It really doesn’t for vast majority of playstyles. Only playstyle really affected by BSS only having 3 Pokemon is Stall and only move really affected is Last Respects.
Everything else besides Stall, Last Respects, OHKO moves, and Evasion moves have less of a difference between BSS and Smogon 6v6 than there are between different Gens.

Weezing? Shutting down abilities is really good and has a variety of uses like being able to defog even if Gholdengo switches in and preventing booster energy from activating.

In VGC, you can steamroll your opponent by leading with Weezing and a bike legend equipped with the ability shield.

I'm really happy my boy Gallade is finally getting something to show after it got Sharpness, shame it's still horribly fucked by having such an awful speed stat of 80, I really wished both him and Gardevoir had their speed stats buffed to at least 95, Garde is shown to be a fast ethereal floater in camp and in quite a few pieces of Pokemon media, Gallade is a fast and nimble swordsman, and yet both are stuck at 80 speed, not good enough for Trick Room, not fast enough to outspeed most anything, both have terrible physical bulk and get demolished by priority.
Saddest part is that everything is pointing towards PLA not having abilities, so we'll likely never see Mega Gallade with Sharpness.
