Yeah literally just this. Gen 9 would've been amazing if it wasn't blatantly unfinished on a technical level.

Also, they really need to hire people to unfuck their shit. They are not competent enough to make a 3D engine. It looks and runs like shit. They need to completely overhaul it or use a third party engine, which is not gonna happen.

Wasn't one of the gotchas that GameFreak apologists used was that they were using the Xenoblade engine thus it was the engine's fault? You know despite Xenoblade actually running competently

Their engines look completely different so I would be surprised. Pretty sure they still use their in-house engine. They did have some staff from Monolith to help them though.

I don't think they're capable of it. There is just something foul about sword and shield onward that lacks ALL of the charm of the previous games.

They can't. Shareholder interests, the current burnout of their staff, being restricted to Nintendie baby hardware and exponential greed are too heavy a bottleneck for Gamefreak to recover from.

Bruv, they don't care, they don't give one singular fuck if the games are good or not, they haven't for the longest time. Something like 95% of TPC's income comes from merch sales, just like Hello Kitty and the fact nobody watches her actual shows.
All the games are for is to introduce new Pokemon and new gimmicks they can sell merch of. That's it. Doesn't matter if Terastallization looks like shit in both the anime and the games, it just means they get to slap a cheap plastic hat on a glittery plushie and make another million bucks.
Even the anime is really just there to pull in some shounenfags who don't play vidya, or to showcase some 'mon in a way to make them look cooler, like how 99% of Lucario's non-furry popularity would've evaporated if it wasn't for that one in the movie acting and sounding like Shadow the Hedgehog mixed with Vegeta. Same for Mewtwo, it looks goofy in the games, but nope, gotta make a movie about it and make it into an edgelord with infinite powers and a deep anime voice.

The only way I could see them ever focusing on the games is if the current trend continues where half the new dex in each gen continues to get more and more forgotten, and this continues until only a small handful of the Pokemon drive merch sales.
Even then I'm not too sure that'd help because they've recently been rereleasing weird variants of old-gen Pokemon like "oh this one's all black now like a silhouette" or "this one's wearing a crown and has a mantle, like a king!" or "haha Gengar sleeping bag" or "LIFE SIZE GARDEVOIR YOU WANT IT RIGHT? DON'T PUT A FLESHLIGHT IN IT, HEHE!!!"
Like, I'm pretty sure gen 8's dex ate shit other than like 5 Pokemon and they still made bank off a couple starters and the sword dog, so fuck if I know, Pokemon's to the point where youtubers and drooling retard moms buy the shit up in droves like it's an impulse they can't control.

To be fair, I really, really want to fuck a Meowscarada, so props to them for that.

They definitely need to give it enough time to develop, and even then, the best they can get out of that is a GOOD game. We'll probably never see another great official Pokรฉmon game for the rest of our lives.

This is my personal opinion as someone who thought SV were a step up from SWSH, but the following would make the games amazing for me:
>no gimicky setting
By this I mean, go back to you going out to travel. You're not a student or meet up with your rivals all the time. They should really bring back the feeling of being out on your own.
>difficulty options
>tone down the free items
It's clear they filled the overworld with items because they had no idea how to approach open world but getting dozens of free items is dumb.
>take away PC box access until post game
>raids, or whatever new crap they come up with, is fine but do not give exp candies until post game
>go back to routes but make them bigger
Open world is a nice idea, but they were clearly in way over their head
>This is a major one, but introduce side quests to make the towns and cities interesting
Most "side quests" in the games are usually an after thought shoved into the post game that you steamroll through.

Make an actual good engine that works on the Switch 2 then keep reusing it. Change to a yearly DLC model where we just get 30-40 new Pokemon and a new areas a year instead of 100 every three and a completely new region.

Do you actually think this was the fault of the hardware and not the fact Tajiri wasn't just injecting whatever random ideas he had mid-development for 5 years straight?

Hello, yes. I caught rage lock glitch twice on two separate occasions playing on Game By and once in VC Red. please cut your balls off at the soonest opportunity, prevent passing your stupid onto others.
Though missingno meant I must have been the only spastic on the planet who didn't find safari zone annoying as I'd worked out the tiles used to proc missingno used the last encounter table you were active on (and OT names got stored in encounter tables when the tutorial played leading to garbage encounter results), so going into the zone, going to the right area then wasting steps till you get kicked out, then repelling all the way down the routes to Seafoam meant you could catch a Chansey in a battle instead of on an RNG throw.
