I didn't like how vague the map was with regards to where it showed your location on it

Galar's linearity is a meta commentary on how the UK is a surveillance state that treats its citizens like children incapable of taking care of themselves. Just like how the player is handheld through the length of the game, the British state handholds the British public from cradle to crave like a nanny keeping a watchful eye over a naughty child who will stick his hands in the cookie jar the minute she turns away.
