenged the Gym. Since I chose Oshawott, I faced Cilan. His Lillipup gave me some trouble using Work Up, but Oshawott managed to take it down with Water Gun. Pansear handled Pansage with ease using Incinerate, earning me my first badge in Unova.
With the Gym behind me, I began expanding my team. I caught a Munna in the Dreamyard, a Pidove while exploring nearby routes, and a Roggenrola deep within Wellspring Cave. My Unova journey had only just begun, but my team was already shaping up for the road ahead.
>>58008600You're gonna need some good luck for Lenora. I hope that Roggenrola has Sturdy to tank Retaliate.
Haven't tackled this hack in a year, but I thought it'd be interesting to go back as it was pretty fun. Platinum Redux; a little bit like Renegade Platinum, except even more is changed battle wise (like way more than you're thinking it is) and imo considerably harder. For this reason, I'll be saving after every boss and giving myself 2 chances to beat the next. This does sound kinda cheap, but I got to Hearthome within 3 runs in Renegade Platinum and upto Sabrina in Radical Red without looking at their teams, yet in the ~30 runs I did last year of this hack, I only beat Roark about 5 times and barely managed to get to Floaroma once before wiping to the Galactic Grunt. Even today, before this attempt, I wiped to the Rival's route 203 fight. Yet this hack is incredibly addictive and fun. I'll be posting only when I beat further bosses that I didn't before, or at wipes past Roark.
Something I really like about this game is how it really tries to the earlygame battles interesting. Some status moves, like harden only have 1 pp, while others like Tail Whip, were turned into very low power damaging moves on top of their effects. Little movepool differences, like Sunkern getting Sludge for Dragon types, make every mon play very distinctively (though wurmple and weedle are still pretty similar). With so many modern mechanics in gen 3 hacks, I forgot how much I hate the more frequent and more powerful critical hits. Since it's gen 4, I thought about naming them all moves that're in gen 5 and later, though I did just see a Spinarak with Ariados, so this theming may not work out. Iirc, route 203 and the mines are kind of a guantlet, so I may end up wiping before then.
>>58009868Well that's enough from me for now. It's nice that the suggested level caps happen right as you get some evolutions, I think I definitely made the difference. Was not expecting the Sudowoodo to outspeed Matcha, but also wasn't expecting Doom to outspeed an Onix. Luckily I had the foresight to use my one Rapid Spin TM on Downpour, but I really hope there isn't another hazard setter before it gets distributed. Roark was actually a Rock/Bug gym, which made the usual answers less reliable, but I thought that by now a Combee would be long dead. Dreading the next fight, but one mon I have has a weather setting ability, so maybe I can cheese it.
>>58008188One stage monsters tend to be bad in formats where everyone is fully evolved, Level 50 or 100, and you have access to any Pokémon that has been in a game. When you are level 22 playing a game with either the 1st or 2nd lowest monster variety in the series things are diffrent.
Day 48.
I arrived in Nacrene City and bumped into N again just as he was leaving the museum. We battled once more, and I came out on top. To prepare for the upcoming Gym battle, I trained in Pinwheel Forest and caught a Sawk, which turned out to be a great addition.
Back in Nacrene City, I challenged Gym Leader Lenora. Sawk made quick work of her team—Double Kick knocked out both Herdier and Watchog without taking a single hit. It was a clean win.
But peace didn’t last. Right after the battle, Team Plasma pulled off a theft at the museum, stealing the Dragonite Skull. I chased them into Pinwheel Forest, determined to recover it. While tracking them down, tragedy struck—Munna was taken out by a trainer’s Timburr using Rock Throw. It was my first loss in Unova, and it hurt.
Eventually, I found the Plasma grunts and took back the stolen skull, which was safely returned to the museum.
With that behind me, I moved on and crossed the towering Skyarrow Bridge, stepping into the biggest city I’d ever seen—Castelia City. The place was overwhelming, full of towering buildings and people everywhere. While exploring, I battled some office workers in the city’s tall buildings, and during the process, Oshawott evolved into Dewott. My journey through Unova was truly kicking into gear.
>>58010438I'd say that classifies as good luck. Burgh shouldn't be too bad either, just remember that Dwebble is part Rock type.
