>>57958802 (OP)Being serious, Game Freak/TPC/Nintendo just want to be able to have their cake (make people's Pokémon feel as unique and as special as possible) and eat it too (have competitive formats that encourage using the best of the best, with little to no benefit of using Pokémon that are suboptimal). They can't make IVs and natures more trivial without nullifying the reason they exist in the game.
I've always believed they should have a Battle Factory or rental system as some sort of compromise, so that players can experiment with whatever Pokémon they want, but they have fixed IVs and movesets which makes them way easier to get. Ironically Pokémon GO sorta solves the IV problem by having competitive brackets be restricted by stat product rather than level, which means having different IV combinations, while still difficult to find the best one, are not necessarily objectively best and even the slightest difference in IVs can change how your Pokémon play.
