Ice Type should NOT resist Water. Water melts ice/snow on contact.

>but they magically freeze water!!!

They do that OFFENSIVELY when using their attack moves. Defensively, perhaps their low body temps will freeze water close by over long periods of time, sure. But the bottom line is the Ice Type will NOT freeze a Water Gun/Surf/whatever before it actually hits them. Which means their bodies WILL come into contact with the liquid water. Which is warmer than ice/snow, and that's bad for the Ice Type. You are drenching it with percolating warmth, which the Ice Type does not want.

Water Type attacks would begin the process of melting the Ice Type. Yes they CAN freeze the liquid water but that has nothing to do with its defenses, that's related to its offensive abilities. In no way shape or form should Ice Type resist Water Type and I'm so fucking tired of hearing it.

>....but if you put a glass of water in the freezer.........

Shut the FUCK up.

Ice should gain more resistances. There is no reason for it to only resist itself.

That's true. It should resist Electric, snow and ice is a fucking awful conductor of electricity which essentially means any electricity would do very minor damage and not really travel through ice at all

Obv Electric Type doesn't deserve the nerf, but we can buff in some other way to compensate

A lot of things melt ice, but water can actually slow the process

Reminder this is the fandom that's dumb enough to think Psychic should be strong against Steel because of spoon bending

The reason water puts fire out is that it disperses the heat from it until there is not enough to keep a fire lit.
Ergo, Fire should also be weak to Ice.
