The move Slam is now a dragon type move so it's nice that Dragonite actually has STAB.

You can get the Old Rod in Viridian City's mart and get access to Poliwag and Goldeen if you need an early water type. Poliwrath learns Karate Chop and Ice Punch by level up. I think Ice Punch's freeze chance might've been increased to 30% but the doc doesn't mention any changes. I was getting a lot of freezes.
They did increase Fire Punch's burn chance.

Arbok got a welcome stat buff. It learns Substitute when it evolves but they didn't change how gen 1 Substitute works so it's not very good.
