use the vs seeker
water berries once per growth stage for maximum crop size
bury yours spheres in the underground and dig spots will spawn around them at midnight
most times events (and underground merchants, free berries, great marsh rotations,etc.) can be reset by setting your system time to just before midnight and being in-game when the clock rolls over
look into the fan DNS servers for events
have fun

Remember that this game only has Infernape and Rapidash before the post game as fire types
Also, while it's not exactly safe, if you have a phone that can act as an open hotspot (no password), you can still connect the game to the internet to use the GTS, receive mystery gifts, and trade/battle by entering the DNS listed here in the settings: https://pkmnclassic.net/

I'll have to check out that custom server after I'm done with the main game, might be fun to complete the Pokedex and do some battling even if I imagine I'm way underqualified compared to the people who'd be playing on this.