I just beat Crasher Wake for the 4th badge and made the loop around back to Fantina's city (second time) but she's still not at the gym. I don't think there was a cutscene (in Platinum, Team Galactic bombs the lake). did I miss something?
>>58001950>Congrats! What's the other game you're running?Pearl

>>58003537I barely remember anything from these sessions, especially the save that actually kept.
I do remember this is the worst harem expansion that I got, but the other two saves I dropped had way more deaths. I had a Nidoran(f), a Carbink and Wingull in my first attempt at this. Carbink died after I managed to process that there was a Wobbuffet in the reflection cave, despite reading the encounters for every route I enter. Dimistrescu died to the Pinsir, did you know that despite being mono-bug Pinsir learn set by level up is almost exclusively fighting type?
Next run I got another Nidoran(f), a Chingling, and a Mareep. That's probably the best I could have asked for but Calem's Absol killed Lucia with a crit that had me immediately check the damage calculator, and then Sinnamon also got vaporized by another Absol crit.
The third time around, knowing the encounters made it very easy, unfortunately my catches weren't great from a cumbrain perspective. Chimecho would be nice if her third leg/tail was longer or had the ribbon attached... if the game could stop handing me fat disgusting monsters, I am out of ways to feminize the name "Justin" .
I didn't know how repels worked until two days ago, I knew before I got Rata killed, I just forgot temporarily that Rata was lower level than the Wobbuffets in the cave, I was trying to have her fight the trainers, to level. The gym trainer with the Throh with Siesmic Toss was more of a threat than Korrina.
I planned to leave in Justa to deal as much damage as she could before dying, but with a psychic type upfront I decided to us Toxic and switch to Bala who took out the Mienfoo, I then switched to Rayja, who too my surprise massacred enemies all through out the session, despite only having a 50 power move, is 90 Special Attack that good?

>>58011715Starting with the stuff outside of the Gym most of the trainers were barely noticeable, the Breeder with the Miltank got Bessy a little hurt, but only because of incredibly poor decisions on my end. The Swimmer got close to killing a few pokemon but only due to incredible luck and poor decisions on my end.
Calem was not a threat, amazing the difference an Evolution can do. I accidently sent out Bessy first, I needed her to fight through Absol and definitly through Froakie. Sinnamon got another try, and I watched her absorb a crit that I have seen kill her in previous timelines, she the one shot Froakie, but with Grassy Terrian and a Miracle Seed, I have been pretending Sinnamon is a grass type despite knowing she isn't, I mean closest thing I've had other than Kaguya.
While running to find the Flame Plate, I failed to get the 60% chance to get either of the very attractive Ground/Dragon types, and got Jenner instead. Had I realized what gym was next I would have used Bala as the suicide pivot in the gym instead. Justa learned a better fire move by level than Freyja has.
I started with Dimitrescu to use the 4x weakness Jumpluff has, because Dimitrescu is not getting a better opportunity, probably. To my surprise Weepinbell came out next, so I sent in Freyja because I felt safe and wanted to give her another metal, she killed it with more struggle than I would want. Then it was Gogoat, I sent Jenner out to probe the Gogoat's moveset, initially I planned on letting her die there, but after seeing it was using bulldoze, I sent Lucia in for immunity to Bulldozer, I then activated his Sap Sipper, and he showed me he knew more than Bulldozer, and Lucia had to switch out. Jenner got to fill her role as sacrifice, to bring Justa in. She poisoned Gogoat by going first, and got hit by Bulldoze, I didn't realized it was guaranteed to slow you, so I left her in to die. I think I would have anyway for the safe switch, which brought in Lucia who finished the fight.
>>58010023Wiped to a Bug Catcher's Kakuna on 204.... I think I'm not even gonna let myself go back to the Roark save. To be fair he did have a Haunter that outsped and landed a hypnosis twice (only has 2pp) so maybe I just need to learn to let things die sometimes rather than spread my resources thin by switching out. Only getting second chances due to dying to bosses seems more fair, as their teams randomly select from about 12 different mons each time they're challenged. Will provide updates if I ever get a future run that makes it to the boss before Floraroma.

