My naming schemes have included "wrong colours" ("Midori" the Samurott, "Redella" the Stoutand, "Noir" the Espeon, etc), "adjectives ending in Y" ("Frisky" the Cinderace, "Rackety" the Corviknight, "Cliquey" the Wishwashi, etc.), and Egyptian gods.

I'm doing this in the Pokerole game I play in, but that's because my character's from Johto (Not!Japan) so it makes sense he'd name his pokemon in Japanese.