Day 49
I traveled to the desert north of Castelia City to train and caught a Sandile along the way. After some prep, I returned to Castelia to face Gym Leader Burgh. Roggenrola opened strong, using Rock Blast to defeat Venipede. Pidove followed, landing a single Air Cutter to knock out Leavanny. Dewott wrapped things up by taking down Dwebble with Razor Shell. Right after the battle, Pidove evolved into Tranquil.
Leaving the city behind, I returned to the desert. Sadly, I lost Pansear to my rival’s Servine. Pansear survived a brutal Leaf Storm, only to be finished off by the sandstorm. Tranquil avenged its fallen teammate. I moved on to the Desert Resort and caught a fiery Darumaka, then headed into the Relic Castle where I caught a ghostly Yamask.
Misfortune struck again when Roggenrola was taken down by a trainer’s Sigilyph. Tranquil barely survived the same fight. Afterward, I received a Cover Fossil and took it back to the Nacrene Museum, where it was revived into a sturdy Tirtouga.
With my team shaken but still standing, I continued my journey and arrived in the bright and busy Nimbasa City, ready for the next chapter.
Any advice for Elesa? Those rock resist electric attacks?
I was originally gonna use Roggenrola to take out her Emolgas but I lost the rock but I do have a Tirtouga but that's a water type. If rock resists electric then that should take away the rock weakness that water types usually have.
Suffering from my own success :(
>>58012875No, Rock doesn't resist Electric type moves. Your best bet is using Sandile to eliminate the Emolga's, then probably Sawk to take out Zebstrika. Elesa is a tough battle, you're gonna need luck and strategy both to deal with her.
>>58012887This was all in the same run?
>>58012154And once again all the deaths in Kalos are to almost everything but thr gym leaders. I don't remember any of the trainers being bad on the way to Clemont, but i do know he has Grass Knot (because he wouldn't use it on my Diggersby for whatever reason).

>>58012154I suppose this run won't be the first time I complete a Nuzlocke without cheating considering I misread the level cap for Ramos.
Anyway nothing close to eventful happened at the power plant it was just a miserable experience crossing Route 13 repeatedly to get back to the center repeatedly, seriously why isn't there a PC in the Power Plant?
Tower was easy and Clemont should have been easy. Freyja two shot Emolga who was able to achieve very little. Magneton was the problem, or rather my brain was the problem, Freyja bounced of Sturdy, it set up Electric Terrain. I decided to swap in Bala, preparing to switch into Justine. Bala missed two Hypnotizes, and on the third I found out that Electric Terrain prevents sleep, she died and the Electric Terrain faded, Freyja came back in used, Mystical Fire, I learned that Sturdy reactivates if a monster is brought back to full HP. Electric Terrain came back up after it got sent to 1hp, another Hyper pot later and she used Fire Spin to ensure sturdy never saves it again. Clemont sent out Heliolisk, assuming that under electric terrian the best move for him would be an electric type move, I immediately swapped in Justine. Justine absorbed the thunderbolt, He used a quick attack accomplishing very little, the got hit with Sand Tomb. I then has Justine use Dig, to which he showed me a Grass Knot that couldn't hit me before he died. I don't know why he didn't use it last turn.
I briefly considered keeping Freyja as a Braixen, but didn't.
I have been considering what should be Bessy's primary item. Rocky Helmet has been what I have been consistently using on her, but Leftovers seems like it has more potential, especially if Bessy can learn a move that buffs her.
I have had half of my main team since before the first gym. I don't want to replace or lose any of them, but considering the Fairy double up already...

>>58014222>I have had half of my main team since before the first gym. I don't want to replace or lose any of them, but considering the Fairy double up already...Why did I say anything? Worst part is if it were Bessy or Sinnamon I lost then I at least would benefit from freeing myself from the Fairy duplication problem.
NasuNa'su died from a random Goomy surviving barely and hitting her with Bide while I was trying to grind her, I should have gone back to Route 13. If NasuNa'su didn't die, Lucia wouldn't have gone into the gym with me...
Aside from Bide and the instant vaporization crit, nothing really happened on the way to Valerie.
Valerie was a struggle, the Mawile got instantly vaporized, before the Slyveon came out, I immeditely hit her with the Will-o-wisp before taking Freyja to get out of harms way, I can't lose her too. Bessy came out to do her thing (use aqua ring and then do chip damage. Sylveon was hitting like a fucking truck, and Valerie has 2 hyper potion. Thankfully Sylveon showed me her entire move pool and she only knew special attacks, so after Sylveon took Bessy down to what was close to one shot. I decided to send out Sinnamon who has an insane sp. defense. Set up Grassy Terrian, used wish and did chip damage. Sinnamon got to see the second hyper potion, before she was around two shot herself, I used wish, and had to choose who I would send out, I had been counting roughly the damage Sylveon's Dazzling Gleams did, and it seemed like both Bessy and Sinnamon could survive one more and Bessy had the more versatile kit. She switched in went down to two (2) health. Bessy killed Sylveon, put on Aqua Ring, then badly poisoned Mr. Mime, then from half HP chipped Mr. Mime to death with physical attacks because he put up light screen.
Oh shit there was a Rival battle I did. That's three in like a 5 level span.
Lucia was my best bet for the Psychic gym, now I am hoping for a wild Mightyena or Litwick, at least psychic resists psychic unlike Fairy.
>>58014843I don't know what about Dimitrscu warrants a level 39 evolution. She does not feel that good to use.
Bump because 4chan is being sluggish.
Day 50.
In Nimbasa City, I met N again, and to my surprise, he invited me onto the Ferris wheel. During the ride, he revealed a shocking truth—he’s the King of Team Plasma. After the ride, he challenged me to a battle. I defeated him, but he declared his belief that all Pokémon should be freed. With that, he vanished once more.
I focused on training for the next Gym but suffered a tough loss—Tranquil was taken down by a trainer’s Scraggy. I added a few new Pokémon to my team, catching a Trubbish, a Cottonee in Lostlorn Forest, and a Liepard.
Then came the Gym battle against Elesa, the striking model who looked like she could step on me in heels and I'd thank her. My original strategy was for Roggenrola to handle her Emolgas and Sandile to counter Zebstrika, but Roggenrola was already gone. I started with Tirtouga using Ancient Power, but it couldn’t survive two Volt Switches. I switched to Darumaka, who managed to take out one Emolga with Fire Punch despite the constant Volt Switch swapping. Then Zebstrika came out, and surprisingly, Darumaka knocked it out with another Fire Punch. For the final Emolga, I used Sandile. Though I couldn’t rely on Ground moves, a few well-placed Bites won me the match.
With Elesa defeated, I headed to Driftveil City, catching a Ducklett flying near the Driftveil Drawbridge. The Gym Leader, Clay, refused to battle until I located some hidden Team Plasma grunts. I searched the city and discovered the Cold Storage was the only logical hideout. Outside, I caught a Timburr, but inside I lost Trubbish to a trainer’s Timburr. Still, I found the Plasma grunts, defeated them, and watched as they were taken away by the workers.
>>58016060Darumaka has a very high attack stat, furthet boosted by its ability Hustle. Good work on getting through Elesa without incident. I don't think Clay will be much of an issue as long as you don't let Excadrill set up. If you can get Conkeldurr it can pull its weight for Clay's battle.
>>58016882I should be fine with a fighting, grass and water type as long as I don't fuck up before the gym battle like I did with Elesa.

Part 51.
I began training for my next Gym battle against Clay, the leader of Driftveil City. During training, I caught a Karrablast to add to my collection. Once I felt prepared, I took on Clay, and the fight turned out to be easier than I expected. Sawk brought down Krokorok with a single Brick Break. Cottonee followed up by slicing through Palpitoad with Razor Leaf. Dewott handled Excadrill using two Razor Shells, though it took some damage in the process. With Clay defeated, I earned another badge.
After the match, I continued my journey and headed toward Chargestone Cave. On the way, Sandile evolved into Krokorok, giving my team a much-needed power boost. Inside the cave, I caught a Tynamo and pushed through a maze of wild Pokémon and Team Plasma grunts. Deeper inside, I ran into N once again. We battled, and I managed to defeat him, though his presence always leaves me uneasy.
Eventually, I made it through the cave and emerged in Mistralton City. The skies were cloudy, and rain poured steadily as I stepped into the next chapter of my Unova journey.
